We stayed in the second smallest room (the Roucoule), on above the inn's fantastic restaurant. It has slanted ceilings reinforced by old timbers, since it is an attic room, but had a big, comfortable bed, full bath that was newly refurbished, and a table chair/window overlooking the main courtyard, where you can play chess with oversized pieces. The restaurant's goats and cows can be heard from your room with your window open (not overwhelming, but nice), and the restaurant is the best we've been to in Normandy. The breakfast spread is substantial and is included in the "half-board" along with the medium level of the hotel dinner menu, which was quite extensive. Fantastic choice, and less than 10 minutes from the Normandy beaches. Plenty of free parking, and you can wander around the grounds to get a view of the surrounding countryside.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Adagio in Caen Centre while I was on a week-long business trip in town. The studio room was perfect for us because it gave us a kitchen in which to cook for ourselves part of the time, instead of eating out every meal. There are a couple grocery stores within easy walking distance, one just outside the hotel entrance. The staff was very friendly, spoke English well, and helped us out anytime we needed it. The location couldn't be better: right on the Orne River within a short walk of restaurants, shopping, nightclubs and city attractions. Highly recommend!

i had to take a train to st. Lazare early in the morning. This hotel is just 3 min away from the train so its very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. All in all very nice stay for that price. Internet is a bit slow. No safe in the room.

"La Grand Hotel" was built in the late 19th century, sited on the edge of the beach. The city of Cabourg is a very beautiful, clean city. It looks like "The Shrek's Kingdom". It has the fairy tale feel because every buildings are perfectly layout. When you open the hotel room window, you feel like in the paradise. The sound and smell of ocean mediate […] your soul and body. Walking along the "boardwalk" gives you a luxurious feeling. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel should nit be 5 star- no pool- no spa as stated- paper cups for tea and coffee in room - deliveries and emptying of bottle banks and lorries reversing with the reversing beep going constantly below our room and lawn mowers being fired up at 6 am ! Hotel charges 24 euros for nothing special breakfast- also do not have own private part of beach […] - charge you 40 euros a day to for 2 sun loungers and parasol - we had 5 people so 80 euros and one didnt have x 7 dsys 560 euros total and 24 euros a day x 5 for breakfast - 120 euros a day x 7 - crazy never worth it - restaurant crazy prices dong mind paying if food amazing but was not - would not recommend stay in a properly rated 5 star hotel- one positive bed very comfortable - but too noisy outside to enjoy it ! Having stayed in many Hotels throughout the World in my time I thought by booking a 5 star Hotel I would get 5 star treatment. Not so with the Housekeeping staff, the complimentary bottle of water put in the room on the first day was the only one we received despite having drunk nearly all the water on the second day, we were booked for a 4 day stay, […] on the 3rd day the soap was not replenished nor the breakfast tea bags , and on the 4th day things went from bad to worse I had to go to Reception to ask for breakfast tea bags milk, bath oil, and body lotion, for the cost of the Hotel I expect not to have to ask for these items. Another point, why in a 5 star Hotel do they provide plastic cups for your use, this is unacceptable. I would have liked to direct my comments to the Hotel Manager but could not find an e mail address for him or her, the sad thing is my comments will probably be dismissed a pity I would like to have had some feedback about my comments. L'hôtel est très bien situé et le service est à la hauteur de la réputation de cet établissement. Les lits sont confortables et notre chambre (pour trois avec notre petite fille) était spacieuse.Quelques remarques cependant : la salle de bains n'est pas digne d'un 5 étoiles : trop petite, pas de tablettes de rangement des affaires de toilette, douche […] dont nous avons du nettoyer le pommeau afin que le jet soit à peine satisfaisant. Par ailleurs, l'insonorisation laisse à désirer, on entendait nettement la télévision de la chambre voisine. Ce ne sont cependant pas des défauts qui nous empêcherons de revenir. Read more

Très bonne impression mais je regrette le passage permanent de touristes en mal de curiosité à l'intérieur de l'hôtel, touristes surtout intéressés par les sanitaires. Dans ce genre d'établissement je pense qu'il devrait être possible de bénéficier de plus de discrétion et tranquiité.

Very nice hotel in beautiful surroundings. Nice rooms, good place to stay for a long weekend or mid-week. Superb breakfast. The hotel seems to draw a lot of couples with very young children, which was especially obvious at breakfast. In addition, the hotel has no pool or parking.

Etablissement au site exceptionnel et au luxe de bon goût, lié au souvenir émouvant de l'époque de Marcel Proust. On peut toutefois déplorer que les réfections intérieures récentes tendent vers un modernisme médiocre, tristounet et déplacé dans un tel lieu. C'est dommage.
