"Great place to stay owned by an amazing couple!"
My wife and I were doing a tour around the island and stopped here after spending the day at Volcanos National Park. The couple was very gracious and also had great pointers about taking in the sights and local restaurants. The breakfast was great and they let us pick from several different items what to eat. Could not recommend this place more highly.

"Nice room close to Volcano N. P."
The room was nice and clean. The hosts were very gracious and helpful with tips for restaurants, activities, etc. The end of the road is a very quiet place, you hear the birds singing, but it rains every day. Breakfast was adequate with 1/2 of a papaya, coffee, tea, juice, and toast, waffles, bagels, or banana bread according to your order.

"Great B & B"
We truly enjoyed staying at "At the End of the Road Bed & Breakfast." Ray and Lani were great hosts, sharing much background about the Big Island at each breakfast and providing excellent recommendations in advance of our stay for visits on our way from Waikoloa to Volcano and from Volcano to Kona Airport. The accommodations were fresh and clean and served us well for restoring ourselves for more exploration of the national park each day.

"Friendly Hosts and Charming Accommodations"
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the End of the Road Bed and Breakfast very much after a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Ray and Lani were excellent hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with them very much at breakfast. We found them to be fine native Hawaiian people and we shared some of our travel experiences. They were also helpful in mentioning things we might like to see as we went on to Hilo and then returned to Kona after our one-night stay at Volcano Village. There was a young couple from France there and we also enjoyed conversation with them. We stayed in the room with en-suite bathroom and found it to be charming and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but tasty and adequate for our needs that morning. We would not hesitate to stay there again if the opportunity arises.

"More Hotel Descriptions!"
Fact that not includes on Hotel.com descriptions - Kaui's room has a comfortable queen bed and has a private bathroom but the bathroom is out side of the room - TV is in the living room. - No smoking :) also no alcohol allow :( We had a bottle of wine with us but couldn't enjoy! - Check in time 3pm-6pm! After hours check in is possible but do not expect any greeting or any instruction in person. We arrived at 8pm and follow the written check in instructions to find our way around the house even though we see that the owner were at the premises. A "Hello" and a just few words will make us more welcome. - The Volcano Village area is very dark at night. The owner was very friendly in the morning, We have a nice chat during breakfast. He allow me to use a kitchen to prepare our bought in fruit for our snacks for our road trip. Conclusion: We had a good night sleep at this Bad and Breakfast. If we were have arrived a bit early or if know a house rules before hand, We may have enjoy our stay more. By the way, This is our first B&B experience. This maybe to expect from any B&B services! "Visiting the volcanos"
Very nice, clean, well decorated property. The owners are very friendly and gave us good information about the area and things to do and places to eat. We had our own bathroom and the fresh drinking water put in there each day was a much appreciated plus. There are only two rooms for guests but that makes the breakfast in the morning very informal and easy to have conversation. The breakfast was European continental with fruit, pastries, and juice which was fine with us and very good. The only thing they might want to do is upgrade the bed in the room without a bathroom as it was a little to firm. However, because it was so quiet and the breeze through the windows so fresh it was still easy to fall a sleep and get a good night's sleep. One of the nices B&B's at which I have stayed. We look forward to going back.

This is a very convenient Bed & Breakfast close to the Volcanoes National Park. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The owner of the Bed&Breakfast is very nice and has a lot of good tips and recommendations about nearby restaurants, the National Park and about Big Island in general. Breakfast is included and freshly made by the owner. The room we stayed in had the bathroom down the hall, but it was not shared as the other room has an ensuite.

"Charming B&B, ideal location for Volcano Nat'l Par"
This B&B and the hosts are as comfortable, warm and pleasant as any place I've ever stayed. Ray and Lani (hosts) felt like family to me. They were happy to give us information about the area. Their home is snug, cozy and convenient to Volcano Nat'l Park. Hilo is a relaxed, scenic 45 minutes away. They offer a light, continental breakfast, which is well-presented. My only concern is that I like a little protein with breakfast. I would suggest they provide milk or yogurt in addition.

"adequate stay"
This B&B is located very close to Volcano park. You literally drive to the end of the road and wait at the gate. The accommodations are quaint and clean. There's wifi and breakfast included. There's probably 3 restaurants nearby and they're all overpriced. If you're going to be finished with the Volcano park by 7pm I recommend driving over to Kona and staying there.

"Real Handy to view the Volcano on The Big Island"
Our hosts were really nice people. The breakfast was okay, but not great. You check off the night before from a sheet what you want, ex bagel, waffles, juice, coffee, etc. I felt limited on the breakfast. I got a little bit more than a half cup of coffee and had to ask for more. Our host brought me 1 small pat of butter for my bagel and I had to ask for more butter too. The room was okay but only had light curtains tied back, no shades in the bedroom and nothing on the window in the bathroom. The place is at the very end of a very narrow, long, dirt road which is difficult at night when dark and you have to call them when you arrive so they can open the door to the property by remote. However the place was clean, great for going to Volcano Park and reasonable priced.

This place was really easy to find. It literally is at the end of the road. The drive on the road to the home is beautiful and it isn't really that far off the main road. The home itself is decorated lovely. We loved the room we stayed in and we thought the hosts were very nice. We enjoyed our conversation with them over our filling breakfast. I have nothing negative to say about our stay here. If you want somewhere to stay super close to Volcanoes National Park for a great price, this is it. Would absolutely, undoubtedly recommend this place for anyone to stay. Thanks again for the lovely stay!

This is a really nice B&B. We only paid less than $100 for a night stay. But we thought it worth more than $150. The whole space of B&B were very comfortable, and even luxury! Room, living room, dining room were all wonderful. Please be aware to arrive before 6 PM. If will be easier to get there at day time because the town will be totally dark after sunset, and it's the rule of this B&B also. If you want to have a late check-in, make sure to tell them at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

This place is very close to volcano park. The owner is very nice and good to talk to. The house and room is very clean. The house has some kind of moisture smell to it, I think it is because of the location, up in the mountain. The only thing I could not find is a hair dryer, other than that, everything is great! Right next to the Volcanoes National Park, the B&B was conveniently located (for us). The hosts are a nice, warm couple and the house is a quaint little place for an overnight stay. There are only 4 places to eat nearby though (which was OK with us). Our GPS didn't quite recognize the house number but the place is literally at the end of the street mentioned in the address.

"Bed and Breakfast near active volcano in Hawaii"
At the End of the Road is a Bed and Breakfast less than 1/2 an hour from the Jaggar Museum in Volcanoes National Park. Since the Jaggar is the best place to go view Kileaua's lava lake or its reflection every night, it's really great to have a place to stay closeby. At End of the Road, you'll find your own bed and bath in a beautifully situated country home. In addition, guests have the run of the living room with TV and internet access. Breakfast features Hawaiian produce in kindly and interesting conversations about the area with the owners. They are also informed and responsive to questions about other area attractions and hikes/tours/flights to the area where lava is flowing into the ocean.

"Pretty good, a bit cold at night, good location"
Very homey -- quite literally their home with three rooms for guests. It was a bit cold at night and the window drapes let light in through quite easily so I didn't sleep all that great. However, the hosts are incredibly nice and flexible and the location is great right near volcano. Definitely check out the Kalapana volcano tour which the host can give you info on, go at about 3:30 pm and it's $100 per person.

I usually don't do reviews, but I think this bed and breakfast is so good that I have to say something about it. I and my friend were visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. "Perfect location. Warm and hospitable couple."
Lonnie and Roy took very good care of us from the moment we arrived until our departure. They gave us tips on visiting Volcano National Park, and were kind enough to make a couple phone calls regarding a tour in which we expressed an interest. They welcomed our 12 year old son. If you are visiting the park, I would highly recommend booking the (limited) accommodations well in advance of your stay. Spending the night in Volcano is a bonus as it allows ample time to view the volcano's night time "glow", then drive leisurely back to the B & B. The roads are dark and I would not recommend driving all the way back to Kona which many people opt to do. We arrived "At the End of the Road" during the day and could read the street signs. We had a continental breakfast with fresh ground coffee at 7:30am, and had the rest of the day to hike in the park.

"The Most Charming B&B Near Hilo"
At the End of the Road Bed and Breakfast is truly a gem in the Big Island. The owners are very warm, friendly people with so many great stories to tell. We stayed for three days and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast conversations over a selection of coffee, tea or juice, and a variety of breads as well as fresh papaya. We loved how we were able to keep our windows open at night as the breeze was nice and cool. No air conditioning needed! Our bathroom was very clean, as was our room. The general living area was also very tidy and charmingly decorated. Ask the owners about how they built their life in the Big Island... they are such a sweet and pleasant couple, and they truly embody the personal touch and hospitality that many people seek at a B&B. We will always remember our stay here.

"Expert Advice"
This B&B was a very comfortable place to stay, we were not expecting actual service during breakfast which was a nice touch. The location was close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and it was easy to locate as it was literally at the end of the road. What made the stay extra memorable was the loads of advice that was provided. When we were interested in the lava walking tour outside the park, the host assisted in securing the tour for us too. Based on the recommendations, we were able to get up close and personal to both surface lava as well as ocean entry lava that day. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
