The Cathedral Hotel is centrally located and the staff were marvelous. Our family enjoyed our visit to the town and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. There is no parking, which can't be helped because of the location, but they gave clear instructions on town lots not too far away. We had a good dinner and full breakfast at the hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

Spent three nights here and was very comfortable. Charming house with great garden. The hosts were very friendly and everything was spotless. Breakfast was in true English style in the elegant dining room. I recommend the eggs with smoked salmon.

the Fenland guest house proprieter was very nice. My only complaint was that the room was cold and it seemed that during the afternoon the heat was turned off.

"Excellent hotel run by a friendly family"
This hotel is run by a husband and wife team who are the nicest people you could want to meet. The room was good sized, very clean, and had an excellent bed and facilities. The hotel (actually house) appears to be at full occupancy most of the time. About two-thirds of the guests appeared to be professional folks with relatively new jobs in Amesbury, […] living elsewhere in England, who may eventually find a permanent place to live in Amesbury. Breakfast is served in a large, well-furnished room in the basement. It is cooked by the husband and served by a friendly local lady. They have an arrangement with a nearby car park where you can leave your car overnight. It is a wonderful place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. "Lovely character building"
It is a lovely building, which is obviously still improving. A renovation plan is underway and is being tastefully done. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast. I enjoyed our stay at Fairlawn, which was close to event we had booked. It's great value for money, with nice size rooms, lovely friendly owners, pleasant decor, and a relaxed, informal vibe. I slept well even though our room faced the road. The breakfast was great, and the lady who served us very relaxed yet professional. I would definitely stay here […] again if I was in the area. We didn't explore the local village much, but there are a couple of half decent tpubs to try, and the Indian restaurant which is almost next door is excellent. The only problem I had was with the plumbing to the shower - I couldn't get the balance between hot & cold any where near right so opted for cold rather than scaulding. "Friendly Service"
This establishment is not a full Hotel, but like a Guest House plus. It was suitable for our needs, since it was located in the Town Centre and within reach of all services. The room had a standard double bed and we would have preferred a king size or twin, but we did not specify this when booking. The bed was comfortable and the the en suite was acceptable. […] We were pleasantly surprised to find the room peaceful, because it was overlooking the main High Street and we thought that it might be noisy. If we were staying here again (which we hope to), then we would go for the twin room. We stayed for one night but had a lovely time. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the family room was clean and comfortable and a good size for two adults and a child. It is close to local shops and pubs, where we had a lovely meal at a reasonable price. The hotel had a lovely lounge/bar room and it was great they had toys in there for my son […] to play with which meant we could realx. Firstly, please check the address - this hotel is in Amesbury NOT Salisbury, which is about 8 miles away, although this wasn't a problem to us! The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful. It is in the town centre, very close to shops, pubs etc and only two miles or so from Stonehenge. So if you are using it as an o/night stay […] before seeing Stonehenge, as we were, then it's ideal. The evening meal was great quality and good value. Also loved the, what amounted to an 'all you can eat' type full English breakfast. Parking is via a permit (ask at reception) on an adjacent Health Centre's car park by the way, although there might also be limited 'on-street' parking (can't remember - we used the car park!). La Guest House a été reprise en 2010 par une nouvelle famille. Les points positifs : accueil très aimable, salon convivial au rez de chaussée, petit déjeuner correct (english breakfest). Salle de douche manifestement refaite récemment. La propreté de la chambre était très bien sauf... fils de poussière dans le lustre et au plafond. Dommage. Si j'avais […] alerté tout de suite, je suis sur cela aurait été fait immédiatement, mais je ne l'ai dit que le lendemain matin, au moment de partir. La dame m'a assuré qu'elle serait plus vigilante sur ce point. L'insonorisation extérieure était très correcte ; mais pour l'intérieur, je pense que s'il y avait eu des voisins indélicats nous les aurions entendus. Ce ne fut heureusement pas le cas. Il y a un arrangement pour le parking, si vous venez en voiture. L'atmosphère est sympathique, et on voit que l'équipe se donne du mal. C'est donc un très bon choix pour les budgets limités.
