"Chipeta Solar Springs Rating"
For $270 per night one would expect a comforter instead of just a sheet and one cheap pillow. Most uncomfortable nights I ever spent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"uncomfortable and disappointing"
Our room was fairly expensive and the size of a shoe box. That would have been fine if it wasn't 90 degrees with no thermostat and a small window to open to the stairwell which was frequently and loudly used throughout the night.... needless to say it was one of those disappointing nights that I couldn't wait to be over. I wont stay here again... if […] I didn't have any options I would very carefully choose the room, calling the hotel directly and making sure of the quality and location Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Interesting place, rustic but attractive. Room hot and swamp cooler inop. TV barely works. But in a beautiful place, and bed was comfy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very unsatisfied. i booked two rooms, both lodge deluxe and if that is what they call deluxe, they need to modify their classifications. we had 2 adults and a child in one room, lodge deluxe showed 2 beds, but instead we got a king & a sleeper. there were food crumbs in the cushions, so it made me wonder how well the room had been cleaned. we were only […] given towels for 2. we had to ask for me. too me, if you book three people, why do you need to ask for a 3rd set of towels. the bathroom was so small, that i was shocked you could fit one adult and a child in it at the same time. needless to say, our child slept in bed with us. The second room was not much better, small bathroom, small room and the tv was probably the worst disappointment. i didn't think they still made 19" tv's. would not stay there again. ""Lovely place to stay in the Fall""
The room was quiet and comfortable. Shower water pressure was great as well as the large jacuzzi. Breakfast at the on-site restaurant was also very good.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Chipeta Spa, nice for the price"
Our room wasn't ready, but it was before 3. We had to come back later. We were charged an additional $174 after I had already paid online through Hotels.com. It was refunded after they noticed the error, however. The rooms are nice, the view is great, nice jacuzzi, heated pools, quiet, nice atmosphere. Overall it was a good stay for the price. I would […] stay again if ever in that area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you're exploring the San Juans, this is a nice stop on your way to Telluride, Ouray or Silverton, the range's three best towns. The spa and pools are nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great, charming hotel at a good price"
This charming, Southwestern-style hotel was staffed with extremely pleasant people, and the entire hotel was beautiful. The room was very spacious and we had access to a pool and two hot tubs. Dinner at the hotel's cafe was tasty and romantic. I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back. The only negative was that there was no air conditioning, […] but that seems to be typical of many hotels in the area, and the afternoon breezes kept it from getting too warm. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable. The carpeting was a little worn, the wood window sills and door frame needed maintenance. Nice layout with sitting areas--indoors and out. The only complaint we had was the pool was not open. We'd chosen the hotel based on the outdoor pool. They did give us passes to the hot springs down the road.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but pricey for country town"
Stayed 2 nights in 1 bedroom which comfortably accommodates 2 adults and 2 teens. Well maintained, very clean contrary to previous reviews. Only concern is the shower that was barely a trickle and for the cost I would really like a better shower experience. The TV lost it's signal and was not addressed by the manager although teenage sons were able […] to resolve. In summary OK for country town but a bit pricey for the amenity. "Wonderful little resort tucked away in Ridgway"
07/08/14 Meg D Boulder, Colorado
Two friends and I recently had the very enjoyable experience of traveling to Ridgway to stay at the Chipeta Sun Lodge. It was so beautiful, one of my friends actually said she "felt like a Kardashian" ;) The amenities, including the pool, spa, our own hot tub, gorgeous views, and the 20 person solar pool were amazing. We even got free homemade chocolate chip cookies everyday! The customer service was outstanding. There's so much to do right around the resort: a short, gorgeous drive to Telluride and a brief walk into the quaint little town of Ridgway. We'll definitely be back!
"Small Town Cool"

The whole place (rooms, spa, restaurant, etc.) has a Southwestern ambiance with a distinct style all of its own. The plants and plantings in the solarium and elsewhere are worthy of a trip by themselves. Each room is distinctly and individually decorated. The food in the restaurant (Four Corners Cafe) was very good. We had Pork Tenderloin Roulade which was very good. The restaurant's homemade granola with fruit and yogurt for breakfast was outstanding. A most restful and relaxing place. A great small resort. The towels in the room could be of a higher quality. The bed was too soft for our liking - not a criticism, but an observation. Overall the room was excellent.
"A wonderful getaway!"

This resort and restaurant is tucked away off the main street of Ridgeway, CO. The food was superb breakfast: chicken enchiladas; steak and eggs; biscuits and gravy; and quiche. Quite a variety and all excellent. The roof top bar/lounge has tapas on selected nights with wonderful views of the mountains and the decor of the resort is SouthWest with a lot of landscaping to make it more of a hideaway. Definitely a place to go for cocktail hour or tapas nights or a few days stay to relax and enjoy the ambiance.
"Worth a drive"

Went up to Chipeta Solar for Sunday brunch, and it was a delight. Wonderful food prepared by Chef Kathi Rohrs Bledsoe. The views are spectacular, the service attentive but not overwhelming. It was a very special day, one I hope to repeat often.
"Heavenly Hidden Gem"

Most people drive through Ridgway with no idea that this incredible little Spa Resort is just a couple blocks off the main highway, situated across from a great city park & snowcapped mountain vistas. The Dominguez Suite is their only deluxe ground floor room accepting pets, and it was absolutely perfect. (Other pet friendly rooms on upper floors). Super luxurious king bed, wet bar, grassy area for dog out our back door and PRIVATE Hot Tub courtyard out our front door. The large swimming pool & GIANT hot pool with breathtaking views are wonderful, as are all the serenely beautiful public areas. Two nights are not enough to enjoy all the delights. We will be back in the summer when their restaurant and Sky Bar are open. Price is a bit high, but they often offer specials, if one signs up to receive their emails.
"Very Nice Experience"
04/06/14 Elizabeth D Durango, Colorado
The staff at chipeta was fantastic. The ladies working at the front deck were very nice, and the staff in the spa were polite and professional. We had a private hot tub with an excellent view. The room was rustic, and the fireplace for heating was a nice touch. The day we left it had snowed several inches the night before, and the walkway was promptly shoveled, and the gentelman who was doing it even cleaned the snow off of the car for us. The saltwater hot tub was sooo nice. We had a couples massage at the spa, and it was fantastic. The sunroom was a beautiful touch, and we will definitely stay here again. Only a couple of little things could have made our experience better. The room was clean, but the bed was absolutely rock hard, and the pillows were hard and flat. The sheets felt cheap, as did the run of the mill hotel towels. Also, our flashlight didn't work, and there was no lighting on the rooftop or stairs, so accessing our room's hot-tub after dark was inconvenient. We paid for a bottle of red wine, but when we un-corked it, it was bad. The lady at the front desk refunded us. Those things didn't ruine our experience, we had a wonderful time, but it's food for thought. Thanks for the weekend!
"Nice couples weekend"

Though we enjoy natural hot springs best, we found the salt/mineral hot pool lovely and relaxing. The views are beautiful. We got a good internet Valentine deal so we thought we would give it a try. We had a nice couples massage and the steam bath was wonderful! It was a slow day (Tuesday) and they upgraded us to a corner room. The bed was comfortable, there is a fridge and a private hot tub. We never even used the hot tub because the pool was so nice. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We enjoyed a full complimentary breakfast in the sun room and they had complimentary cookies and beverages each day.
"Loved it with just a few issues"
We stayed in Chaco Canyon, it was very cute but on the crowded small size. The bed was hard as a rock, the pillows might have been from the 1970's (very flat) and there was only one chair in the room. The fireplace was wonderful and the Jacuzzi tub was a great bonus. The thermal hot tub was the best ever and the actual grounds were very nice. The staff was very nice and helpful, we asked for additional pillows and received more of the same but then they smelled like smoke. Not the best time not to bring out own pilliws! Had a blast snowshoeing in Telluride, not too far awsy.

We stayed here while house hunting and the experience was superb! I could swim in the massive bathtub and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub views from our deck. Very peaceful and relaxing! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax.
"Perfect winter getaway"
12/30/13 Kaitlin H Grand Rapids, Michigan
Nice Aztec meets rustic lodge feel. With our private hot tub overlooking a beautiful mountain view and the wonderful morning breakfast alongside a roaring fireplace, we found Chipeta to be the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the mountains. Staff was very friendly and truly gives this a spa/resort type feel. Would love to stay here again!
