"Close to China Town, Old Montreal & St. Catherine"
This hotel was beautiful, chic, eco-friendly and very clean. I usually only stay in 5 star hotels and needed to down scale with this rough economy. I was very pleased. It felt like a modern studio apartment. The only issue for me was the dim lighting at all times. I am turning 40 soon and my eyes are not what they once were. LOL My 12 year old daughter […] was thrilled that it was environmentally friendly. The hotel is in walking distance to Old Montreal, China Town and St. Catherine Street (for shopping and restaurants). Baton Rouge on St. Catherine is an excellent restaurant. I also enjoyed Dundee's which was a $10 cab ride away. Read more

"Minimalist rooms-central location"
Hotel was comfortable, 'modern chic' without being too overdone. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, rooms are quite small, but well planned out. Room and bed were clean, firmer mattress than I prefer, but pretty nice. Great location, just outside of china town and a 5 minute walk from Old Montreal Port area. Parking across the street is a bit questionable […] but the hotel offers valet parking at an underground garage at a reasonable price and were very prompt about bringing the car. Overall a good place to stay, would go again. Read more
"Hotel Zero, Montreal"
Hotel Zero is easy to get to. Valet parking is a the only way to go if you have a car. Free internet is easy and fast. My room had a concealed kitchenette. It was quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was cool. Located half way between old Montreal and the restaurants on St. Laurent it worked out well. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Got me reservations […] for a trendy restaurant easily. Read more
"trendy but friendly"
We stayed at Hotel Zero One because we were attending a conference at the very nearby Palais des Congres. The hotel was extremely convenient, and the 747 bus that goes from the airport to the center of Montreal stops just across the street (and allows you unlimited bus and metro rides the same day!) The hotel is trendy and very design conscious; all […] but one of the walls in our room was black! But the room was very large, and equipped with refrigerator, coffee maker, a microwave, and even dishes and silverware. This is a medium sized hotel (164 rooms, I believe), which makes it far less impersonal than the huge chain hotels. The staff was consistently very friendly and helpful for everything. The hotel is also just across the street from Chinatown. Read more
"Hotel Zero: rooms are great..."
The rooms in this hotel are swanky, lovely and spotless. I love the style and amenities (fridge, microwave, coffee pot, wireless, etc). The hallways are little dark and creepy and the hotel is so new that it lacks a bar or restaurant (and room service). The staff was lovely--happy to make a dinner reservation or provide directions and the muffins and […] coffee in the morning were a perfect convenient start to the day. Read more

"Best Birthday Ever!"
Had a great time! convenient location!!! walking distance to everything downtown...it is downtown so if you plan on going make sure to walk with direction to avoid few homeless ppl...other than that the hotel is magnificent and staff was super friendly!! thank you thank you Lise, Chantel, Natalie :D
"great hotel for the price"
We loved this hotel and hope to go back again. As long as you are not a prude, the area around the place is not so bad. The location overall is great and central to everything. I wish they would replace the coffee and muffins with espresso and croissants:)
"On the edge of Chinatown"
This room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was polite, accommodating and completely bilingual. The location is on the edge of Chinatown and not far to walk to other attractions such as the Montreal Contemporary Art Museum and Place des Arts shopping/dining. As a single woman traveler, I felt very safe and comfortable. Highly recommend.

"Hotel Zero"
The hotel is sleek and a clean place to stay. It is within walking distance of St Catherine shops and the Village. The immediate neighborhood is not super nice, but not bad. The hotel is very low maintenance and no nonsense. The rooms are on the smaller size but comfortable.

"montreal's boutique hotel"
I got one of the tiny rooms and it was small but very cool (in a designery sort of way). The halls were dim (but that seemed to be the norm in the other 2 hotels we stayed in both montreal and quebec, which made me think that it's some sort of energy efficient policy that's now in vogue in so many cities). I can't wait till they get the restaurant downstairs. […] My room was compact, and for the very little money that I was charged, the hotel was a great deal. I couldn't stay the entire week in this hotel so I had to go to a different hotel the later part of the week. Similar designer like room for more than double the price! I will plan better and try to get this hotel for my entire stay next time. Read more
"Hotel Zero 1 - Close to Chinatown"
My husband and I stayed here in mid-October. Hotel has very friendly and accomodating staff; hotel is attached to 24 hour convienence store (sold everything including alcohol). Hotel is located across the street from Chinatown, makes for a good dinner location (did not eat there, but ordered carryout). May not be a good location for families with children, […] i.e. close to red-light district (but it was okay to walk through during the day). Room temperature control was difficult to master. "Great location"
Spent one night here and loved it. The location is perfect. Right in between old Montreal and down town. Had Chinatown right acrost the street. We were able to walk to all the attractions. Will defanately be back.
"Great hotel!"
Very cool & modern decor. Minimal and no frills approach. Room was simple and sexy. 24 hr conveinence store is attached to the hotel. Able to buy wine & beer ( until 11p )...Walking distance to old montreal and the Latin quarter. The immediate area behind the hotel is a bit "young" and not really a place I wanted to hang out...but a 7 min walk past […] it was the Latin quarter. Great time. Read more
"Pleasantly suprised...nice for biz travel"
I had stayed at another modern-y boutique hotel in Toronto earlier this year and hated it, due to noise and the too-cools hanging around all the time and staff too cool to help you. Zero-1 was a pleasant surprise in that it had similar modern trappings, without the attitude. Room was small but comfortable, with windows that open, though kept them shut […] at night as it is a noisy neighborhood. Great restaurants and subway within walking distance, including excellent chinatown options. St. Laurent is transitional--a few pornos still in operation. I'll definitely be back. Read more
"Hotel Zero 1 in Montreal - great central location"
Great central location to Old Montreal and the newer sights (Mile End, Crescent St, Mont Royal, Plateau area) for a very reasonable price. Immediate surrounding area is a little seedy, but we did not enounter any problems other than very drunk teenagers. The staff was incredibly helpful, whether it was with valet parking, bar recommendations, or instructions […] for using the metro system. Room was a perfect size for 2, complete with a mini kitchen. I do wish the sheets would have been changed during our stay, but we didn't specifically request this. Read more

"Good value in Downtown Montreal"
This is a modern appointed hotel close to downtown and the metro. Easy to get around. Most of surrounding area was okay. Across the street from China town. Also within walkig distance to the old port and old Montreal which is what we were interested in. Nice to have muffins and coffee in the morning. Would recommend this hotel.
"Just what we needed"
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Zero 1 for the Montreal marathon. The room was clean, sleek and comfortable. It was small, but I don't require a lot of space. There was a nice complimentary breakfast each morning.
"kudos"
nice little hotel with gorgeous rooms, upscale location, helpful staff and excellent service...very satisfied. won't hesitate to stay there if i ever visit Montreal again. the price can't be beat either.

"Downtown Montreal Location with Funky Urban Charm"
Hotel Zero 1 is not your cookie-cutter, large-chain hotel. It is a stand alone edgy, urban oasis on the Montreal area. LOCATION: 1) Catty-corner to Chinatown 2) 1 Block from the shops, food and galleries of St. Catherine Street 3) Close to the highway 4) 24-hour convenience store connected to the building 5) 1 block from St. Laurent metro entrance […] (also including rental bikes) 6) 10-15 minute walk to Old Montreal 8) 15 minute trip via Metro to the Biodome (easy ride without any connection points) 7) I feel like I should address this as well: Though it's on the outskirts of the "Red Light District" we NEVER felt uneasy. The area was clean and friendly. The district has been bought out by the city and efforts are being made to keep it safe and clean. Police could be found in multiple areas during later hours of the night (though they were never needed) and we never saw any "drunks" or prostitutes. If it weren't for the names on some buildings, you wouldn't know it was "red light". This is certainly NOT the typical/stereotypical "red light district" of a downtown USA city. AMENITIES: 1) Kitchenette in the room was great especially for those on a budget who plan to make their own food when possible - included a microwave, mini-fridge, sink, coffee pot, cups, plates, silverware, bowls and salt/pepper shakers 2) Very minimalist, European setup with hidden closets and storage throughout the room to make great use of the space 3) Beautiful, modern, funky decor in lobby and room 4) Nice terrace on 5th floor and sitting area inside hotel lobby 5) Muffins and coffee/tea offered in the morning until restaurant is built (finished by fall/winter of 2011) 6) Free wi-fi (even had a station in the lobby with rental laptops) STAFF: 1) Very friendly 2) Bi-lingual (as is ALL of Montreal) 3) Very helpful when it comes to touring the town (they had maps on hand for everyone) and knew all of the great locations for food, coffee, shops, etc SUMMARY: This hotel was located right in the Read more
"Hotel Zero 1 - what a find!"
This amazing boutique hotel, with totally modern rooms and conveniences was just what I needed for a weekend away with co-workers. Close enough to Old Montreal, restaurants, museums, and stores to do anything, and comfortable for sleeping and relaxing, it was a complete winner. Once their own restaurant opens, they should have a top notch facility. […] One minor downside was no local parking, but the valet service was prompt. Read more
"Zero 1 Montreal"
Stylish and efficient room in a cool boutique hotel. A block from St Catherine's St. and a 5 minute walk through Chinatown to Old Montreal. Spent three nights and hated to leave!
"I loved this room"
Its very cute little hotel with a modern style
"Better on Photo"
Much better on Photos compared to reality, a few details that make a difference between a correct stay and a great stay. Would chose a diferent one fir the NeXT time. Staff was great.
GOOD PLACE BUT OVER THE TOP IKEA FURNITURE
Even though the hotel is new, the rooms don't look new and they are too dark. Also, I don't think the hotel is worth its price. One can find better hotels in this price range. The receptionists were helpful.
"Hotel Zero 1 - great local hotel"
Hotel is in a great location downtown right in front of china town, do note that being down town the area means the streets are slightly on the dirty side, in the heat there is a sewage smell although this comes and goes and is not constant. Montreal in general does not seem to have much overnight street parking that is some what safe, although we parked […] on the street we could see our car via the hotel room, parking costs were affordable but are meter based so getting up in the morning after the free overnight parking was annoying. The secure car parks are slightly restrictive and are a few blocks walk away and can cost quite a bit. The hotel was great, clean, friendly staff however the air controls in the bedroom did not seem to want to go below 72 for air conditioning so the room never cooled down that much I am sure this may have been a central control via the hotel, it didn't matter that much to us as the weather was cold anyway. Wifi was very slow so if you are someone who needs to be connected all the time, you may get frustrated. All in all I would recommend. Read more

"Not finished!"
Although advertised on the website as if the hotel were completed, the hotel had actually opened only the Thursday before I arrived and was not finished in parts. The main lobby had doors and wall panels that were not attached to the wall. The AC was not working so I had to open the window to keep the room cool which allowed the street noise from downtown […] into the room all night. The staff tried to make-up for these failings by offering me cool bottled water since the AC didn't work and they were friendly and helpful for getting me around town. Had the hotel opened a few weeks later after they had completed all the work to the hotel, I think I would have had a much more positive opinion of my stay. Read more

"Compromises for the price"
Overall this is a fairly nice hotel. The rooms are small, in boutique fashion, but very clean and modern. It's just a little too far from the best parts of downtown to be a great hotel. I'd stay again for the price but plan to be in and out without the downtown experience. Pros: nice room, modern decor, good shower pressure (a personal pet peeve). Cons: […] the neighbourhood leaves much to be desired (unless you want to hit the strip clubs), not easily within walking distance to decent restaurants, the shower was a bit small (wouldn't want to be more than 6', 250 lbs. "Walking distance to all must-see hotspots."
I really enjoyed my stay, I would definitely stay there again the next time I visit Montreal. The Hotel does not have their own parking lot but there is a public parking lot just across from the hotel (for a fee). But overall the hotel is great, clean and comfy, and a big plus is its location. Shopping, Night life, Tourist Must-Sees are all just around […] the corner. China Town is just across the street too. Oh and the Metro is very close by as well, so you can quickly and easily reach other parts of beautiful Montreal. Read more
"hip boutique hotel"
this was my second stay at the hotel - love the trendy NYC boutique hotel style - well appointed and comfortable rooms - friendly staff - definitely a preferred hotel.
"Great experience, would stay there again"
Very pleasant stay at Hotel Zero 1. Very chic, very modern design and furnishing. Staff was excellent, room was in great condition. I can see the black walls and ultra-modern, pseudo-industrial interior turning off some people but I loved it. Not the greatest location if you're a tourist as the area of St-Laurent that it's in is a little rough and no […] key tourist attractions are nearby. That being said, if you know the city, have a car or are fine with taking the subway it's fine. Great hotel for a younger demographic, probably not the best place for those 40+. Read more

"Hotel Zero 1"
This is a handy hotel with easy access to transit services, old montreal and the underground system. The room was clean and comfortable. The rooms are small but everything worked well. Did I mention that the room was small. The bathroom was even smaller. This is not the type of place to try and sneak in 2 extra kids to sleep on the sofa. It won't happen. […] As an individual or couple looking for a neat place to get away this is a good stop. Only valet parking is available. When in Montreal I typically rent a car. The extra charge for the valet service is substantial. On the flip side you are close to the metro which works very well. Read more

"Hotel Zero-One"
This was a great deal. The rooms are very very small, felt like we were in Europe. But for the price couldn't go wrong. Montreal is such a great city that if you plan to be out of the room often this is a great hotel to stay at. We went for a business trip - this was an ideal hotel for our purposes. The meetings rooms look great as well and will consider […] them in the future. Read more
