Hotelli sijaitsee Southamptonin Polygonin alueella, joka on tunnettu opiskelija-alue.Kyseinen hotelli sijaitsee rauhallisella alueella, noin 20minuutin kävelymatkan päästä keskustasta.Sijainti on korkeiden asuntojen ympäröimänä,joten suosittelen ottamaan ilmaisen kaupungin kartan, joita hotelli lahjoittaa.
"Good value, warm welcome, super location"
02/01/15 Lionel L Hampshire, United Kingdom
I've stayed here a couple of times now. Both times with my wife for a show at Mayflower Theatre. We initially went there for location and just the necessities i.e. a bed and a breakfast. However, we went back for a second stay because we were dealt with really well with a lovely warm welcome. There's good choice of breakfast and the facilities and room were working and/or clean. The landlord keeps a low profile but that might be because he does his thing i.e. make a great breakfast. The landlady is really helpful and friendly and appears genuinely interested about your stay without being nosey. The website booking facility doesn't work so we called them direct and got a discount for direct booking so you might try that first. As for location, it's literally 5-6 minutes from the theatre with very popular restaurants on the main drag (book in advance or you will be disappointed). I'm not sure I understand the parking issue. It wasn't an issue for us on either occasion and we road parked both times. There is some on the forecourt and the parking on the road offers two hours and then free after 18.00 until 08.00 in the morning or free all weekend. I guess if you are planning on leaving your car on a side road in any major city you are going to encounter minor difficulties but that's because residents and local business (rightly) need space for their cars too. The doors banging is unavoidable in any hotel or B&B. It's the fire closers on the doors. They are there for a reason and really not that much of a bother. I'm a light sleeper and it didn't bother me either time. Free wifi pretty quick and reliable. In summary, we'll be going back for sure.
"Convenient and Comfortable"

I stayed here last weekend for one night before a Southampton Solent open day. The owner is lovely and she produced an excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice. Our room was a comfortable twin which was clean and where everything we wanted was provided including free wifi and tea/coffee/chocolate making facilities plus sachets in the bathroom. The shower in the bathroom was excellent and, yes, the lights are on a timer but that didn't worry us one bit. The location was excellent for the city centre which we visited on foot.
"Good and Bad"

The owner was lovely. Don't get the front room. The hall light stays on for all hours and is visible under the door. You hear other guests opening and closing the front door until quite late. The bathroom light works on a sensor, but doesn't seem to know you are in the shower, and you end up in the dark, having to open the shower door and trying to get the sensor to turn back on.
"Good stay in Southampton on a Budget"

Whilst attending a cruise conference last week I decided to stay away from the conference hotels, and found this small hotel. A few people stayed here prior to going on a cruise the next day. It is about 10 mins drive down to the various terminals so allow extra time on sailing days for taxis. Whilst I booked a basic single due to availability, my advice would be to book rooms within ensuite as the bathrooms can be down on another floor not just next door so to speak. I have to say the place was very clean and well kept so no issues there. My room was perfectly adequate with wardrobe tv washbasin and a bed , towels and even a hair dryer. Friendly welcome from the owners and a very good breakfast to start the day with good choice of cereals and hot food. If you are looking very reasonably priced accommodation for few days or an overnight prior to a cruise then Argyle could fit the bill One point , on this street there are a lot of small Hotels with limited space for parking so bear that in mind.

The room was comfortable and clean with the usual tea/coffee facilites as expected. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices. No problem sleeping in the single bed of the twin en suite. Landlady & Landlord great hosts and welcoming. Not sure if reviewer "winpig" was staying at the same B&B or just expected the facilities of a hotel??? All in all a great place to stay as their full booking list testifies! Hopefull, will be back next year.........need to win the match next time!!!!!!
"Two night stay at B&B"

Everything about the stay was more than adequate. I paid for bed and breakfast and got bed and breakfast. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was good and I got what I asked for, fresh cooked and hot! Odd shower unit, very noisy, but it worked. Parking on forecourt ok. Although you may have to park on-street and some distance away if forecourt full. No nasty surprises. Would I go there again if I was visiting Southampton? Yes if on my own, but not as a family.

"FOUR STAR! What a joke!"
12/10/13 winpig Los Angeles
Booked this laughingly called four star B and B expecting well at least something reasonable No mention was made of bathroom being "down the hall" / floor was wet in bathroom which was in fact a very cheaply built utility shower and toilet. Light in bathroom on a timer so second half of shower was in the dark! / rang bell at front door was met with unfriendly male voice saying name! Then a long pause and "come in" / stairs and room very loud creaks all night/ bedcover thin and worn. / no closet space as wardrobe full of landlords junk!/ tiniest TV I ever saw / hard to sleep with creaks/ breakfast cheap quality but adequate./ another guest arrived only 3 minutes late for breakfast and was refused hot food by the landlord. Landlord seemed to delight in refusing the guest. I believe it was VERY poor value. Landlady pleasant enough but the landlord bordering on rude.avoid this disaster.did not bother to complain as I couldn't wait to get out. Nieghbourhood quite grungy. It did not seem safe at night on the street.

myself , other half and son stayed at the Argyle on our trip to catch a cruise, therefore stopped at this quaint guest house around 15 min walk from city center for two nights. e had a cosy cute room up top, comfy beds, nice and airy , and a regular bathroom with all the necessities even shampoo and gels in little cute packets . there is even a vanity in the bedroom with mirror. we did not use the parking spaces up front as did not have a car. breakfast was good. cooked breakfast, the full works, tea coffee cereals, all types, and hot porridge for the little one . orange juice was good. the lady judith, is very nice and accomodating and was most helpful for everything we needed and gave us advice on places to dine . would stay here again if i were to come back to southampton. the walk to town is just fine, its a nice walk and good to walk off the evening meal but not too much to be exhausted.
"2 night stay"

Just enjoyed 2 nights in a cosy double room , small bathroom but clean and adequate. Nice to have plenty of refreshment provided in room. Bed was comfortable, good sleep.Enjoyed friendly breakfast with more choice than expected. There is parking but limited space , plenty of street space OK overnight. Will use again.
