"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Great hotel close to Broadway"
The customer service was excellent and you can't beat the out-of-the-oven cookies that they give you at the front desk. The internet access in the lobby was a plus. The only down side is that the hotel is on a smaller street and it's harder to catch a cab unless you walk to one of the corners.
"Good location - easy to get to sights."
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the room was clean (although a little small) the queen-size bed was comfortable (but it took up most of the room's space), nice, large bathroom, adjustable heat. Good location made it easy to get to our venue and to sight-see.
"You will be more then satisfied."
Nice place. Great staff. Helpful. Will stay here again...
"happy family vacation"
Traveling as a family of 4, we were pleasantly pleased with our stay at the DoubleTree. The front desk staff were super nice and accomodating. The conceirge gave us great recommendations for dinner ( Tony DiNapolis - delicious Italian American fare). We expected a small room, but it was very clean and manageable. Beds were comfy and no signs of bed […] bugs. A big relief!! Although the area ( garment district) is not as nice as the financial district, we were happy with the location. Had we stayed right in times square, the noise and commotion would have been too much. But this hotel is in a great location to walk to the Empire State Bldg, as well as Times Sq uare and Central. Park. Also, parking lot across street ( 40.00 for regular cars, 50.00 for SUVs ) was safe and convenient. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Read more
The rooms are very small for 4 people. Thankfully we were only there to sleep and shower. Also there was an issue with our room being ready on time. So they were nice enough to 'upgrade' us to a higher floor with a 'view' which was not a real view of anything besides the trashy building next to it.
"Doubletree Times Square South"
Hotel was acceptable in location, service, etc. room was VERY Small but clean & comfy. Not near theatre district.

"Good Location for attending Javitts Center"
Hotel in great location for events at Javitts center and also close to theater district, Maceys and Empire State Building. Spent 4 nights . Only complaint was small slow elevators. We were on 2cd floor so took stairs most of time. Thought it was good value for the money. Would stay again.
"3 nights in the big apple"
2 blocks from Penn station. Easy to access mass transit from hotel. Easily within walking distance of times square,Madison square garden and empire state building. Hotel was clean and concierge was helpful. Would stay again.
"terrific location"
This hotel is close to everything you might want to see in mid-town, and easy to get to. Just a short walk from either 8th Ave or 7th Ave subway at 34st. The room was large and comfortable--and quiet despite the proximity to all the "action" in mid-town. Highly recommended.
"Close to Times Square"
This was my first stay in any hotel in NYC. The hotel was clean and the service was friendly and helpful. The room was incredibly small. When looking back, the amount paid for the room could not be justified by the hotel itself but the proximity to Times Square is what made the deal worth it. A continental breakfast would have been nice too.
"good business hotel"
well located; efficient and professional staff; great breakfast. only minor negative was a metal plate i the street that made a noise every time a car went over it which woke me up with early commuting traffic but can't hold the hotel responsible for the streets of NY!
"NOT right on Times Square like I thought"
I typed in "Double Tree / Times Square/ NYC" and this little hotel popped up. A friend had stayed at the Double Tree that is smack dab in Times Square (Across from the bleachers that remain in place at all times) and so I thought this was the hotel I was booking. Don't get me wrong, this Double Tree hotel was lovely, comfortable, clean and with good […] hotel staff. They even gave us each a warm cookie upon arrival which was a very nice, unexpected treat. It's just that it wasn't the hotel right in Times Square that I had hoped it to be. My mistake, I know. So if that's what YOU are looking for, keep looking! But be careful because I was told there are 4 Double Tree Hotels in and around the Times Square area. The one I booked is called "Double Tree Times Square South" (A tad misleading yes) and it's about 8 city blocks away from Times Square which isn't a bad walk if you don't mind walking. It's right next to the garment district if that's your thing. Read more
"surprisingly clean"
I was expectanting the room to be a lil on the dingy side. I was very surprise to find the room clean and fresh. Nice clean sheets and a comfortable bed. The room is rather small but heck, who sleeps when you're visiting NYC!
"Nice stay"
Very nice staff. Clean room. Elevators are slow
"Hotel Hilton in NYC"
Great experience!!!
"Good value and location"
I spent a week in NYC and had an excellent stay at the Double Tree. The room was clean and the property well maintained. It is convenently located in the garment district close to Penn Station and not far from Time Square and the theater district. I would definitely stay there on future trips to the city.
The room was clean, yet as small as it gets, and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was modern and roomy. The neighbourhood isn't all pretty but the hotel is conveniently located, near the subway and close to time square. It's a shame we were allocated a room on the 2nd floor. Checking is only at 3pm, but the conciergerie can keep your luggage before […] that time. Read more
"double tree hotel extra friendly staff!"
One of the finest hotels we've ever stayed in!!! Extra friendly staff. Very clean rooms with a busy maid service. Plan on staying here again. Also a great location in Mid town.
"Good location"
Simple clean hotel that in a super convenient location. Fastest check in I have ever experienced with a delicious warm cookie too. Super simple check out procedure (just call to say "checking out", leave key in room and walk out).
"Hotel 36: a mixed review"
There were 2 small elevators and at times one was out. We waited on an upper floor for over 15 minutes to get down to the lobby. Good service and good breakfast. The hotel in general seems outdated compared to other New York Hilton hotels. The small lobby, small elevators and small rooms gave us a claustrophobic feeling. It is close to the subway, Macy's […] and Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. Read more

"Hotel 36 - Nice hotel, bad location, risky valet"
I was in NYC on business for 3 days in January. I stayed at the Hotel 36, and I definitely had a mixed experience. The hotel itself was nice; the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were nicely sized for a hotel in NYC, and most importantly, NO BEDBUGS! Yay! I chose this hotel because they had no results on the bed bug registry, and our room […] was very clean. Now, for the negatives. The hotel's location on W36th between 8th and 9th meant it was on a little side street, in an area that never seemed quite right, even in the daytime. Also, our last night there there was construction to remove a generator right outside our window which kept us up the entire night. I would definitely request a room on a higher floor next time for that reason alone. The biggest problem I had though was with the parking. Now, I expected it to be expensive, being NYC and all, but the valet was very suspicious. When I got my tag, it had no time listed on it. We checked in at 7 PM. When I went to get my car, they had somehow punched in my car as arriving at 3 PM, and tried to charge me for an extra day. thankfully, i had a receipt on me from the day I arrived showing that I had eaten lunch in Cambridge, MA, 10 minutes before I was supposedly punched in, so I had physical proof that there was no way I could have actually checked in at 3 PM. Hotel management was helpful when confronted with this evidence; they credited my account the amount to pay the garage for the extra day i was charged, so it was handled to my satisfaction. Overall, I had a nice stay; the only things I could complain about was the hotel's location, and things that the hotel itself couldn't control. I'd recommend the hotel, just make sure that if you bring a car, your car is checked in at the appropriate time! Read more
it was more than we ever expected more like a 4 star and was extremely affordable great time reccomend to all. A wonderful breakfast buffet included maybe 5 stars thanks
"Should be cleaner"
Not very bad but should have been cleaned MUCH better. There was someone's food in the refrigerator, the coffee maker had a used filter in it along with used coffee grinds. Shower was moldy. The included breakfast was nice. When I mentioned the problems to the front desk they did nothing about it.
"A little disappointed"
This hotel was OK but nothing special. The actual room was very nice and comfortable (but small compared to other NYC hotels I have stayed in). My disappointment is with the hotel staff. In particular, we found the front desk agent very abrupt and generally not friendly; the concierge advised us to leave for the airport 3 hours before our flight saying […] it would take at least an hour to get there (and it only took 30 minutes); and we called room service to request a bottle opener and it never arrived. Overall, not the best experience, but not the worst either. Read more
"DoubleTree by Hilton, NY - Times Square South"
The hotel and rooms look clean and the staff is friendly. The hotel room is decently sized including the bathroom. The only downside might be that it is not exactly on Times Square, this is still 15 - 20 minutes walking.

Nice hotel, good location
"Bom Hotel"
Read more
