The owners could not have been nicer. They were warm and outgoing and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We spent New Years Eve at the House. The husband, a gormet chef, prepared a New Years Eve dinner that was extraordinary!! A traditional English country side home. Small rooms but spotless. We would return!!!

Dartington is a special place, a restored medieval hall. Very beautiful and the rooms are up to 21st. century standards. The one mild problem was the WIFI was touchy; one had to stand by the window for it to work. Very reasonable priced.

Our daughter in at university in Plymouth and so we regularly book hotels in Plymouth to visit. The Imperial is our favourite and the first we try to book when we come down. The staff are really friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and we can park the car on site and get everywhere on foot. Excellent location for walking the sea front prom and also very handy for all the major shopping outlets. Lovely old building with good size room. The breakfast was superb with a nice selection and the staff were very helpful and polite at all times. Billed as 5 star, however, as nice as it was I could only rate this as 4 star.

Set in one of the super old houses built for high ranking naval officers in the 18 th/19 th century the hotel is conveniently placed for walks on the Hoe or into the city centre. The hotel has been thoroughly revamped and has a nice boutique sort of feel about it. The staff were charming and very attentive. The breakfasts were nicely cooked and largely […] locally sourced quality produce.There was adequate choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt, breads, etc but perhaps not quite as wide a range as some other hotels we have enjoyed but hey... they are more expensive so for me that is understandable. We enjoyed staying at the Imperial hotel. The town centre was on one side and the waterfront was on the other. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and I definitely recommend the porridge. Although the room was small, it was clean and cozy. It was a wonderful experience!

We arrived quite late both times we stayed here but the staff were very helpful & friendly which was very welcoming. The rooms were clean and spacious enough and to the required standard. Good breakfast, which, due to the dining room being full was served in the lounge..again the staff were very helpful and we were not inconvenienced. Good location […] if you are taking the ferry as it is only 5 minutes away. Quiet too despite being in town. We travelled with an under 5 year old and our overall experience was excellent and we would gladly book this guest house again. Read more
