"Staying Saturday Night? Forget about sleeping"
This hotel has potential to be excellent but sadly let down by the lack of double glazing. I stayed Saturday night and had to wake at 5.30am Sunday for work. I was kept awake all night by car horns, drunks shouting and singing, bottles emptying into bins, none of which I was warned about. Maybe it was just room 103, maybe just Saturday Night, maybe […] I should have got up and tried to complain or move room but I won't be returning without some reassurance of changes made. "Nice stay but noisy"
Really friendly staff and environment around the whole place. The breakfast was excellent with toast, cereal, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yoghurt and a selection of meats and cheeses which was far superior to a normal continental breakfast. The only downside is that our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking a nightclub. Local taxi drivers were beeping […] their horns outside our window until 4am. Highly recommended as long as you don't need to be up too early the next morning!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location good but a bit loud"
The location was good, we arrived by bus and it was only a shirt walk from the bus station. Unfortunately the area outside seemed to be very popular late at night. On several occasions throughout the night we were awoken by loud shouting and singing from outside. Not the venues fault of course and town centres are busy on Saturday nights but still not […] ideal. The room itself was comfortable but I would have preferred an actual double bed rather than two singles pushed together with one sheet over them. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just what you need in the centre of town"
This place isn't glamorous, but it is clean, comfortable, offers great value for money and has really helpful staff. I think a lot of three and four star hotels could learn from these guys. The room that we had really well fitted out, the bed comfortable and everything properly thought out. Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location was convenient and breakfast was good!"
This hotel has only stairs, but the staff was kind and help me to bring up my suitcase. They looked after me (guest) well in general. I had been using several hotels in central Leicester. I think this hotel is one of comfortable ones among them and I would like to use this hotel again in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The check in service was efficient and friendly, my room was excellent value and had everything you need, although was a bit tired in places. The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever come across - I had to sandwich myself between the quilt to stop the springs digging into me!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed over course of 2 weeks recently, good central location and if you are ok with stairs this is fine. Although there are better hotels around, you need to see this in context as this hotel is very good value. Apart from the shower handle being a bit loose and web access loss occasionally, no other niggles and I would return. In fairness I didn't […] mention these 'issues' as they were minor. Didnt try out the breakfast. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well let's see. !"
Woken up by loud music from next door at 3am. Room stifling hot ! Shower fixture broken ! Our room was on the third floor and with no lift that's a killer ! The location and service are the only things that save this review from being a damning one ! It could be a little gem if they went through the whole hotel and rectified all the little stuff that […] made the place a bit half finished ! Door furniture not fitted correctly, shower fittings broken ect ! Sorry if this sounds negative but premier inn and Encore can do it so !!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"I was very impressed with this hotel"
Prior to check in, I received a phone call from reception to make sure I knew where the hotel was and to inform me that the reception closed at 8pm. Funnily, I was on my walking to the hotel but it was still nice to get the phone call. The hotel is located right in the city centre which was great for travelling around. The receptionist was lovely, […] so friendly and explained everything so clearly. I went out in the evening and it was really easy and secure to let myself in without having to bang the door and wake everyone up! The hotel was very clean and very well decorated. The only room available at my time of booking was a single bed but it was very comfortable and room still had a bedside table, chest of drawers, wardrobe and flat screen TV! Even had a chair! The only disappointing thing about my stay was a shared bathroom. Some rooms had their own but my room didn't. I didn't realise this before. The bathroom was on a different floor but the receptionist informed me that I would only have to share with one other person. Every time I wanted to use the bathroom, it was free which was good. And the bathroom was very clean. I overslept so missed breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Walking in Leicester winter land"
03/12/14 FootienBeer Shrewsbury, United Kingdom
I visited during a heavy snow storm and the City was deserted apart from the odd commuter stuck without any Buses and few Taxis available which made me think that the very well located and easy to find Hotel would be busy with stranded people,it wasn't. I was made very welcome and the room was up a couple of flights of stairs and I managed to find two ways down to reception without fathoming how. The staff were very helpful when I asked if they could get me a Taxi to the Football Ground, but due to the weather the efforts were in vain. The room was excellent and quiet (although I couldn't work out how to release the plug in the sink).I did not find the morning traffic disturbed my sleep If you wanted a Drink or meal you are spoilt for choice as there are numerous Bars and Restaurants nearby. Minus points were trying to find the Breakfast room and wondering where everyone was which meant I wasn't sure what I could take or how much. I liked the choice of continental breakfast but I gather some would have liked a warm or cooked meal given the weather.
"It served a purpose"

You get what you pay for. What did disappoint me was that the shared bathroom was on the next floor down and the bed awfully skweeky. All very very basic. However the pace was clean with friendly staff. The location is nice and Central and my was at the back so I didn't experience much noise.
"Good value for money"
02/12/14 Jessoke Newcastle under Lyme
The hotel is situated in a brilliant location with lots of near by amenities, the decor is very tasteful and the rooms are a very good size. All this is made even more brilliant by the very affordable prices. When booking a continental breakfast is included, which was very substantial with lots of choice. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. The only draw back of this hotel is because of its central location there is lots of noise at night from the surrounding bars and traffic, also there is no lift, which may be an issue for some if they are situated on the top floor. Overall we were very impressed and will stay again if visiting Leicester again in the future.
"Very disappointed, poor service, not good value for money"
We chose this hotel as we read a couple of good reviews and it was well located in the centre of Leicester. We arrived at 1pm and our room wasn't ready (check-in starts at 2pm). Plus the person who welcomed us has managed to put us off from the start by telling us that "the area ins't safe so we shouldn't park here". At that point we were already disappointed. We came back after 2pm, our room was on the 3rd floor (no lift). The room was very dusty and not very clean. The bed wasn't comfortable at all, extremely low and very 'bouncy'. We had a horrible night sleep, not only because of the bed but because the hotel is located right next to a nightclub so extremely noisy. Taxis didn't stop biping their horns before 5am! Breakfast was average, service was poor, no one checking on us, asking whether we want tea or coffee, etc. When we left, there was no one at reception so we left our keys in a box. I have hardly every seen such a poor quality of service. Not the best value for money either, you can probably find much better for the same price or even cheaper.
"Cheap and cheerful"
11/28/13 Ed P Oxford, United Kingdom
The cheapest room I could find in Leicester - as a student attending a conference, I wanted to spend as little money as possible, and this was the answer. Although I had booked a non-en suite room, I found myself apparently upgraded to one with a bathroom. The room quality was fine - smart bed and bed linen, thick curtains to keep our the light, and the neighbours weren't too noisy. The bathroom was a little on the shabby side, but fine, functional. The lady on the front desk was very friendly, if a little stressed as it was apparently her first day. Breakfast was included, and was perfectly adequate, with a relatively wide range of choices. The hotel is located in a relatively central area of town, surrounded by bars and clubs - I was pleasantly surprised to find that in my room I couldn't hear any of them, but I imagine you could end up with the bad luck to be on the other side of the hotel. Coming in late at night the area might be seen as a bit threatening. If you are only staying for a short time, not spending too much time in your room, and are able to cope with a few knocks to the paintwork, there's nothing wrong with this place at all.
"Perfect for a quick stop"
My dad booked this hotel as we were travelling away supporters going to watch our team play the Tigers. If you are visiting for this reason, the hotel is perfect. 10 minutes walk from Welford Road and a central location to go for a beer after the game. The room was basic, but clean. The beds weren't the best I've slept in but at this price, you really can't complain. The only minor gripe was the scalding hot shower in our room - far too hot to even attempt standing under. Having said that, we have already talked about coming to our away fixture here next season and will definitely be staying at this hotel. For the price you pay, you can't beat it.
"really good stay at really good price"
10/17/13 Ewa W London, United Kingdom
Stayed at the hotel for a week and cannot find any fault. The service was great, and the staff was very polite and helpful. The breakfast is continental with a good choice of fresh vegetables, ham, cheese etc. but what is the most important, it is included in the price. The rooms are cosy and modern and were cleaned on a daily basis. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice and pleasent stay in the city centre location but do not want to spend a fortune. This hotel gives you all you need at very good price.
"Urgh... So many rickety stairs!"
10/14/13 propapanda1 Rotherham, United Kingdom
This trip was for me and my partner to go visit friends from university, and this hotel was quite conveniently located which is the only positive for me that I can think of about this hotel. We arrived in to check in and the receptionist tried to charge me for the room despite already having paid on the website. After showing her my confirmation emails she then realised there was a mix up though this took around 5 minutes with most of it saying how I was wrong. I got the keys and noticed we were on the top floor. We were told when breakfast would be and when we would check out. So we made our way up, we weren't escorted which does not surprise me, though there was no offer of it which does. So we went up the stairs; as you can see by the title were awfully rickety and; me not having a great thing for heights did not enjoy going up or down them. So we finally made it onto the top floor, the hotel was a little shabby on the way up but nothing too bad, fallen light fitting, ripped carpet. We got to the room and the door handles were loose... Great start I thought. and it took some gigging but we finally were able to open the door onto..... The tiniest room I have ever stopped in. It had a double bed in the middle of the room and about a foot of leg room around the bed. Needless to say opening the door fully was not possible. The en-suite was not to bad but only given one towel for the two of us... so my partner went to get another. In the meantime I went to get a more thorough look. The walls were all scuffed marked simply because of the lack of space, damage to the walls and even scuff marks on a pillow. The guess welcome pack was also grubby with so many scraps of paper with all the things that had changed over the course of the packs lifetime which looked considerable. That evening once we got back from friends we got back and went to lay down after a long day... again having to walk up the stairs which I hated. We could hear the rest of the occupants on the same floor and the walls are not thin. Fortunately all I could hear was talking but It could have been much much worse. That morning we woke I did not attend the breakfast but my partner did, my partner told be about the burnt croissants and pain au chocolates and the lack of what was on offer. Also the breakfast area was in the basement, how lovely I thought. Another night we spent and then it came to check out the next morning... we checked out on a Sunday and check out time is 10.30 which is very early in my experience. Though unusually reception did not open on a Sunday till that time, however there was a back post post for keys to check out... felt like thanks for your money now be on your way it didn't seem secure either just to leave the keys there. Service was poor all round. Apart from the cleaner who was very polite, though from the experience not very good at it. Overall, I would not stay in this place again, the premier inn seems like much more of an attractive option.

A group of us come over from Limerick every year to a rugby match at Tigers and we have been staying at this hotel since 2006 and will be returning again in Jan '14. I highly recommend this neat, very reasonably priced City Centre hotel for any visitor to Leicester
"Stayed for ten minutes then booked into premier inn"
10/10/13 Susan B Felixstowe, England, United Kingdom
We had to walk up lots of stairs with dirty ripped carpets (no lift) we got to the room door it looked like it had been kicked in at sometime we went into the room it was a really grotty room very dull and boring the bed covers looked grubby so did the towels when I opened the bed there was a hair the kind you don't want to see anywhere, I went in the shower room the shower was filthy, the basin was dirty, sat down gingerly on the bed looked at each other and said we can't stay here it is disgusting so we went on the internet and booked into the premier inn which was only £20 more for twin bed room .i have never been in such an dirty and depressing hotel
