"Nice hotel close to ferry"
Stayed overnight on way to Stornoway. Convenient stopover for Ferry. Owner made us feel very welcome. We ate out at the Ferry Inn as we wanted a walk, big mistake, food not great and on our return to Hotel we sat in the well stocked bar and watched plate after plate of delicious food pass by. Will remember for our next stop over. Rooms were basic but […] large and clean. Owner only recently taken over hotel and I am sure will be making this a must place to stay when in Uig. "Great hotel in with fantastic views"
Everything was fantastic. The room was one of the biggest we have had on our 5 weeks travelling around Europe. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was fine and the room was quiet. The staff were so helpful and gave us a great route for sightseeing. The food in the restaurant was great and the breakfasts had so much choice. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were very delayed in getting to Uig with a very long drive behind us we were greeted both the most lovely host. The lovely lady's name escapes me now. We were hungry and in need of drink she opened the kitchen for us and made us a great dinner. We could not give any more praiseGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff in this hotel were fantastic. Rooms clean and tidy, they had even put a heater on before we arrived which was much appreciated! Only thing was that the bathroon was freezing,,,,,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The owners were very welcoming, hotel and room were very clean.overall it just needs a bit of modernising, but they've not long taken the hotel over so I'm sure they'll get round to re decorating etc soon :)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel, and the staff were great, the view from the room was outstanding ! One gripe was the radiator in the room wasn`t working, the manager was up there in minutes & left a fan heater, which quite frankly didn`t do very much. A warm bed, but a chilly room took the edge off what is a great little hotel. With a working radiator for this time of year, […] I would definitely stay again. Very pleasant hotel, If I was in that part of the world again, I would happily stay thereGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed two nights to allow as much time as possible to tour the Isle, being towards the north it is well located for a loop of the island but does mean you have to cover some parts twice - no great problems as the scenery is worth a second look if the weather allows! The hotel is still a bit outdated and the lodge, where our room was, is really a […] motel with fairly small rooms and in need of some refurbishment. However the views from the rooms and the hotel are fantastic and the owners go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible and provide excellent touring info. The restaurant meals and breakfast were fine. The really only negative is the wifi which is non existent in the lodge, and quite inconsistent in the main hotel, possibly due to the location. "Lovely hotel, quiet and close to the ferry terminal"
Loved our stay, very comfortable room, excellent dinner and breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Small room but friendly staff"
The single room was very small considering the nightly rate for bed and breakfast. Restauarant food was expensive for what it was but served by friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Uig Hotel - Avoid it"
Overpriced, poor value for the money. Dark, no lights, broken lamps, dirty carpet, old dingy. Restaurant was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean & Comfortable hotel...."
Can't really complain. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was clean, plus restaurant meal I had was top notch. However, the bedroom I was in was like a 70s timewarp and the decor elsewhere was a bit tired and threadbare. All in all, it is fine to use as a base for exploring Skye but don't expect luxury!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel great views"
Fantastic owners very friendly and helpful....loved the location, meal was beautiful....will recommend to al my Aussie friendsGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel has a fantastic view but facilities"
Hotel has a fantastic view but facilities are a bit dated and restaurant is not cheap.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were put in the Lodge behind the hotel for our stay. The staff were nice enough but the room was dark and dirty. When we arrived the room door was wide open and there was no towels or pillow cases - they didnt arrive till later that evening. The room didnt look like any money had been put into it since 1978 - which frankly at £75 a night is a travesty. […] NIce location though overlooking UIG port and near the Fairy Glen. The evening meal was bad as well, small portions and under-cooked. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Careful if Bates Motel"
We thought the hotel was in Portree, not in the middle of nowhere!! The main building looked ok till we saw the Bates Motel out back, we could hardly sleepGenuine Expedia guest review
Had a lovely stay. Our only problem was that we had trouble finding the hotel when we got off the ferry from Isle of Lewis. Staff were very friendly and if we ever come back to Uig we would definitely stay here againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel with friendly staff"
Good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! Great location if taking the ferry to the outer Hebrides from Uig.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is really only an emergency solution for people coming of the Tabert-Uig ferry late in the evening and who don't want to travel far. We had a family suite, which consisted of two rooms connected by a dingy hallway. The rooms themselves where in need of renovation and the whole place had a musty smell, Not very nice at all! For roughly about GBP165 […] a night excluding breakfast a complete rip-off. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value, NOT IN PORTREE ( but that is OK!)"
This hotel is NOT IN PORTREE . Very friendly staff, good value , they even fitted us in for a late meal! Good food, and the Skye Brewery is not far away!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet vice hotel great views."
The location of the Hotel is great with impressive views over the water and the small village of Uig. It is quite a way out of town so if your not driving, how did you get here? its too far to walk in. otherwise its a quiet place so sleep is good. the room was small but I did expect this, the bed was soft and comfy. The food was a little a la carte […] for me but it was nice. WiFi is not in the rooms but they have a few good spots to sit and the staff just leave you alone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Adequate, but no frills."
Wonderful views from lodge window. Restaurant staff very friendly, service and food good. Our room could have been cleaner, thick dust in places and a used plaster on the floor!! Furnishings throughout the hotel were rather tired. We were rather surprised that there was no mattress protectors on the beds.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Hotel is in a prime location and commands amazing views. Room was Comfortable, I was in a lodge at the back of the hotel, Staff vere helpful and friendly. a couple of minor points, a very small old 12" Box telly, come on your a 3 star hotel charging over £100 a night, Ive had large flat screens on the wall at much less rated accomodation time to […] upgrade. Finally as a Breakfast fan it never ceases to amaze me how many 3 and 4 star hotels dont have HP sauce and the UIG hotel is no exeption. However the Breakfast was very nice, Come on People love HP sauce. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Ridiculously expensive - room was like a university halls of residence. I paid £60 for b&b, booked online and reduced from £160!!! For that price I would expect something of a completely different standard. Location is nice and staff are not unhelpful, but charging these prices is just greedy, cynical and immoral. I only stayed there because I had to, […] it would have been a bonus to have a nice place, but at least it was clean, that's about all you can say. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly hotel in a nice quiet town"
Good breakfast; excellent location if you're taking the early ferry to Harris; and a nice room. Tarbert is much smaller than Stornoway, and while I liked both, I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Lovely staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was fine and we had great views out the front window. Compared to the quality of other hotels and B & Bs we have been staying in, it was overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We love Skye!"
Uig is a great location to centre yourself for a visit to the isle of Skye. Close to the great hiking and the ferry to Lewis. Just behind the hotel and up the road there is a spot you shouldn't miss if you are in Uig - they call it the Faerie Glen! Wow !! Stark background of Skye - where the land seems to touch the sky (I know why this place is called […] "Skye") - with small faerie hills and grass and trees a green I have never seen before. Yes - it is faerie glen!! The hotel food was great (we had dinner and breakfast) and the servers were fabulous. The innkeeper was a bit gruff but helpful once you break through the grumpiness :) The rooms were a bit worn - but with the specacular scenery in Skye you won't be spending much time in your room! We loved this place!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
For the price we paid for the budget room, it was in an annexe and very dingy. The evening meal was very expensive for the food we were served, so much so that we cancelled our reservation for breakfast. Will not be back. The Manager / owner wandered round outside all the time smoking..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A terrific hotel in a great location"
The Uig Hotel is a great place to stay. It has great views and is a very comfortable hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is excellent - good food and good service. The hotel is close o the Tarbert ferry which was useful for us. We would certainly highly recommend the Uig Hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bed was not comfortable, too soft. :) That is allGenuine Expedia guest review
A Historic Hotel located in the small community of Uig. The main Hotel with Bar and Dining Room was very nice but the annex where our room was tired and in need of upgrading. Very good food and friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Home on holiday!"
We found the hotel comfortable and friendly, with very much a homely feeling. Bill and Wendy were very welcoming and east to talk to, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. We ate our meals, breakfast and dinner, at the hotel as the food was excellent (the home made fish cakes were to die for), being homely, healthy, generous and very tasty. The hotel is guite old but still working well. The showers should be descaled or changed as more oe lee water is coming out. Also the fan in the bathrom was not working which is not very good. The television channels as dirupted and not worth to look at.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and tidy"
Large, clean room. Further from the main centre than we realised. Internet not available in our room. Bathroom needs work. Lovely breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the room was large and had a great view but the we were kept awake by noises from other rooms and the bottom sheet was too small and would pull away at night to leave the mattress bare around our faces.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great views, quiet, well run"

"I feel bad writing this..."
The people were very nice in the hotel, but it was not a good stay. My husband is a little over 6ft tall and the room we paid for was not a good fit. We got one of the rooms facing the water (10) and the view was lovely, but the bathroom was terrible for anyone tall. The ceiling was slanted over the tub which made a shower impossible. The kind man running […] the check-in allowed us to use #5 for a shower, but it was very fiddly with the temp and had little pressure. The bed needed a new mattress, but the towels were decent and clean. No washcloths, but that is to be expected in the UK. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good, but not great. Overall, we slept terribly and really couldn't shower well which ruined the experience a bit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"beds comfy, location superb,food excellent,"
the room was clean , however requires updating , the food was excellent , staff service was excellent , breakfast was excellent, location is superb , the hotel itself could do with updating , apart from that excellent would stay agianGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The best thing about the hotel was the amazing view! We stayed in the Uig Lodge and while our room was comfortable and clean there was a very unpleasant smell in the hall so whenever we left the room we had to hold our breath. We didn't mind too much though because the smell wasn't present in the room itself. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant but […] the dinner was good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Desperately needing renovation"
The towels were clean and fresh, the breakfast good, the staff courteous, but the room ... It looked as if it had been last renovated in the 50s (and then badly), there is nowhere to put anything, the basin is in the bedroom, not in the bathroom, taking even more space. The bathroom is antediluvian and there was just one hanger in the cupboard. The […] disastrous design details are too numerous to mention. As a final insult, there is no Wifi to be had. "Ok but not great."
The hotel feels a bit tired. We stayed in the lodge which was cheaper but didn't include breakfast. The room was large but the decor was very dated. The windows didn't close properly (one was broken) and there was a lot of floorboard creaking from the room above. The restaurant had good food but it was overpriced and the service wasn't great. The dining […] room is starkly lit with barely a picture on the wall, so not exactly an intimate dining experience! The hotel is not bad but it needs a bit of updating as it has a good location and potential. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
