"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

I did a lot of research on hotels in NYC for this trip. It turned out all the work paid off. Pretty new, clean, quiet hotel at a very convenient location, only 1 min to the 39th Ave station on N/Q line, which will take to you the heart of the city. The only down sites is that we didn't like the pillows, and the breakfast is a bit pricy considering what's […] served. Read more
"two-day stay"
I chose this hotel because of it's location and the promised view of Manhattan. If driving the location is convenient indeed, although locals shared that the neighborhood is not very safe to walk through at night. Upon entering I was met by a cold Indian receptionist who never smiles or makes eye contact. Both the hotel and my room were very clean and […] convenient. My only issue was that the thermostat could not be adjusted higher than 72 degrees and after awhile would reset itself to cold 66-67 degrees and there is nothing more pleasant than being awaken on a freezing rainy day by a blast of cold air in your face. I paid too dollar for a room with Manhattan view, but from the ninth floor the view was I strictest by a talk building right across the street, so I could enjoy a view of industrial Long Island and a small part of the Manhattan skyline. I'm sure one could get a much better view from the too few floors, but my view was quite disappointing. Read more

"Size of the hotel room"
The rooms are to small for the price.
"Great Stay"
Helpful and courteous staff. Great hotel.
"Holiday Inn - Long Island City - Manhattan View"
First of all, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean and the room had a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline and all its major architectural landmark buildings. The neighborhood is surrounded by various restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. We felt safe walking late at night.
"Holiday Inn - Long Island"
Enjoyed the stay here. Great price for being so close to Manhattan, just a 10 min. train ride. Will surely stay here next time.
"holiday inn astoria"
We found the hotel room noisy with frequent on/off noises from the heating/cooling system. Parking is a problem. Overall, a good value.
"Great Hotel"
The hotel is new and the personnel is very friendly. The hotel is conveniently located near a subway station.
This is a nice hotel, but it's not a place to stay if you want to be in the center of activity. The restaurant staff was found to be very attentive and helpful.
"Hard Bed and Pillows"
This hotel had the worst bed and pillows I've ever slept on. The sheets had stains on them and the bed was so uncomfortable. The view of NYC was spectacular from my room but if I can't sleep comfortably, I'm not happy.

"Great view"
The view of Manhattan is incredible! The subway/train is conveniently only 2 short blocks from the hotel. The surrounding neighborhood is not so good, but appears to be improving. The corner market directly across from the hotel has yummy sandwiches and there is a small pharmacy a half block away. Room service was outstanding. All in all, a good ex […] perience. Read more
"Close to the train, but rooms a bit small"
There was very little wrong with the hotel. In fact, I can't say there really was much wrong, at all. I did get charged more for some room service I ordered than I expected to pay--perhaps they charged dinner prices and only printed in the menu those for lunch? Either way, it was unexpected (though the food was not bad). Not a whole lot to do in the […] surrounding neighborhood after hours, but the train is close by and it's only two stops away from Manhattan. Book ahead to get decent price--I booked with a couple days notice and paid about twice as much as I would have with even a few more days' notice. All in all, a good, clean hotel with a room that was, admittedly, a bit small (but which did have the promised Manhattan view). Read more
Overall the hotel is good; location is fine but do not believe when they said its Manhattan view; the Manhattan view only for a smaller room, the room are not what in the picture and the swimming pool are very small. For the price you pay you can get a better hotel.
"Did the job"
I stayed here the night before my wedding. It served it's purpose. Front desk is lacking in friendliness and basic knowledge. Housekeeping and the kitchen are great. Their parking is nil and not easily available. The best thing about this hotel is the view. But don't expect the front desk to make you feel welcome. You have to do that on your own.

"Holiday Inn-Long Island City"
The hotel was verily nice, room was smaller than expected but the view was fantastic. Overall stay was very nice; the only complaint was the in-house restaurant. We were seated and our order taken, but 45 minutes later the host/waiter came back and asked what did we order (this after he seemed to have written it down). "Stay like a real New Yorker"
The train is two blocks away and gets you to Times Square in about fifteen minutes. Neighborhood isn't the best to wander around looking for local foods late at night. CANT BEAT THE VIEW OF MANHATTAN! Go at least 11th floor to not be blocked by adjacent buildings. Parking can be a hassle. Greasy smears on the balcony window made wonder how clean the […] room was i but never found anything wrong with the sheets or bathroom. Read more

"Best Western City View"
We enjoyed our stay here! The clerk who checked us in was very polite and helpful. She said, "We are small here, like a family," and that basically was true. The breakfast was very good and maintained very well. I will say that the mattresses or box springs of both beds were not in good shape. However, we slept fine on them. The shuttle service is helpful, […] running one complete round-trip to the subway station per day per family, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Would've liked it to be a bit later, though, because two days we had to find our way back late, and the surrounding area is very industrial, not the greatest. It was definitely a plus to not have to pay for parking. Lot was well-lit. Our room was good-sized, nice for a family of four, including teens. Spent very little time here because of touring the city. Would definitely stay here again if we return. Read more

"Holiday Inn-Long Island City.. Outstanding Stay!"
I just returned a few days ago from my stay in NYC and the Holiday Inn-Long Island City. It was fantastic. First of all the hotel is very clean, large rooms, comfortable beds, and up-to-date furnishings. We were on the 15th floor and the view was outstanding! It is super convenient to the subway (two minute walk) and although the surrounding neighborhood […] looks a little run-down, I did not feel unsafe. In fact, the people working at the deli/store across the street where I bought coffee and incidentals every day were extremely nice and helpful. As far as the staff of the Holiday Inn, they were also outstanding. They were helpful in giving directions, subway help, etc. and they even let us store our bags after we checked out so we could spend a bit more time in the city before our flight left in the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I certainly will be back! Read more
"PERFECT!!"
Perfect Room! Perfect People! Perfect Location! Perfect View!
"Excellent"
No complaints
"Great price no hotel parking!"
No hotel parking u must park on the street! Other than that it was cool for the price. 10 minutes from the city if that!
"Great July 4th weekend!"
Holiday Inn Long Island City was a great location to get into Manhattan as well as enjoy great food and museums in the Astoria area. The rooms were large, clean with great floor to ceiling windows and awesome views. This hotel was a great value and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is definitely on my return again list!!!
We went to NY to see Manhattan on vacation, and for our needs this was a very good hotel for a good price. It is one block to the subway and 4 stops to the Heart of the City, Times square. This hotle is one of several new hotels for tourists so we weren't alone. I give this hotel a very good recomendation
"Holiday Inn - Long Island City - Good to stay"
This hotel is walking distance from 39 Avenue, subway which takes approx 20 min to go to Times square. Me and my wife spend 3 nights in this hotel and roam around all famous attractions of NY including fireworks on independence day which was great experience to watch. In the night while coming back from subway to hotel, it was a bit deserted as it was […] complete dark, otherwise the hotel stay was pleasant and smooth. Read more

"Great deal - very close to Manhattan!"
Super close to subway and only two subway stops to Manhattan - very easy to get into city. Parking at hotel is minimal to say the least...but a parking lot is one block away and is cheaper than parking in the hotel and its gated/fenced. There is a small hotel bar but head to Manhattan, better bars! Rooms were VERY nice and clean - I would recommend […] and it's 1/2 as much as staying in the city. Read more

"good deal in Queens"
The location is very good for the train station.at night more quiet ,there're not many shops or stores open there.the room was clean when i stayed there and bed is very comfortable.you have to stay there for vacations from the prices are not too expensive if you compare to any hotels in Manhattan:)
"Perfect location to CitiBank Building"
CitiGroup Building is just 10 mins away during rush hour! Perfect!
"Good clean hotel, good location"
Close to Manhattan and subway lines JMZ and QR. Street parking (free) is fairly easy to find, esp. on weekend. Safe neighborhood. Small-ish fitness room with cardio equipment (with little TV's!) and weights. Restaurant is pricey- didnt eat there. Good hotel. Would stay again.
The room was alittle small but definately cozy. I was under the impression I was gettin a view of the manhattan skyline, but instead I was in another room. If you want to view the manhatan skyline be sure to call in advance to request a room on that side of the building.
See above.
"Holiday Inn - Manhattan View"
The subway was very close and it directly connected the hotel to times square. This was really convenient. The only inconvenience was the really tight hours of the hotel restaurant. The restaurant closed at 9.30 PM and there was no room service either after that. and the room temperature was slightly on the colder side. It was great in all other aspects. […] The room was very nice and comfortable. Pretty cheap..in fact, it was cheaper than many of the good hostels if you are looking at private rooms for more than one person. Read more
"Reasonable Priced stay - convenient location"
This was a great hotel for a reasonable price. So close to Manhattan on the train- 2 stops and very convenient to and from the La Guardia airport. My only complaint was that the location of my room must have been right above the vent-a-hood of the restaurant, because my room smelled just like I was standing in the kitchen at meal time. The staff was […] friendly and very helpful and the neighborhood around the hotel is quaint and has many conveniences. Good restaurants, bakeries, stores, etc. Read more
