The hotel is very nice but lets face it, Detroit is a crummy city! Short walk to baseball stadium and Joe Louis "Fist".

Attended a concert at the Fox Theatre. The Westin was conveiniently located to the Fox and any other venues (Comerica Park, Ford Field, Greektown etc.) I look forward to stay at the Westin Book Cadillac again!

I stayed here for opening day 2013. It is close to all the bars and was lots cheaper than the casinos and other hotels not as conveniently located. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very nice. No complaints.

I booked a room for a hockey game, I looked online and found your hotel the pictures (which are very deceiving) made our decision very easy (or so we thought) while booking the room we had the option to have a king or 2 doubles. I chose a king size bed. We arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a very friendly man at the desk, checked us in and away […] we went to our room. Get into the room it was freezing cold, and to our surprise 2 double beds. I picked up the phone and dialed 0 only to get a rude beyond rude lady on the phone telling me "sorry about your luck all the king rooms were taken" WHO SAYS THAT????. I walked back to the desk where I was again greeted by the same guy, I showed him my paperwork and what I had purchased. he looked into the computer and stated that he did not have any king rooms open for the night and he was very sorry (what choice do I have here?) he offered to send something up to the room free of charge but what? when checking into the room in the late hours of the night. You have no vending machines to get something to drink all of your stores or eating areas were closed , there is nothing but run down buildings. The part that kills me the most is my husband pulled back his covers to get in the bed only to find dark stains on his sheets!!!!!! two adults sleeping in a double bed is just wrong. We will not be booking a room at the Westin ever again. there went an awful lot of money that was totally not worth it. Read more

When we stayed at the Westin Book Cadillac, they did some refurbishments in the entrance area and ball room areas, so "clean and very neath" impression was a little disturbed. We stayed in the hotel in 2009, and had a great experience. This was the reason for our return. Unfortunately the experience was not this great this time. Hard to define why, […] maybe we had too high expectations based on last time? Rooms: The room was spacious, clean og modern. Big beds and plenty of space for luggage. The bathroom was very spacious with nice shower and amenities. Service: The service was good, somehow it was so good as to what we experience in 2009. The staff was polite, service minded and nice. Location: The Westin Book Cadillac is located downtown Detroit. Very good location and easy to find. There are valet parking and also self parking. The parking house is located in the building next to the hotel and easy and find. There are two People Mover stations not fare from the hotel - only few minutes walk. This was a smooth way to move around downtown. Smooth to leave the car in the parking house. We had a fine stay at the Westin Book Cadillac. It is a very nice hotel, centrally located and with modern and very comfortable rooms. If you get a good price we can recommend it! Read more

All good but valet parking, horrible, had to wait almost an hour for our car. Granted it was New YEars day and near check out time. But, they should have planned for this. I ended up getting the keys and going after it myself.

The "quality of the staff and their service" is more of a 3.5 to 4 with an overall 4.5 to 5. The only real complaint I have was the woman we spoke to on the phone regarding our special room request prior to our stay. We asked if we could have 2 double beds in one of our rooms and the response was more of a non-chalant "you get what you get". I'm guessing […] it's because we purchased the stay through a package deal. It didn't leave me with a good first impression and for some people that could be a deal breaker. My only suggestion would be to have all the staff who answer the calls for reservations/general questions to have better phone etiquette. The staff at the hotel itself were wonderful. I would love to see hotels like this and cities like Detroit thrive. Despite my minor issue, I would definitely recommend this hotel. You might even run into a few ball players during your stay:) Read more

We went to Noel night and thoroughly enjoyed the city and many activities. The hotel is just steps away from the Ice rink at Campus Martius. The service was great, we had a great meal at Roast.Only downside was our room was by the elevators and quite noisy.

My stay at the hotel was great and the staff was more than accomodating to my wife and I on our 10 year Anniversary however I was disappointed with the toilet in the bathroom which was emitting quite an odor (raw sewage smell) and also with the people who were staying on my floor and across the hall from us who screamed, giggle, and yelled until 1:47 […] am in the morning. I did make a call down to the front desk and the person who answered was very apologetic and also very concerned with what we were experiencing and said it would be handled but that really never happened. I would definately stay at the hotel again but this time I think I would ask that my stay would be away from a group of teenagers and also rowdy guests that choose to run up and down the hallways and scream when they talk until the wee hours of the morning! Went to enjoy a night with my boyfriend. The room was a little expensive but was worth every penny I spent. The room was magnificent on the 10th floor. The shower was the best shower I've ever been in. The atmosphere was so peaceful, elegante....just a beautiful experience.

I was very happily surprised to find out my room with in the executive suite on the 23rd floor. It was wonderful. The bed was incredible, the shower was spacious and had an excellent shower head. The view of the Detroit river was outstanding as well. Love this place.

I currently live in Dallas, TX and was visiting my hometown of Detroit to see family and friends. I had always loved the book cadillac building even before it was renovated into the Westin. Overall the hotel was clean, very modern. However, I was surprised at how many things were not included. The hotel does not have any of its own parking, so we had […] to pay an extra $15 a day to park. The hotel also did not provide free wi-fi that was another $8 a day. When you are staying at a hotel like the Westin, and spending quite a lot of money to stay there you would assume these items would be included in your price of the room. Also, the first night that we stayed at the hotel we were woken up at 9am to very loud drilling and banging right outside of our window (we were on the 11th floor). We open the blinds to find a several men on a window washing platform drilling into the mortar right outside our window. When you are on vacation the last thing you want is to be woken up at 9am. When we inquired about the noise to the hotel they said that the men were city workers and that they had no control over where they worked and that they didn't even know they were going to be there. How do you not know about people working on YOUR building, let alone on the 11th floor. The only place that they could move us to was the same area but a few floors up? Not on the other side of the hotel or anything were we would not hear the noise. Overall I was very disappointed. Read more

The hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was large and comfortable with a nice view. The hotel staff was helpful and curtious. The hotel was within walking distance from a lot of attractions. (Ford Field, Greektown and the Riverwalk.) Although a bit pricey, the Roast restaurant was spectacular.
