"Charming B&B, ideal location for Volcano Nat'l Par"
This B&B and the hosts are as comfortable, warm and pleasant as any place I've ever stayed. Ray and Lani (hosts) felt like family to me. They were happy to give us information about the area. Their home is snug, cozy and convenient to Volcano Nat'l Park. Hilo is a relaxed, scenic 45 minutes away. They offer a light, continental breakfast, which is well-presented. […] My only concern is that I like a little protein with breakfast. I would suggest they provide milk or yogurt in addition. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This B&B is located very close to Volcano park. You literally drive to the end of the road and wait at the gate. The accommodations are quaint and clean. There's wifi and breakfast included. There's probably 3 restaurants nearby and they're all overpriced. If you're going to be finished with the Volcano park by 7pm I recommend driving over to Kona and […] staying there. "Real Handy to view the Volcano on The Big Island"
Our hosts were really nice people. The breakfast was okay, but not great. You check off the night before from a sheet what you want, ex bagel, waffles, juice, coffee, etc. I felt limited on the breakfast. I got a little bit more than a half cup of coffee and had to ask for more. Our host brought me 1 small pat of butter for my bagel and I had to ask […] for more butter too. The room was okay but only had light curtains tied back, no shades in the bedroom and nothing on the window in the bathroom. The place is at the very end of a very narrow, long, dirt road which is difficult at night when dark and you have to call them when you arrive so they can open the door to the property by remote. However the place was clean, great for going to Volcano Park and reasonable priced. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay near Volcanoes National Park!"
This place was really easy to find. It literally is at the end of the road. The drive on the road to the home is beautiful and it isn't really that far off the main road. The home itself is decorated lovely. We loved the room we stayed in and we thought the hosts were very nice. We enjoyed our conversation with them over our filling breakfast. I have […] nothing negative to say about our stay here. If you want somewhere to stay super close to Volcanoes National Park for a great price, this is it. Would absolutely, undoubtedly recommend this place for anyone to stay. Thanks again for the lovely stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing place, over our expect!!"
This is a really nice B&B. We only paid less than $100 for a night stay. But we thought it worth more than $150. The whole space of B&B were very comfortable, and even luxury! Room, living room, dining room were all wonderful. Please be aware to arrive before 6 PM. If will be easier to get there at day time because the town will be totally dark after […] sunset, and it's the rule of this B&B also. "Good location at affordable rates!"
This place is very close to volcano park. The owner is very nice and good to talk to. The house and room is very clean. The house has some kind of moisture smell to it, I think it is because of the location, up in the mountain. The only thing I could not find is a hair dryer, other than that, everything is great! My wife and I had a great stay for only one night. Room was very clean, is a very homey atmosphere. Breakfast is carbs only, but a good start for the day. Location is very close to Hawai'i National Volcano Park, only about 3 miles from the B&B. If you arrive late, make sure you eat in Hilo or elsewhere, in Volcano everything coses at 8:30 pm.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Volcanoes National Park"
Right next to the Volcanoes National Park, the B&B was conveniently located (for us). The hosts are a nice, warm couple and the house is a quaint little place for an overnight stay. There are only 4 places to eat nearby though (which was OK with us). Our GPS didn't quite recognize the house number but the place is literally at the end of the street […] mentioned in the address. "Bed and Breakfast near active volcano in Hawaii"
At the End of the Road is a Bed and Breakfast less than 1/2 an hour from the Jaggar Museum in Volcanoes National Park. Since the Jaggar is the best place to go view Kileaua's lava lake or its reflection every night, it's really great to have a place to stay closeby. At End of the Road, you'll find your own bed and bath in a beautifully situated country […] home. In addition, guests have the run of the living room with TV and internet access. Breakfast features Hawaiian produce in kindly and interesting conversations about the area with the owners. They are also informed and responsive to questions about other area attractions and hikes/tours/flights to the area where lava is flowing into the ocean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty good, a bit cold at night, good location"
Very homey -- quite literally their home with three rooms for guests. It was a bit cold at night and the window drapes let light in through quite easily so I didn't sleep all that great. However, the hosts are incredibly nice and flexible and the location is great right near volcano. Definitely check out the Kalapana volcano tour which the host can […] give you info on, go at about 3:30 pm and it's $100 per person. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We had Killi's room. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Innkeeper Ray was very helpful with advice regarding the Volcano Park which was VERY close by. The room rate was very reasonable and better than any of the other local B and B's. We will be backGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay at Volcano"
Lani and Ray are very nice and give us great tips of the park, Hilo and even Kona. Conversation with them and other guests is very pleasant. They always asked whether we have enough bread, coffee, etc. We would stay here again if we con back to Volcano.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet, low key B&B"
This is a quiet B&B. Rooms are in the owner's home but separate from their living area. The owners are very helpful and have a lot of local knowledge. The house is clean and comfortable. "Awesome place to stay"
I usually don't do reviews, but I think this bed and breakfast is so good that I have to say something about it. I and my friend were visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The location of this place is literally at the end of a road and very close to the Park. If you were planning to get the most out of the park, this is the place to stay. The owner […] is incredibly nice and friendly. We felt like visiting an old friend. The tips and suggestions from the owner were super useful, such as where to eat, what to do, best time to do so, etc. We were taken very good care of during our stay. Highly recommended! "Perfect location. Warm and hospitable couple."
Lonnie and Roy took very good care of us from the moment we arrived until our departure. They gave us tips on visiting Volcano National Park, and were kind enough to make a couple phone calls regarding a tour in which we expressed an interest. They welcomed our 12 year old son. If you are visiting the park, I would highly recommend booking the (limited) […] accommodations well in advance of your stay. Spending the night in Volcano is a bonus as it allows ample time to view the volcano's night time "glow", then drive leisurely back to the B & B. The roads are dark and I would not recommend driving all the way back to Kona which many people opt to do. We arrived "At the End of the Road" during the day and could read the street signs. We had a continental breakfast with fresh ground coffee at 7:30am, and had the rest of the day to hike in the park. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great value and great location"
This B&B is a very good value. The location is perfect - very close to Volcanoes Nat'l Park. It is run by a couple who is very friendly and happy to provide advice on sightseeing. This is a house and there are two rooms they rent out, which are on the opposite side of the house so it feels private. I enjoyed our stay there very much.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful B&B near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park"
This B&B was just as the other reviewers described. The home was very nicely decorated, clean, and inviting. We stayed in Kili's Room, which was perfect for the three of us. Our son enjoyed watching their horse and goats roaming around the back of their property in the morning. The animals didn't make a peep and we found the place to be very, very quiet. […] We also had our own bathroom which was a plus. It is very close to Volcanoes National Park and is easy to find, as it is truly "At the End of the Road" on Haunani Road. Just keep driving past the Dead End sign until you run out of road. You will see their gate and recognize the B&B immediately from the picture. This was our first experience with a B&B and we really enjoyed our stay. Ask for the local papaya if it's available, it was delicious. Thank you Lani and Ray, you guys were great! "Wonderful little place"
At the End of the Road B&B was a real treat on our visit to Big Island, it really felt like visiting old friends. The location is perfect for visiting the Volcano Park, although it can be a bit tricky to find without a GPS (the hosts will send you detailed instructions, though). It's essentially a family home where one part has been separated for guests. […] It feels very cozy, while providing sufficient privacy at the same time. One potential downside is that there is one shared bathroom for the two guest rooms. There was no one else staying the night we were there, but might be a nuisance if both guest rooms are occupied. "Very nice owners, great B&B"
This is my very first B&B experience, and Rei and Lani have set the bar high! The house indeed is located At the End of the Road, however pretty easy to find, you just drive all the way down and you will find it. It is very quiet since the house is the last one on the road, and it is sitting on a land with good size. Rei and Lani are very hospital, […] if you are a first time visitor of the volcano, they definately can give you some good info. You can find pretty much everything you need, including flash light (to go to the volcano park at night) and wireless internet (connection is pretty stable during our stay) Overall, very positive experience, we wish we could stay longer. "Smells like dog"
I booked this B&B for two nights since I was visiting Volcanoes National Park. The location was excellent and the price was right. However, when I first arrived, I couldn't get in because there is an electronic gate, and the owner must see you to let you in. I went back a few hours later and waited 5 minutes before she saw me. When I entered the home, […] I was immediately hit with the smell of dog. Not just a little smell, but it STANK. I have no problems with animals in the house, and I understand they can leave some odor, but this was ridiculous! I wasn't allowed to roll my 50+ pound suitcase over her laminate flooring (which she called "hardwood"). My room didn't smell (I guess the dogs aren't allowed in there) but she has a private office across from my room, so the hallway reeked, too. There's a note in the bathroom indicating that women aren't allowed to use the towels/washcloth to take make up off but must use kleenex, which wasn't even in the bathroom. The towels were hunter green, so I'm not sure why taking my makeup off was going to soil them so badly. The breakfast was lackluster and sparse. The options were a bagel, English muffin or toast. The condiments were parsed out in very small quantities (the jelly just colored my bagel, and I wasn't offered any extra) And a small dish of papaya was offered. All in all, it's the same breakfast I expect from Days Inn, and that's not saying much. The sitting area had a huge TV with almost any channel you could want, but again, the smell of dog was so overpowering! I ended up using my travel can of lysol to mask the smell. Overall, the entire place needed a good dusting and some sweeping (there were dust bunnies and cobwebs in the corners). I would not stay here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to others. "They went above and beyond"
Our stay was pleasant. We arrived 5 PM with a picnic dinner. They were gone on an errand but left keys. We ate our picnic dinner in our car in their beautiful yard. It would be nice if they had some chairs and maybe a small table outside to enjoy the nice natural setting. The owners arrived at 6 Pm and greeted us. They announced breakfast would be at […] 7:30 AM. Our plans required us to leave by 6:30 AM. They were very gracious in offering to give us a bag with breakfast rolls, juice and more to take with us. "Very charming B&B, great to stay at"
We so enjoyed staying at at the end of the road B&B -- the owners were a couple, and the half of the house were allocated for guests stay. The rooms were clean, a nice bed with bath, everything you would need for B&B . The owners are wonderful people, we were able to talk and guess how it is like to be living in Hawaii Island -- it adds a lot to our […] travel experience! The breakfast is small and good coffee, which was perfect for us -- if you expect a huge breakfast buffet, you probably should choose other types of accommodation. Also, the location is lovely -- it is very close to the Volcano village (1 minute drive) and the national park (5 minutes drive) but also pretty close to the town of Hilo and beautiful beaches. I would totally stay again when I am visiting the Big Island again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet and very comfortable!"
The B&B was easy to find and the owners, Ray and Lani, had left instructions for accessing the room as we arrived before they got back from Hilo. The room itself was elegantly furnished, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a single bed on the side. The owners are very outgoing and hospitable and we also had access to a living […] room with comfortable chairs and lights reading. Breakfast was modest: coffee or tea, oj or a cup of papaya, and a slice of banana bread. Ray and Lani are very outgoing and helpful in making suggestions about what to see. The price for our one night was most reasonable. We would recommend this room to mature couples. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pass this location. Stay at Hilo instead."
It is just an OK accommodation. The description does not say it is indeed at the end of a VERY LONG narrow road which at some sections make you think you are going into the wilderness. I would recommend folks visiting Volcano NP to stay at Hilo instead. You drive another 20 to 30 minutes but to a much better environment than this funky surrounding. The […] hosts are not very friendly either. The breakfast is really skimpy. You have a choice of a bagel, or 2 toasts, or 2 pieces of homemade banana bread, a juice or a papaya cup (papaya can be bought at 5 for a $1 at Hilo farmer's market and the fruit cup consisted less than 1/4 of a papaya!) and you have to ask for refill for your coffee or tea. "Nice, but for a short stay"
Hosts are very helpful and friendly and breakfast was nicely prepared but stay was marred by the fact that there are no facilities for guests to make their own cup of coffee or have access to any kitchen facilities. I stayed here only one night and was expecting your standard, shared-house b&b experience but it was nice to find out upon arriving that that the room I was given was more motel style than b&b. It offered more privacy than expected, which for me is definitely a plus. I was greeted by a very friendly innkeeper and his two dalmations.
