Hotel is okay..not much in Uig. We did not have a room directly in the hotel, had a lodge. If you can, get a room in the hotel.

Uig is a very small town, so we were not expecting lots of things in the area, and that was the case. The staff is friendly and helpful. When we got to our room, we found that the light above the bathroom sink, as well as the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. The light was repaired quickly, but the manager was not able to fix the fan.

Uig is a beautiful small town with a stunning view. The hotel was perfect- clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, the staff helpful and friendly.

The towels were clean and fresh, the breakfast good, the staff courteous, but the room ... It looked as if it had been last renovated in the 50s (and then badly), there is nowhere to put anything, the basin is in the bedroom, not in the bathroom, taking even more space. The hotel feels a bit tired. We stayed in the lodge which was cheaper but didn't include breakfast. The room was large but the decor was very dated. The windows didn't close properly (one was broken) and there was a lot of floorboard creaking from the room above. The restaurant had good food but it was overpriced and the service wasn't great. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. Had one meal in the hotel - which was a little disappointing, presentation and mashed potatoes not quite right, particularly given the cost of the meals. Overall an okay hotel but would recommend dinner elsewhere. Dinning room appeared recently refurbished but lacked atmosphere and finishing touches.

Owners were wonderful and very helpful. The view of Uig harbour from the room was a wonderful treat--complete with a rainbow one morning. The room was nicely appointed and large. We liked the location beause it is convenient to some excellent walks nearby and the ferry to Harris and a scenic and easy drive around the top to other hikes on the east side […] or south into Portree for shopping and dining. Booked despite reading mixed reviews on trip advisor but were pleasantly surprised. Room was large, had all we needed and fantastic views of the sea. Everything was fine. My room was away from the main building but with convenient parking. My feeling was that it looked like an ordinary motel rather than a hotel, but I had no complaints. It was a good place to stay on a very damp and cold weekend.

Owing to floods and landslip, we were delayed 11 hours on travel from London to Glasgow and missed connection to Fort William Thursday, 28 June. By Friday the tracks between Glasgow and Ft William were closed, and we were too exhausted to take the bus from Glasgow to Uig. Thus, we had to change itinerary. There was a shortage of sockets in the room, in fact there was only one and it was on the opposite side of the room to the mirror which made using a hair dryer difficult. We couldn't get the shower head to work but there was a bath. There was no tv signal throughout our stay.

The situation is OK, but you'll be close to a road in the northest part of the Island, although it seems to be in Portree (it's in the district, in fact, but not in the town). You may think you're booking a hotel in the town, but it's in Uig (20 min. away). The room was OK, but the heater didn't work, the WC seat was broken as well, the shower didn't […] give pressure to the water, the TV was like 20 years old, and it was impossible to watch any channel. The breakfast was OK if you want to have Scottish breakfast since the buffet is quite poor. Not a good impression at all... but at least you can sleep in Skye for kind of an affordable price, which is not easy. On the other hand, the views from the room were brilliant, somehow mystic, and the owner tried to solve our issues. We only had one night experience, so maybe there are other rooms in better conditions. Read more

The owners were lovely. Wendy is a first class chef and the restaurant in the hotel is wonderful. There's not much else around unless you fancy the 14m drive into Portree. They are so nice they are even going to send me my jacket back which I left hanging in the cupboard! Well recommended - you get the home away from home treatment.

Small and friendly hotel. I stayed to get ferry the next day which worked well. It is run by a south african couple who are helpful and sociable. The food was basic but good as I was there out of season, being the only resident that night. A trip to Harris as a foot passenger was good value at £10-70 including a sail into Lochmaddy.

This is a great location on Skye, with great views out over the water. The staff are very nice and the hotel itself is quaint. The restaurant menu is quite limited however, there are other places to eat in the local village. Overall, not bad at all.
