I like ALOFT Hotels and the Charlotte uptown location is awesome. Very convenient with all the amenities ALOFT is known for. Contemporary decor and clean rooms.

When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We had to wait about 15 minutes before someone came to check us in -- (bathroom?/stock room?) No apology or tone of embarassment just almost indifference. Other than this, we really enjoyed our stay and will stay at Aloft again. Great location, awesome room!

Overall, our stay was very pleasant! The hotel is very close to anything and everything you would want to see in the city. Its also very convenient to the Panther's stadium, which we loved! The parking was a small issue as you have to pay a rather large sum to have someone park your car or you can drive […] around to the public parking deck, which is connected to the hotel and is cheaper; however, elevator use and finding the correct elevators wasn't as easy as it could be. The hotel was great after we found it. Very difficult to locate. Did not like having to take two elevators in and out of hotel. Lobby is on 5th floor. Having read the reviews here (and on other sites) about the loudness of the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to have a completely different experience. Keep in mind that I stayed on Sunday & Monday nights, when "Howl at the Moon" - a dance club/bar within crawling distance of the hotel, is closed. Maybe this is why? I chose to stay at Aloft because […] it was the least expensive hotel in Uptown Charlotte with free wifi. There is also complimentary soap, lotion, shampoo, and body wash; bottled water and coffee; and a mini-fridge. The staff is very attentive, and all had welcoming, generous attitudes. One of my favorite pluses is the super convenient business center near the lobby, where I was able to use the printer for free. Among its drawbacks are: -$50 incidentals charged to card, which should be refunded soon, but wasn't warned about this prior to stay. -The music in the elevators is a bit loud and techno-y. Softer ambient would jibe better with this brand, and have wider appeal. -The food at ReFuel, its "grab and go gourmet" is thunderously expensive. A cup of cereal, milk carton, and a cinnamon roll shouldn't come to $9. -The bedding is a bit awkward. Comforter is lumpy (you'll see what I mean) and the pillows are just not comfortable at all. The hotel room was very comfortable. There were a few small problems: The batteries in the TV remote were dead. The thermostat didn't really do much. Any hotel room with such a low-powered toilet should have a plunger tucked in the back of a cabinet.

This Aloft place was just an overnight en route for us but it turned out great. I had a day to get through in Charlotte with a little kid. The desk guys suggested Imaginon and Discovery Place and gave clear walking directions. Both were close and fantastic. The staff were also just really friendly and helpful in general.

Had previously looked at the Aloft for personal travel but was able to fit this in for business. Facility in Charlotte was unique due to location and so the design was unusual. Everything worked well and front desk staff was exceptional. Only complaint was the mattress and it was definitely in need of replacement. We chose the hotel because it's location but the staff was very rude, my husband asked the receptionist where the restrooms where and the guy responded that he was interrupting him and had to wait, at check out the receptionist, this time a girl, was not at all helpfull when asked to explain the bill for us. Aloft was a kind of cool concept in a hotel. It was pretty hip feeling, and not a traditional hotel. It probably isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed my stay. It is located right in the EpiCenter, but we did not have any issues with noise as other people have.

My 2 daughters & I traveld from Raleigh to a concert at the Time Warner Cable Arena. Location of the hotel was key...across from the arena and very close to restaurants. The hotel had wonderful modern touches which liked. As my daughters stated "this hotel is cool". We had a wonderful night stay. Would definitely stay there again.
