Simply step outside to unwind on the hotel's beach. This beach hotel offers a restaurant, a coffee shop/café, and a bar/lounge. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast. "nice little hide away"
the star rating does not exactly agree with US or Europe -standards, but the stuff and the overall invironment made up for it. They make you feel like extended family. Very accomodating with the african version of "take it easy" - hakuna matata ..... good experience
"Very friendly staff, clean, simple and inexpensive"
The hotel is on Zanzibar's East coast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant chef cooks great local food. The bungalows are very basic but super clean. The location is ideal. Laid-back setting. All you need for a relaxing vacation.
"Nice quite get away"
All together my stay was very nice. I was there to relax and that is just what happened. Beautiful beaches, it was quite and far enough away from the markets but close enough to be able to get out for a bit if you wanted to. Services are slow but i wasn't in a rush. I enjoyed my rest and relaxation.

A great place to spend a holiday! The people are so nice and relaxed... everything is Hakuna matata:-) You do not need to make a visa at home, they will make it for you in the airport of Zanzibar and it takes 2 min. Have a beautiful holiday:-)

This Place was very far from every thing. The Beach was not well kept, limited items on menu. Service took forever. And they over charge for everything. In My opinion the 3.7 rating must be Tanzanian. In American and Canadain Standards this place is like a -(minus) 30 a real dump and not well kept at all. I promptly checked out and went to the Hilton […] Double tree in Nungwi Beach a small piece of Paradise. Stay away from this place, IF cost and money is an issue try finding a cheaper place closer to civilization this place is alos 170KM from Town. My advise " Stay away " . I stayed over the weekend. Hotel and the stuff there where nice, but I was looking for more of a party/ back packer place over the party weekend. For couples on their budget honey moon this would be a perfect place to stay. For people travelling on their own and looking for meeting other travellers, wouldnt recomend. This simple living resort is for those who want quiet and cheaper though we found the food lacking in choice and certainly not cheap. Otherwise, OK accommodations, nice beach, very lay back place.

Spectacular location and very friendly serviuce from the hotel proprietor with the best name in the world (uhuru - swahili foir freedom). Would definitely return in the future.
Wish they would build path to restaurant. After long day on beach, and after a shower- you want to be clean when you walk to the restuarant. Too much sand everywhere- feet and legs always dirty

Accueil très sympathique de midi , uhuru et toute l équipe de. L hôtel . Les repas sont excellents ainsi que le petit déjeuner qui est très copieux . L emplacement est un véritable enchantement et la piscine très agréable . Nous avons passe tout le mois de janvier et nous y serions bien restes encore !...

Väldigt fint läge alldeles vid stranden som nästan kändes som en privat strand eftersom det var så lugnt o trivsamt. Bra mat. Dock dagliga strömavbrott när vi var där varför bla internet inte fungerade. Fina områden på hotellet med hängmattor o litet bibliotek. Ebb o flod eftersom det är på östra delen av ön.

"Lata dagar vid poolen"
Hotellet är fräscht och personalen mycket trevlig och hjälpsam. Eftersom stranden precis utanför hotellet inte är så badvänlig, blev poolen mest aktuell. Vill och orkar man, kan man gå ca 20 minuter norrut på stranden för att komma till Paje där sanden är vit och vattnet underbart. Endroit sale, difficilement accessible, au milieu de nulpart (premier village à 6 kms sans transport à part le taxi très cher), avec une plage où la baignade est impossible car plage jonchée de détritus (bouteilles vides, tissus, couches bébés, etc.), les algues sèches pas ratissées et plein de rochers en surface du sable pour se faire mal aux pieds. […] Les serveurs sont sales, nous servent avec des chemises sales, il y a des endroits dépotoirs dans l'enceinte de l'hôtel (photos à l'appui) et pour couronner le tout, ils construisent de nouveaux bungalows et à partir de 06.00 du matin, on ne dort plus. Hôtes parfaits, très professionnels, rien à redire... On se sent comme à la maison en mieux.
4 jours, Toussaints 2011 avec famille de 7 personnes. Bungalows en dur (2 chambres par bâtiment) sur un sable blanc et très fin, belle plage à quelques mètres. Nombreux coins tranquilles à l'ombre des arbres en haut de la plage (matelas sur des lits d'extérieur en bois, hamacs qui font le principal charme de l'hôtel). Chambres modestes sans confort. […] Lits inconfortables, draps vraisemblablement pas 100 pct coton. Nettoyage de la chambre en déposant la clé à la réception. Lors de la coupure quotidienne d'électricité (env 1 h presque tous les soirs), passage sur groupe électrogène pour salle de vie, mais pas d'électricité dans les chambres. Accueil agréable mais le touriste est largement (comme peut être partout sur l'île) pris pour un distributeur à billet. Une excursion avec l'hôtel, très décevante : visite intéressante d'une "spice ferm" mais ne pas retenir le repas, sans grand intérêt et qui alourdit la facture. Il faut négocier les prix, même si de nombreux touristes semblent aligner cash. Sortie en boutre pour snorkllng : à faire rien que pour la ballade sur un boutre typique à grande voile triangulaire, mais prix hôtel = plus du double que prix proposé directement par les marins, particulièrement gentils et patients. Restaurant de l'hotel très sympa : nourriture bonne, un douzaine de choix de plats principaux (pieuvre, calamar, gambas...) - comptez environ 10-12€/personne avec une boisson. Conclusion : séjour agréable, le plus décevant n'est sans doute pas propre à l'hôtel qui a pour principal intérêt une belle situation sur la plage. Read more

Mycket prisvärt och fint ställe för några dagars lugn avkoppling. Litet familjeägt hotell vid Indiska Oceanen med trevlig lugn personal. Ren pool finns vid hotellet. Går endast att bada i havet vid högvatten nära hotellet, men inte alls lång att gå om man även vill bada vid lågvatten. Ligger mitt emellan bra stränder både norr och söderut. Tar ca 30 […] minuter att gå till Paje centrum. Strömavbrott förekommer på någon timma nästan dagligen då endast resurangen har ström från egen generator. Bra frukost och bra ala carte-mat. Rummen är trevliga med varmvatten. Gratis internetuppkoppling vid resurangen. Återkommer gärna vid tillfälle. Read more

Hotellbeskrvningen stämmer inte med verkligheten går inte att bada i havet, koraller överallt, inger gratis vatten på rummet, inget depositonsskåp, skall finnas enligt beskrining! Räkna med strlmavbrott allt mellan 5 minuter till 12 timmar! Frukost ok men knappast mättande, ala carte maten kabonbra, köp med vatten vin vad ni behöver så blir det betydligt […] billigare. Hotellet har pool med saltvatten så du behöver duscha, om duschen fungerar på ditt rum, varmvatten fanns i 3dagar av 7 som vi var där. Hotellt ok för max 2 dagar för att ladda dig själv. Read more

Einfaches, preisgünstiges aber sauberes Hotel. Nette Angestellte, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Bei voller Auslastung ist die Bedienung in der Gaststätte etwas überfordert. Aber im Urlaub hat Zeit ja eine andere Dimension.

heerlijke bungalow, prachtige plek, bediening een beetje 'polle polle', maar niet storend. uitstekende prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. stukje ongerept eiland. heerlijke backpackers-sfeer, maar ook leuk voor gezinnetje. aanrader.

otelin su tesisatı problemli. duş suyu yetersiz tazyikte. otelin dışında ve sahilde çevre temizliği yapmak gerekiyor. bu hususlar tamamlanırsa mükemmel bir butik tesis olur.

"Mbuyni beach hotel near Jambiani"
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff but not very fast or effective (lunch dinner drinks etc. takes a looong time to get). Room was ok but seemed like it had been cleaned a week ago or so and had spiderwebs when we arrived. It was cleaned better during the stay. We had two beds out of which one was very bad. The surroundings are nice and it is very quiet, […] relaxed and calm place to stay. The "swingchairs" are nice and the pool clean. The beach could maybe be cleaned a bit better - it is strange how well they keep cleaning the walkways etc. but do nothing to the beach litter. Hotel organized good value snorkelling trip with dhowboat. Read more
