Excellent location for what we wanted - access to the Barnes Museum - and close to the SEPTA to the airport. Very helpful staff, let us stay in the room until 1 PM departure time for the airport. Cafe/bar associated with it provided excellent food. Only negative is that the cafe not open for lunch. I would happily stay there again

Very convenient, quiet hotel. Some glitches with a delivery and with our key cards. (Staff comped a breakfast for us to compensate for delievery.) Bed old and could see slag in middle. Room was half carpet and half hardwood. Carpet was old, stained and felt icky. Room didn't feel clean. However - shower was good - good water pressure and hot water as needed. Staff was very very pleasant. Rooms just need more attention and cleaning.

I think this is hotel is a wonderful location & also loved that they offered valet for around $24 after taxes and fees. We have stayed at another hotel only a block away where we paid $26 to park our car in a confusing parking garage. It was a relief to pull up right out front and not worry about a thing! This hotel is very close to pick up the subway […] and walking distance to all our favorite places in center city. They also have a "lounge" attached to this hotel so it is nice to stop in for a drink before figuring out which way we are headed into the city. The only downside was the bathroom wasn't very clean and you could notice any spot since they are all white walls, floors, shower/toilet and countertops. The only other thing is the walls are paper thin and the curtains are NOT black out curtains. We were on the second floor so we only had half windows at the top of the ceiling where you couldn't look out at all and I was surprised how much light came in. We are early birds so this didn't bother us but, I'm sure our neighbors heard us up early with the TV on. All together it's an awesome location and hotel stay. We stayed here for one night in March. Had a very nice, large, clean room. Old building but completely renovated a few years ago -- modern and elegant inside. They had a manager's reception with free beer, wine, wings and BBQ sliders the evening we were there in a top-floor lounge with nice views. Staff was very friendly. The parking situation was slightly confusing, there is valet parking available at the main hotel entrance on 12th street - but there was no sign and no clear indication as to where to leave your vehicle. Disappointing. (1) We were given a room which they changed after we started unpacking because their computer system has (wrongly) shown that room as vacant while it was already occupied. So we moved next door. (2) The smell from the bathroom was immediate when we walked in. It turned out that the smell was coming from a drain that wasn't working in […] the sink. It was fixed after 24 hours of icky stay. (3) We were told there was another room we could move to the next day, which, when we asked to be moved to the day receptionist told us was not available. This was my second time at this hotel. As before, I found the staff to be very helpful. Five minute walk to the Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market, ten minutes to all the restaurants of Chinatown. I would not wander in the neighborhood past midnight, but felt comfortable through the evening hours. Would definitely stay here again.

My BIGGEST complaint is the audacity of an individual staying in the hotel to use their stay to obtain one’s credit card information. Yes, I was a victim… imagine getting a phone call around MIDNIGHT, and the individual did an excellent job on indicating they were the front desk… in hind sight I should have hung up and called the front desk. What makes […] me doubly angrier is the LACK of information from the front desk as they knew something happen but was more concerned with the hotel reputation than asking simple questions about our stay—like phones calls in the middle of the night that were NOT from the front desk. The front desk/night shift individuals indicated the calls did not go through the switch board—thus they assumed it was a quest in the hotel. I will say I have minimized the damage as I canceled my credit card as soon as I could. A Friend suggested from another friend, to buy a pre-paid card for travelling/hotel expenses. I appreciate the hotel manager calling me the same day expressing he was taking the steps to try to determine which room/guest was doing this. THE GOOD STUFF: the room was great, corner room with windows on two sides, hearting worked great, when you opened the door you do not see where you sleep as it is around the corner, larger bathroom with standing shower... Any shortcomings were more than compensated for by the staff. My room did not have coffee the first morning I was there and the front desk brought me brewed coffee right away. The front desk was always helpful and polite - even when they had a lot going on. AND free WiFi. Any business that is not providing free WiFi... is doomed. :)

My party and I were very displeased with our visit to this Four Points. The front desk employee assigned us the wrong room number/keys, refused a late check-out, and was in general very uninformed about the surrounding parking areas and neighborhood. Luckily, another employee was more informed and was able to help with the room mix up and parking assistance. […] However, we were still refused a late check-out which was very dissapointing because we came to Philadelphia to run a marathon and were basically required to check out in the morning before the race and still make it to the race by 7AM, and then have no where to shower or change after the race. They said they knew all the runners were in town and since everyone was requesting the late check out, they weren't offering it to any one because it would cause problems for them. So much for "Brotherly Love" in the city of Philadelphia... The room was also rather small, but served its purpose. The heater/vent obviously vented to the outside because there was a constant cold draft coming through the vents, as well as it not being able to block out traffic/street noise. When the heat/vent did run, it was as loud as a truck exhaust, making sleeping nearly impossible. The coffee pot did not work properly, and there was used coffee filter from the previous guest still in the coffee maker. So overall, it was a very dissapointing stay for various reasons. Read more

I actually enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's located right across the convention center and a few blocks away from the Reading Terminal Market, a huge plus. If you go in the opposite direction Chinatown is right there and so there's a wide variety of food options. It's also very close to the shopping area and the city hall. The hotel itself is nice […] and clean and the front staff are friendly enough. They have a valet service available for $24 ($20 + tax) and you can take your car in and out as many times as you want during the day. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get your car so make sure you give them enough notice. The room I stayed in was small but comfortable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My only complaint about the room was how noisy it was - I could hear every door being shut and a couple of times (while I was asleep) a door somewhere was shut really loud my headboard actually moved. The hot water also didn't work properly and when we asked the front desk, someone came by about 15 minutes later to tell us that they had to shut down the main pipe or something like that. It was a very nice hotel! I've been wanting to stay here for a while now but I could never find a great deal until a couple of days ago! I booked it for one night via Expedia for an awesome yet affordable price. We booked a Standard King room with the King bed, etc, etc, and it was amazingly modern, clean, and wonderful in comparison to the previous […] hotels we've been staying at. The bathroom was compact yet built with a modern design. Our room had a foyer to hang our coats, leave our shoes, and any other outerwear in-- exceptionally beautiful. The moment we settled down into our room, the front desk had called us to check on us, I'd assume for quality assurance, and that was a nice change from what we're used to. Bed was comfy, pillows were a bit on the thin side, but we slept well. Since we were placed on the fifth floor, the view was of the parking lot across the street from the hotel, but that was fine, since we were only here for a night to sleep-- not stare at Philadelphia. Any cons for this hotel would have to be the heating system. I'm not sure if it's per room, but our heater was a bit loud, and had a burning smell (similar to burning hair) if you left it on rather than on the Auto option. That's really all I can say for cons. Hopefully we can get another deal from this hotel soon! I'd love to come back! Read more
