"Great Holiday stay"
11/22/15 cuestac melbourne
We were her for 7 nights in October 2015, very nice welcome and very happy with our room, had an awesome view and enjoyed our small whirlpool terrace. The room was well appointed and nightly turn down service was nice (mosquito spayed also) . Good variety at breakfast, but the buggy did get a bit monotonous to get to your room and back. Glad we stayed here easy walk to the much quieter Surin beach., Was very happy we were away from the hustle and bustle of Patong. Would recommend if you don't want to have kids around on your holiday. Staff were very friendly, and had a very nice massage and dinner. Room service was very nice- try their crab burger...YUMM

"Great place, value for money so so"

Stayed there for 5 days in November 2015. Starting with the few areas of improvement: the first impression wasn't good: check in with Kanthinee from the front desk was somehow cold, a bit unfriendly. Not something you would expect in a place that sells luxury experience. Despite the processes in place i.e. a hot towel and drink on arrival, we did not feel welcome. This anecdote illustrates the type of service during our stay: while everybody delivered on the basics, it felt impersonal, not warm -which we would have accepted better in a 2 star hotel/ big chain. The hotel really lacked of some concierge / basic local expertise (despite the tour operator onsite). When we asked for tips on where to have dinner, we merely received one recommendation + a generic phuket magazine with restaurant ads. Again, at 240€ per night you would expect a bit better. Make it personal please! Despite that first impression, we did enjoy our stay very much, because the hotel's infrastructures are trully impressive and well taken care of. Our private villa was very spacious and comfortable, with a view from our bed. We liked a lot the terrasse which was perfect for a drink at sunset or simply to dry out swimming suits. The swimming pool is lovely, one of the best I have experienced: big, beautiful, with charming decoration and gardens around. It is also quiet since the place does not accept kids. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of dishes and fresh juices made on demand - staff was very efficient there. Location is good: 5 minute walk to the nice Surin beach or 2 minutes with free buggy service. The hotel gives you membership cards to 2 beach/restaurant where you get towels and sunbeds. Because the hotel is on a steep hill, you always need to call for a buggy to get to the lobby/pool/breakfast from and to your room. Although it is very fast, it can get a bit annoying :) Check out also with Kanthinee: effective, but again, unfriendly. We were not even asked if we had a pleasant stay... Come on! Even in 2 star hotels they asked this. Overall, the place has everything to be great but it is expensive for the service you are getting. Exceptions were: evening room service staff (a lot happier than average) and Sonalee from the front desk. Also the young lady that helped us rent a bike. Thank you.

"It was okay...."

Stayed here for 3nights and had mixed feelings. Pros - Staff friendly - Rooms were spacious - Snack on pillows each night - Nice view - Outdoor whirlpool as part of the cottage/room Cons - Too much road noise - Swimming pool suffered from too much road noise and lacked ambience - The resort could do would another pool higher up - Lots of stairs to get from reception to room (although a buggy is provided it seems to be non operational at times as there is no one to drive it) - Breakfast was ok- had lots of choices but could be presented better - Bed had a firm mattress (I found it hard to sleep on the first night) - Water by the pool wasn't free and was charged at 40bhat+tax+service for a small bottle - hate it when hotels do this - Resort wasn't at full occupancy and they could have easily upgraded us to a room away from the road - Hard to get attention of waiters pool side Overall a nice hotel for a few days but seems like it could do with an update. Not a bad stay but I wouldn't stay here again.

"A second visit and still wonderful"

A second time back to Ayara Hilltops. I loved it again. Great location (if you don't want to be mid-chaos but want to still be near the action when you need it!), near to some terrific restaurants, buggies to take you up and down without any delays, love the nearby beaches. But of course, the stand out factor for Ayara Hilltops are the people who work there. Yet again, superb service. A particular shout out for Sumalee, who just constantly goes beyond the extra mile. Thank you. The team at breakfast who greet so warmly and within a day get to know exactly how long you want your eggs cooked for! (Also a shout out to Taste restaurant nearby, which we loved and kept going back to!).

"Almost Perfect!"

We booked the pool villa and it has amazing views of the beach! We almost lived in the villa pool for the 4 days we were there. Although the room is showing some signs of wear and tear, it was clean and the bed was huge and really comfortable. The living room area is separated from the sleeping area/bathroom by the pool and if it's raining, you could only stay in 1 place. But no worries, there are umbrellas provided within the villa. However, there are LOTS OF STEPS to the villa. We always walked down but walking up is a like doing a vertical marathon. We always call for the buggy. For those less mobile, you may wish to be more patient as there seemed be only 1 buggy for the resort. The turn down service is excellent and staff there are always there to help. We only had to glance up for 2 seconds and help came immediately. Just 5 mins walk from Surin beach and the beach clubs. Eateries are aplenty but Surin beach tend to be a little quiet ,and probably not as happening as Patong Beach (i love the peace though). We did not try the massage but the in-room dining was not too expensive and the quality is good. The spice restaurant (had lunch) was pretty delicious too. Breakfast was overall ok, some hits and misses and variety was not huge. But the foods are often changed and freshly made. I totally recommend the cooking class! We had sooooo much fun and our chef was a fantastic lady. We could eat what we cooked for lunch! If you're looking for luxurious 5-star hilton kind accommodation, this is probably not for you. But if you're looking for relaxation, go for it and you'll have the best time!

"Staff make this place"

This is our second stay at this hotel. It is located on the hillside, you need to cross the road and it's a 5 minute walk to Surin Beach. The staff are extremely friendly and professional, a great asset to the hotel. The rooms are large and spacious with private balcony/terrace areas to sit or sunbathe. If you are not very good or fit at walking up steps this hotel is not for you.

"Our third visit.."

This place is our go to spot when booking a holiday in Thailand. It's been our third stay and as usual the staff have been lovely, the breakfast options are fab (as is the restaurant), and I love that it's an adults only resort - truly relaxing! Already looking forward to coming back next year!

We've been in Ayara for 11 days, which was amazing. The welcome is with flowers and cocktails, the room is mch more nicer than in the pictures, pretty big, with living room, jauzzi , outdoor and indoor rainfall showers and indoor bathtub.Every night one of the staff passing by in the room to give you some homemade cookies and check if you need something. For my birthday, I had a free massage in serenity spa( amazing spa, very professional and good product), and a birthday cake, that was a very good surprise!! The breakfast is complete (smoked salmon, bacon, fresh juice, homemade bakery, and a very tasty homemade white and dark chocolate to put on the waffle!!!fabulous!!) the staff is very friendly and helpful (they can organize excursions, taxi,..)On our last day,we had a free late check out, this guys make everything to fell you like home!! thanks you for this amazing stay, so hard to leave!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our 12 night holiday. Arrived to handmade flower garlands , cold towels and juice. We had booked a courtyard suite - which was upgraded to a deluxe suite. Absolutely stunning - sea view , outside jacuzzi and shower. The bed was turned down nightly - with flowers and biscuits on pillows. The hotel staff were incredible , very friendly , helpful - anticipated what you would like , so sunbathing by the pool they would bring towels , get fresh drinks. Food was delicious , although the menu was the same for lunch or dinner .E very thing was beautifully presented . Loads of choices at breakfast and once they knew preferences would automatically offer them. The reception team were great booked the spa for us , they had a jet lag offer two for one on a couples massage - my husband isn't normally keen on spa treatments but even he raved about this , and the spa is spotless and the masseurs found every knot . The last evening the hotel organised s booking to Baan Rim Pa which overlooks the beach , arranged a taxi both ways - all with complete provision . The whole complex is built on a hill with terracing - it is dotted with water features and special touches , water lilies , flowers , manicured to perfection. The hotel is a brief walk to Surin beach - they give you complementary membership to 2 beach clubs , but the weather wasn't great when we were there so didn't use these. Surin has a small shopping centre ' the Plaza' which had interesting clothes shops and s great jewellry store . There are a couple of coffee places and small supermarkets all within walking distance . Really lived this hotel will define toy go back next time in Phuket .
