It was ok. Our room had a roof leak, but not too bad ( among some minor maintenance problems). I loved the living area/kitchen; the bedroom was very plain, though, for the amount of money we paid for it. Finally, you will be required to pay an extra fee/tax when you arrive. The clerk printed out the pricing for the room for us and we saw how much $$$ […] hotels.com is making off of our booking (more than $50 a night). We over paid!!! For $270 per night one would expect a comforter instead of just a sheet and one cheap pillow. Most uncomfortable nights I ever spent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"uncomfortable and disappointing"
Our room was fairly expensive and the size of a shoe box. That would have been fine if it wasn't 90 degrees with no thermostat and a small window to open to the stairwell which was frequently and loudly used throughout the night.... needless to say it was one of those disappointing nights that I couldn't wait to be over. I wont stay here again... if […] I didn't have any options I would very carefully choose the room, calling the hotel directly and making sure of the quality and location Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Interesting place, rustic but attractive. Room hot and swamp cooler inop. TV barely works. But in a beautiful place, and bed was comfy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very unsatisfied. i booked two rooms, both lodge deluxe and if that is what they call deluxe, they need to modify their classifications. we had 2 adults and a child in one room, lodge deluxe showed 2 beds, but instead we got a king & a sleeper. there were food crumbs in the cushions, so it made me wonder how well the room had been cleaned. we were only […] given towels for 2. we had to ask for me. too me, if you book three people, why do you need to ask for a 3rd set of towels. the bathroom was so small, that i was shocked you could fit one adult and a child in it at the same time. needless to say, our child slept in bed with us. The second room was not much better, small bathroom, small room and the tv was probably the worst disappointment. i didn't think they still made 19" tv's. would not stay there again. "Chipeta Spa, nice for the price"
Our room wasn't ready, but it was before 3. We had to come back later. We were charged an additional $174 after I had already paid online through Hotels.com. It was refunded after they noticed the error, however. The rooms are nice, the view is great, nice jacuzzi, heated pools, quiet, nice atmosphere. Overall it was a good stay for the price. I would […] stay again if ever in that area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you're exploring the San Juans, this is a nice stop on your way to Telluride, Ouray or Silverton, the range's three best towns. The spa and pools are nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good but pricey for country town"
Stayed 2 nights in 1 bedroom which comfortably accommodates 2 adults and 2 teens. Well maintained, very clean contrary to previous reviews. Only concern is the shower that was barely a trickle and for the cost I would really like a better shower experience. The TV lost it's signal and was not addressed by the manager although teenage sons were able […] to resolve. In summary OK for country town but a bit pricey for the amenity. "Casual & Relaxing"

Great views, food was pretty good in the restaurant, could use some sprucing up for the price. We have been to this town several times, normally stay at Orvis but wanted to try something different. Tons of things to do!!!
"inn of last resort"

Loved the hot pool. The staff was awesome. We had a couple's massage with Tammy and Windom. Excellent!!! Wish I could gush about the room. Noise Noise Noise.. We landed in the "True Grit" room. Well named. You will need it. No insulation in the ceiling lets you hear at least 4 rooms above you. From midnite trysts to lots of early flushes and tub fillings, followed by gushing water roaring down the plumbing stack behind the headboard- you get the idea. Did I mention the smoke alarm going off at 6:40 AM sat morning. That was followed up Sunday with the alarm going off twice at the same time. Oh yeah, did I mention that the room has no ventilation supply. It did come with a box fan and portable swamp cooler. They were noisy too. And be ready for the laundry room noises kicking in at 7:30 AM. I'm done!
"Fabulous views fabulous food"

Having a cocktail on the roof top bar is not to be missed! The sun setting on the mountains with this unfettered view is amazing. Then to go one flight of (outdoor) stairs to the stunning resturant is a treat in itself. The menu is sophisticated, the service impeccable, and again the mountain view is transfixing. You will have to ask at the desk how to find the entrance to the rooftop eatery. A lovely employee personally escorted us there as if she had just been waiting for us to arrive. We travel with dogs so did not stay at the resort , but the pool and lobby are inviting
"Sweet quiet relaxing atmosphere."

An awesome place to stay to get away yet be close to the outdoors. Easy drive to Ourey and Telluride. If u want to get out and hike, raft, fish it is an easy drive. If you want a great place to really hang out relax and soak up some vibes it's great as well. Good brewery in town. Relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly easy staff very accommodating.
"What a Find"
07/14/14 HobbsCentral Park City, Utah
Stumbled across Chipeta Lodge as an attendant to the local summer concert series in the Town Park. The lodge is tucked away off of the Main Street and is beautifully appointed in a southwestern theme. Each room is unique and the hotel has higher value than its pricing. Excellent friendly staff give you a tour of your room, spa, pool, amazing hot tub, great restaurant and even better Sky Bar with amazing views. With this little gem in the frequently passed by but truly special town of Ridgway, it's a great way to make your base in the San Juans. Oh, they have bikes to use and tennis racquets for the courts.
"Southwestern charm and laidback luxury"
07/14/14 Chris C Denver, Colorado
My wife and I just enjoyed a lovely weekend getaway at Chipeta. The resort has a great atmosphere and nothing was ever too much trouble. We had brought our dog with us as well and they made his stay just as enjoyable as ours. We learned about Chipeta on our honeymoon in Fiji while staying at her sister property Koro Sun. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner Jack and his wife Patsy during our stay at Chipeta. Truly genuine and caring owners made it easy to understand why this resort and Koro Sun are so special. A big thanks to Michelle and the front desk staff as well to the staff at the Four Corners cafe. We stayed in one of the condo units and were pleased with the space and privacy it had. We also loved the location, such beautiful scenery, we'll be back in the fall for some prime aspen viewing. All of this made for a wonderful weekend away from the city. We're looking forward to staying here again! Chris & Stephanie
"Lively lounge and band"
07/13/14 go_mommy Longmont, Colorado
We only had time to visit the Sky bar on Friday evening. Nice selection of wines and cocktails. The band was very lively and had people dancing. The view is astoundingly beautiful. You can sit right up close to the bar and band or father back which is what we chose because I am sensitive to loud music and this was perfect, we could see and hear the band and still talk. If you are looking for a 'grown-up' place to have something to eat, have some cocktails and enjoy the view, this is the place to stop in.
"Wonderful little resort tucked away in Ridgway"
07/08/14 Meg D Boulder, Colorado
Two friends and I recently had the very enjoyable experience of traveling to Ridgway to stay at the Chipeta Sun Lodge. It was so beautiful, one of my friends actually said she "felt like a Kardashian" ;) The amenities, including the pool, spa, our own hot tub, gorgeous views, and the 20 person solar pool were amazing. We even got free homemade chocolate chip cookies everyday! The customer service was outstanding. There's so much to do right around the resort: a short, gorgeous drive to Telluride and a brief walk into the quaint little town of Ridgway. We'll definitely be back!
"Small Town Cool"
06/21/14 Harold604 Littleton, Colorado
The whole place (rooms, spa, restaurant, etc.) has a Southwestern ambiance with a distinct style all of its own. The plants and plantings in the solarium and elsewhere are worthy of a trip by themselves. Each room is distinctly and individually decorated. The food in the restaurant (Four Corners Cafe) was very good. We had Pork Tenderloin Roulade which was very good. The restaurant's homemade granola with fruit and yogurt for breakfast was outstanding. A most restful and relaxing place. A great small resort. The towels in the room could be of a higher quality. The bed was too soft for our liking - not a criticism, but an observation. Overall the room was excellent.
"A wonderful getaway!"
06/07/14 MtHermit Hotchkiss, CO
This resort and restaurant is tucked away off the main street of Ridgeway, CO. The food was superb breakfast: chicken enchiladas; steak and eggs; biscuits and gravy; and quiche. Quite a variety and all excellent. The roof top bar/lounge has tapas on selected nights with wonderful views of the mountains and the decor of the resort is SouthWest with a lot of landscaping to make it more of a hideaway. Definitely a place to go for cocktail hour or tapas nights or a few days stay to relax and enjoy the ambiance.
