The Cathedral Hotel is centrally located and the staff were marvelous. Our family enjoyed our visit to the town and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. There is no parking, which can't be helped because of the location, but they gave clear instructions on town lots not too far away. We had a good dinner and full breakfast at the hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

Immaculate, most charming, a long way to go from London but well worth it. We would stay there again, it is a total wounderful surprice. I would recomment it to all my friends.Love it!!!

I only stayed at Wisteria for one night, I was doing a short trip to Stonehenge, so I wasn't there very long, but I really like the accommodation. It is a little outside of town, but it is actually pretty easily accessible by bus, the 7x, which I did not realize when I came in so I took a cab. Do your homework beforehand. I had a single room, and it was a nice size and good shower/facilities. There is no TV in the room, but there was a nice lounge area with a TV, games, tea kettle, et al. Felicity made the stay very easy and I can't say enough about her: I left my phone in my room and had a very short period of time before I was going to be leaving London. She worked with me by phone and email to overnight the phone to my London hotel before I left the UK. Highly recommend!

"Squeaky clean but squeaky room."
Immaculately clean hotel, excellent location, good breakfast & friendly staff. It was just that everything in our room squeaked -- the beds, the floor, the doors, and eventually, my missus. "Argyle Guest Lodge - Southampton"
We arrived late evenning, following a tiresome day. The hostess was more than happy to check us in with a smile and helpful advice regarding parking. Although a small car park, there was plenty of parking space along adjoining side roads. It happened to be Cowes week when we stayed so spaces were at a premium. Short walk to the train station and town […] centre. Rooms are extremely well maintained, modern, clean and comfortable. I was delighted by the in-room facilities, especially choice of the coffee facilities. Breakfast is extremely good value, with a wide choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and jams. "B&B Advantages - near to downtown"
My room was very clean and came complete with the all important kettle and beverage supplies I require to breathe let alone face a day. While there was some street noise filtering into the room, it did quiet down - and around 2am I awoke and felt I must be in the countryside it was so quiet. "Good place to stay pre cruise"
The guest house was well located and an easy walk into Southampton for shopping and eating. The room was comfortable and clean including the bathroom. Wir waren 4 Nächte im Argyle Lodge in ein Doppelzimmer mit Bad und sehr zufrieden. Innenstadt und Bahnhof sind zu Fuß leicht zu erreichen. "Frukosten toppen, både uvalet och servicen"
Den var mkt bra, det enda som saknades var stolar någonstans förutom till frukosten, vi fick sitta i sängen vilket inte kändes så bra. Det fanns heller ingen sittplats utanför hotellet vilket var ett litet minus. "Not that their service is bad but..."
The hotel itself is well-maintained, clean and they offer good breakfast. Just they are not nice and welcoming in their attitude. I don't know what made them so dislike me, but they clearly were not friendly or warm and welcoming at all. More annoying thing was that they were much "nice" and "kind" to other guests. Really, what was so irritaing about […] me? I wonder. Even if the hotel facilities were poorer (e.g., no TV in the room and no nice paitings on the wall etc.), I would have liked the hotel and the sevice much better, and would have surely rated better, ONLY if they had better "attitude". Remember, hospitality is all about how you treat your guests with your heart, especially if you are going to state your hotel as more "stars" on websites and charge money by offering "sevices". Mit der Landguard Road liegt das "Argyle" mit dem Auto gut erreichbar etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums (fussläufig etwa 25min bis zur High Street - zu den Docks, Ocean Village etc. etwa 40min) im Stadtteil Shirley in einem typischen Wohngebiet ohne Highlights in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Hier reiht sich mittlerweile ein Bed&Breakfast an das andere, jeweils […] in 2-3 stöckigen Doppelhaushälften. Das "Argyle" ist eines davon und entspricht absolut den Erwartungen. Familiär geführt, sauber und ordentlich. Durchschnittliche Zimmergröße, vernünftige Betten, natürlich Wasserkocher mit Tee und Kaffee. Frühstück inkl. "full english" (mit baked beans, ham and eggs etc.). Kostenloses Parken. Zusammgefasst: Klassisches englisches Bed&Breakfast, sauber, ordentlich und seinen Preis wert.
