Hi Surf Beachfront Resort Apartments - Surfers Paradise

We were on the 9th floor with an incredible room with views overlooking the surf. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment that was a very competitive price. About a 12 block walk along the boardwalk to the downtown area of Surfers Paradise. Walked across the street to play in the surf.The whole experience was great.

From the start I was extremely disappointed in the quality of customer care as well as the entire atmosphere of the hotel. As soon as we checked in there was construction (drilling, hammering, sawing) in the room literally next to us. (Not to mention one elevator that worked for 26 floors). When I confronted the front desk about this I was reassured […] it would be the last day only to be awoken at 8am with the same exact scenario. The room was also disgustingly dusty as if it had been abandoned for years untouched. Literally the television stand was gray and the room festering in dust triggered an allergy attack which caused a relative to have a tight throat as well as swollen eyes. (Under customer photos I will attach a picture to display how unclean this hotel was). The manager at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful towards our uncomfortable stay. She was unwilling to accommodate us in any manner and would not refund us anything so that we could not switch hotels for our other two nights due to the dust and construction noise (which did not cease throughout our entire stay). On top of us wasting hundreds of dollars for three restless nights we had to clean up everything including throwing the linens in the laundry room as well as washing the dishes. This stay was more of a chore than a luxury and I wouldnot recommend anyone to waste a dime on this establishment. Terrible customer service, horrible atmosphere, and poor air quality those are the only thoughts I associate with this unpleasant stay. Read more

Although dated with fittings, we enjoyed the spacious commodity and views. We requested a room with ocean views and got a side view instead. They told us all rooms were ocean views - what they forgot is that some views were full and some were side, They have 28 floors and we would have liked more than level 7. Well situated hotel. A 10 minute walk from centre of town and across the road from the beach. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were well equipped. I enjoyed staying at the Hi surf hotel with my family. The hotel location was excellent, close to all the city venues and with magnificent beach views. Unfortunately the washing machine was broken, there was no air conditioning and the ironing board was also broken.

We felt the location was great to major sight seeing, major shopping areas, and also handy to the Brisbane Airport if required. The apartment is aging but most importantly for a two bedroom it was spacious clean and tidy, exactly what was required as a place to relax after trips out. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. It was superbly located away from hustle and bustle of Cavill Ave. nice,clean, beachfront appart hotel. Only a pleasant 10 minutes walk along the beach to Cavill Ave and it's entertainment and 5 minutes walk to the bus station that takes you to all the theme parks. This was an excellent choice for our family of five. I booked it after reading other good reviews. It is on the esplanade opposite the beach and is about 10 minutes walk from central surfers though their is a mini supermarket within one block. We were on the 21st floor and had excellent views to the beach and to the north. Very spacious with ample space […] for our young family. Huge wraparound balcony. Well managed block. Looking at the other buildings nearby and their positions and views, I would say this was one of the best on the esplanade. The floors are very solid so had no noise from other apartments. the kitchen - the utensils were not cleaned. there was no soap to clean them either. it would have been great if that were provided. the milk carton in the fridge was already opened when i checked in. Toilet hygiene was average too. overall experience was great however check out could have been 12pm rather than 10.

Definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. We booked this hotel because of recent reviews by other travellers, the photos of the updated rooms, and the fact that they were all supposed to have great views. We were given a two bedroom on the third floor that looked like a hotel room from the 1970s. It looked so old that we didn't even want to put our bags in and […] it had a terrible view. What a disappointment. We were going to actually leave and just start trying other hotels, but the front desk said that they only had one more room on the 22nd floor that we could look at. We ended up taking that room only because it had a wonderful view but the room itself was only slightly better than the original one. The size of the rooms and views are awesome, best value for money and in a convenient location. Didn't realise that the supercars were going to be on and the road closures around the entire area but couldn't fault the location at all. Although older style accommodation, we stayed on the 11th floor which had a magnificent, uninterrupted view of the surf. Kitchen was fully equipped and some internal fittings need replacing. Pools, gym and amenities were very good. Quite a long walk to Surfers Shopping Centre but overall a most enjoyable stay.

It is very close to the beach but isn't to the main streets. It is wakable but not for me in hot sunny days. They ask for $250 when you check in for a holding deposit which is more than other hotels. The hotel seems like a family business. The old lady at the reception wasn't being helpful at all. one night i had a really big pain in my stomach so I […] asked her for panadol (it was late around 11pm) and said no...I was in a lot of pain and wouldn't have asked her if it wasn't serious. The hotel I stayed in was 8 floor and it was the oldest hotel i've ever seen ! i think it was built in 60s or 70s. Definately needs a renovation. the best thing in there was the tv. They had really old sheepskin carpet, old hairdryer, old furnitures, the wall paper was ripped off, even smells old. but I admit that the view was fantastic ! I wasn't the only one complaining about the old hotel. I heard other people complaining at the reception too. Overall, the service needs to be improved a lot and after renovation the hotel would be really popular regarding spacious rooms and the view. Read more

We had 2 adults and 3 kids in a 2 bedroom apartment. Our apartment was very light and spacious. It does depend on the actual apartment you are allocated though as our friends apartment (several floors above us) dated back to the early 70s! Our 2 bedrooms were very spacious, even with the extra bed in the kids bedroom. The main bedroom had an ensuite […] shower/toilet. Kitchen was fine (with dishwasher) and there was washing machine and dry cleaning in the laundry room (inside our apartment). Location is great. 5 minute walk into the main restaurant area and plenty of bottle shops around. Great little BBQ area outside. The only downside was that one of the elevators was out of action for our entire week stay, so there was always a wait. Also, the Esplanade traffic was very noisy all through the night.
