Happy to have chosen here to stay
Nice staff, ample breakfast, parking on site or pleantiful in the immediate neighborhood. Pretty walk to city center by a few methods, but one must keep in mind that you must come back a good distance up a fairly steep incline. Of course, we had taxi and bus options available, so location should be no deterrent.

Great B&B
Great little B&B just outside of Bath! The breakfast was indeed quite delicious and I loved my little room (I stayed in one of the doubles on the top floor, and it was lovely and cozy). The staff were great and my entire stay was quite easy. As other reviewers have noted, the walk from Bath to the Astor house is uphill -- nothing too bad, but something to be aware for those who aren't in the best of health. Only complaint: the wifi didn't quite reach my room, so I had to sneak out into the hall or common room for email.

Nice but hard walk with luggage from train
Astor house is a lovely B&B just outside the heart of Bath. The gardens are beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible during our stay, so we didn't get to enjoy them, but in nicer weather it would have been a very relaxing place to rest in the evenings. My teenage daughter and I were travelling through England and I did my best to book places that were within walking distance from the train station. Astor house is less than a mile from the train station, so we planned to walk with our luggage. I wish someone had told me that the walk from the train station would be uphill practically the entire way!!! We also made a wrong turn (do not turn onto Upper Oldfield Road, wait one more street until Oldfield road!!), which was a costly error (probably doubled the walking distance). If I had known in advance that the walk would be uphill, I would have hired a taxi. We did the walk the other days that we visited Bath and it was not a problem without our luggage. We did call a taxi when we returned to the train station and the fair was 6 pounds. Money well spent!
