Hotel located across from Metro station in the old port area. Room was spartan but adequate for use. We were on the top floor, very sloping roof in the room with dead space under it, unable to stand up on that side of the room but with two of us it was not a problem. Buffet breakfast was very nice with plenty of options. WIFI was up and running without any problems. Helpful front desk staff. Check in on ground level, rooms start on floor 3 and up to 6, bottom two floors belong to another business.
"GREAT STAY IN MARSEILLE"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
This is our second stay at the hotel. We plan to stay here the next time we visit Marseille. Staff were all very helpful and cordial. The overnight staff member went out of his way to assist my wife when she want not feeling.the hotel is in the middle of the Vieux Port area close to all the important sites of an area that boasts being 2600 years old
"Nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 29, 2012
The Holiday Inn Express is across the street from the main Marseille Train Station and is incredibly convenient to it especially if you have an early departure or late arrival. The hotel looks new and is very modern and comfortable. In addition there is a nice free breakfast and free WiFi. The only drawback is the neighborhood. It is barely OK and there are almost no restaurants. I repeat no restaurants. There are some very nice restaurants down by the harbor and especially on the east side of the harbor
"Overall good hotel"Reviewed by Christina C of "Vegas" on Apr 15, 2012
After being in Paris for the weekend it was refreshing to be in Toulon. I chose this place because I was there for work, location was great, walking distance to plenty of restaurants & train station...the room was old but clean, beds not comfy, nice staff...wish I had more time in Toulon but I recommend this one.

Known for its hearty red wines, this former tuna port makes a good-value touring base. Apartment blocks and a vast marina have altered the views in recent decades, but Bandol’s tree-lined promenade and a protective arc of wooded hills make a scenic setting. Quayside markets and the Maison des Vins du Bandol showcase local products. Boats ply to nearby Ile de Bendor which offers superb water sports and France’s largest exhibition of wines and spirits.
