I was pleased with the EPIC hotel, but was surprised it was lacking in certain areas (newspapers were not provided each morning, nor were they available for purchase in the hotel), the neighborhood was not particularly wonderful and I was extremely disappointed in the fact that my friends and I who stayed in the hotel had to wait in line with people […] who were NOT guests of the hotel to get into KYMA. We also had to pay a cover charge to get into the club. As a guest of the hotel, I would have expected to get entry before outside guests and no cover charge since I was paying to stay in the hotel. This really rubbed me the wrong way and after talking to my friends who also stayed in the hotel with us, we will look elsewhere the next time we are travelling to Miami. This was our first time in Downtown Miami, we normally stay in Miami Beach and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is beautiful, our room was very comfortable and the view was satisfactory. I would have preferred a waterview, but I didn't realize it was an option so I didnt' ask for it. Our room was right off the elevator bay so it was quite noisy, […] but that is to be expected for the location. The AREA31 Restaurant was Excellent and the KYMA Lounge was incredible, but I would have expected hotel guests to be preferred entry. We had to wait in a line to gain entry to the club, several of the members in our party decided to go back to their rooms rather than wait in the line. Staff were very attentive, I would consider returning, but we would probably travel to another dance club next trip. My friends were not pleased with the wait. Read more

when I arrive to hotel,they sold my room. I was reguested and book 2 queens with sofa but they sold all that rooms and they had only one king room avail.They didnt even upgrade or do anything. There is not one thing negative to say about this hotel; from its luxurious accommodations to its great restaurants/lounges, the stay was wonderful! To boot, the staff was always smiling and quite helpful. Cannot wait to make a return trip to the EPIC in Miami!

We stayed here pre & post cruise. The location was perfect. It was just a few minutes from resturants, the Bayside Marketplace, and the Port of Miami. This hotel is very modern and the furnishings are very nice. The staff was most helpful, friendly, and very professional. Our room had very nice views of the bay and downtown area. This hotel was unbelievable from the minute you walk in. The hotel is so beautiful, the room was out of this world, and it was huge with a jacuzzi tub and balcony overlooking the pool. The staff was so friendly and recommended a great place for brunch. The gym and pool are perfect for relaxation and they have trendy lounges in the hotel, with an awesome […] DJ. Downsides: downtown Miami has nothing going on, so we drove to South Beach every day, but it's only 10 min over the bridge. Also, valet at the hotel is $30/night, which is steep for Miami. Stayed June 25th for one night. Booked city view room and was immediately upgraded to water view upon arrival. I recommed the water view. The balcony's are huge and the view may be unrivaled in downtown Miami. Room was comtemporary and clean. Everything in the room and hotel had a quality feel. Some hotels look nice at a glance but upon closer inspection […] are cheap imitations of wood and metal. None of that at the Epic. The hotel isn't five stars and that's obvious but it is the the benchmark for what a 4-4.5 star hotel should be. I see the star ratings on some of the hotels I've stayed in and they don't compare to the Epic and many cost more. The pool area was pretty nice and the surrounding area seemed really safe. That may explain why there were three yachts docked at the hotel. Service was friendly but not forced. I've stayed at many nice hotels around the country but outside of Las Vegas I've never recieved such a great value in a hotel. Stay here instead of paying more money for a less nice hotel on SOBE. My stay at the Epic was great the staff gets a 10 for custmer service. My Balcony view was excellence facing towards the Ports. I also sign up for the Kimpton membership.

EVERYONE who worked at the hotel was amazing! New my name upon check in, offered me a glass of wine or food. I would stay here and recommend this hotel to everyone. Another guge suggestion is paying a few bucks extra and book yourself the Club LVL level. SO worth it!

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Nice Miami style, luxury yatchs, lambourhenis, etc. parked in front. An "in-place" to stay but quiet as well. Are 31 great rest.

This was a perfect overnight stop-over between 2 weeks in South America and returning home to Texas! We were grateful for an early check-in, as we had been traveling all night. No coffee pot in room, but complimentary coffee/tea available in lobby in morning. Rooms are lovely and have gorgeous bathrooms and lots of amenities. Beautiful pool area and […] restaurant/bar. We had a wonderfull stay in the Epic. To a person, the staff was attentive, friendly, and very well trained. The Hotel is centrally located, and easy to access. The facility is new, very clean and well appointed. Highly recommended!

Hotel and staff were great! As a frequent 5 star traveler this place did not disappoint! Stayed in the club level and the staff was excellent. Highly suggest Zuma too! I will return on my next trip to Miami!

Rooms, service, clubs, pool, view were all amazing. My girlfriend so happen to be on crutches the weekend I stayed over but the staff was so friendly an helpful our stay was amazing. Last but not least if you have somewhere to be please do not lay in any of the epic beds. This had to be the eat part of the stay the shower and the bed were amazing

Excellent hotel and got a very good rate which included the 29th floor special service, a must!! Excellent service and you have munchies all day. Went with my 2.5 year old, crib is great and service. Congratulations!

Beautiful rooms, a fabulous view and friendly, helpful staff. The only minor glitch was a disappointing dinner in the 16th floor restaurant, but they handled that by making a reservation at another local restaurant, no charge for the portion of dinner consumed, and a free bottle of wine sent to our room. I am a business professional and travel alot. I am accustomed to staying at four star and five star hotels, and I was very pleasantly surprised with The Epic. A great , spacious, contemporary look and feel without any sacrifice at the service or functionality level. The room was spacious and comfortable. Very welcoming hotel. Friendly, professional staff. Great atmosphere, views, and location. Clean and comfortable. Loved the balcony overlooking the pool. Good business amenities.

Our only disappointment was it was a Pepsi hotel and we like Coca Cola. Hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was nice. The staff were very courteous and they even upgraded us to a junior suite. The disappointment was that the pool area was closed and the riverfront bar was closed. This hotel is amazing! From the time to arrive until the time you leave. I had a car so when I arrived the valet guys did their job to perfection as well as got my luggage to my room with no problems at all. The hotel is more downtown surrounded by large buildings, but that was no issue to me. I had a 1 bedroom room with amazing views of Biscayne Bay […] and even the hotels pool. The room had a computer in it with complimentary internet for guest. This helped out a lot. Other hotels need to follow suit, because many guest really could use that little incentive to help them have a better stay. The room was pretty much the same as the photos on the website. It had a large flat screen TV and a sectional couch in it that was pretty comfortable I must say. The balcony door is in the living room and it is pretty good at reducing noise from outside. When you open the door, the air condition shuts off until the door is closed again. The bedroom had a large king size bed facing the floor to ceiling windows with a nice size flat screen television hanging from the ceiling. The closet was really small compared to many other hotels, so I'm assuming guest don't stay long periods at this hotel. The closet had a basic sized safe in it that was just open to see it. It was not hidden in any way and if someone was looking for it they can easily find it which is not good to me. The bed was really comfortable I must add. The bathroom was pretty large in size but a few things could have been changed to utilize the space a little better. The sinks were nice, but they were to close together if you wanted to put something on the counter like a toothbrush or something like that. They put some storage space underneath the sinks to make up for the lack of space I'm guessing. The tub was extremely deep, which was nice and it had jets to make a relaxing bubble bath. I can not believe it has been a year since I stayed with my family at the great hotel. We stayed at the club level last year and we were treated like royalty by the staff, especially Gene and Bonaldo, so we had to come back again this year. I think it will be a family tradition to stay at this hotel Club Level only that what the kids ask for in fact […] they were disappointed that we stayed at the Ritz the first three night of our short vacation and could not wait to go to the Epic. To top it of we had dinner at Zuma one of the best Japanese food you will ever taste, we thought Nobu where we ate two night before was good well Zuma is 10 times better. This hotel is in downtown Miami with water views. It too about 15-20 minutes to get to South Beach. The staff was extremely responsive. The food service was excellent. Room service was quick and the food always hot. Zuma restaurant lived up to it's international reputation. The chef even sent us a dish to test a new recipe. The club was a blast (great […] happy hour prices and free sushi.) Our room was comfortable and lavish at the same time. The bathroom -- what can I say? Double vanity sinks and separate soaker tub and shower. The shower was glass enclosed and had a rain forrest shower head. The lighting in the bathroom and room was like you would have at home -- recessed with dimmers. The waterview room also had a full balcony with furniture. I stayed in Epic for long weekend at end of June 2010. The staff, from bellmen to valets to front desk staff to room service, were all courteous, professional, responsive and very friendly. The hotel's lobby was austere but modern and funky, very interesting. Our 26th floor waterview room was very comfortable, spacious, with very chic bathroom appointments, […] individual bowl sinks, stone wall tile, large soaking tub and rain shower head. The balcony overlooking the pool and Biscayne Bay was large and private. The water view from our room was not as extensive as I'd hoped due to blockage by nearby large buildings, so most of our vista was in direction of Miami's shipping port cargo cranes, but they were in distance, and there was lots of water between the Epic and the cranes to enjoy. The king size bed was firm and very comfortable, sheets were plush and soft, towels were lush and full, not threadbare or worn like so often in hotels. The Epic's facilities were great. The 16th floor pool deck, with two separate horizon pools, was awesome. The workout center on the same floor had lots of equipment, free weights, numerous treadmills and eliptical machines for a good workout. I did not dine at the hotel restaurant there on the 16th floor, but it was nicely decorated and looked great. I thought when booking my room that the required valet fee was pretty stiff on top of already high-end room rates, but we were in and out of the hotel several times each day, and the valet staff always had our car ready for us within 5 mins of our call down to them. It was certainly easier than fighting for a spot in nearby parking garage and then risking life and limb crossing busy Biscayne Blvd. The location was great, in Miami, not Miami Beach, but less than 10 mins off I-95, and we were over to Key Biscayne or on Ocean Drive in South Beach in less than 15 mins. I have been a fan of Kimpton hotels for years, and although this is not the most unique Kimpton property I have stayed in (that would be the incomparable Triton in San Francisco,) the Epic is the nicest overall Kimpton I have stayed at, and is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at in Miami. The front desk staff (especially Farah) was outstanding and […] extremely helpful, the hotel was beautiful and immaculately maintained, the location is very convenient, and the room was perfection defined, from the generous size to the complimentary in-room computer. I have stayed at many places in Miami, and there are many other excellent hotels there, but I will continue to patronize the Epic when I return. It's an excellent value, and a fabulous experience.
