"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.

"excellent!"
hotel was perfect, quiet, fast elevator, breakfast prepared every morning, staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, great location, well priced!! it was an excellent choice !!
"Very convenient location"
The Hampton Inn was located rigt next to Time Square. We were able to walk to most attractions. The subway station is also very close. Breakfast and all-day coffee/ tea were great. The elevator wait can be long in the mornings, however we were on a lower floor and could easily take the stairs. The rooms are a good size, especially for NYC, we had plenty […] of room for our suitcase and backpacks. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Read more
"Excellent service and location"
We truly enjoyed our stay here. The only problems we had were that the room was 2 hours late being ready for us, and though the breakfast was great, there needs to be 2-3 good toasters as the one there was too slow and caused a back-up in the line. I would stay here again next time I go. The staff was great!
"Close to Time Square"
The hotel was convenient and clean but the room was small and the elevator took forever. The staff was very nice and helpful.
"First time in NYC!"
This hotel was in a great location for everything we wanted to do. Times Square was only 3 blocks away, and the subway locations were only a block or two away away as well. We came in via the Lincoln Tunnel, and it only took us about 5 minutes to reach the hotel. The hotel room was very small, however it is NYC so it was to be expected. The main downfall […] this hotel had was the elevator! It was frequently a very long wait to get to our room or to get out of the hotel. Plan accordingly when using it! Breakfast time was the worst!! The only complaint I have is that there is too much congestion at the elevators. Also, I would have liked a refrigerator and safe in my room.
I did not like that there was no refrigerator or safe in the room. The continental breakfast was very nice but always crowded. The elevators are too close to the main entrance and are in between the entrance and the area where breakfast is served, so there was always congestion. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I liked the staff but I would […] not stay here again. Read more
"Close to ALL must see sights"
FABULOUS!!! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They always greeted you whenever they saw you. I find that very endearing as people do not greet people when they enter a room anymore. The room was VERY clean, small but CLEAN. We were not in our room much so it was perfect. We were at the hotel over Easter and the staff did GREAT. There must […] have been 100 people at breakfast and they keep up with the eaters. The Easter Bunny was also there which shows they go out of their way. My sister and I decided if we were to visit NYC again we would definetly stay at this location. We were close to H???'s Kitchen where there were wonderful resturants that we ate at, we were very close to the Theater district and Times Square and Macy's. How could it get any better. Yes the hotel is a bit on the small side..but really all you want is when you come home is a comfortable bed, maybe a hot cookie and a good rest...and we got all of that. Read more
"First time overnight in NYC"
Glad that I did the overnight so that I can say that I did it. Don't think I would do it again overnight because of the cost of the hotel and train. Room was small (there were 4 of us with 2 double beds). I would go to NYC again but only for the day on a bus trip or train.
Staff in the kitchen/ breakfast area was super sweet, but the Main Desk/ Lobby staff could certainly use some more lessons in hospitality and customer service and were downright rude at times. Location was not ideal, and we have stayed at similar hotels and rec'd a lot more for the money. Free breakfast is a plus, but considering the wait times at the […] elevator, small rooms and unfriendly and unhelpful staff, would not stay here again. Read more
"Hampton Inn-walking distance to Times Square"
Friendly staff. Very convenient to Times Square & Subway station. Free Breakfast- perfect if you're traveling with kids.
"Good value"
I would definitely recommend this hotel. The location was great - within walking distance of Times Square, Empire State Building. Close to subway stop. Breakfast buffet was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the room was small, but still a good value. Elevator service during peak times […] was slow. Overall, this is a great hotel. Read more

"Hampton Inn Manhattan/South Times Square"
Staff at the Hampton Inn South were amazing. They greeted you everytime they saw you. We were there over Easter and they had a wonderful brunch and were able to keep up with the 100 people that ate there that morning. The Easter Bunny also showed up which made it fun. The staff was always handing out candy or water or suggesting cookies. They were very […] helpful with any needs we had. The ROOMS were small but CLEAN AND we were close to the action of the city. cCLEAN is what it is all about and the beds are comfortable. We loved the proximity to Times Square, Theater district and Hell's Kitchen where there tons of resturants. There were four of us in our room and we ALL kept saying how great the service, food and room was. Our vacation marked stepping stones in some of our familys lives and the Hampton Inn experience just added to it. My sister and I said if we go back to New York we would DEFINITELY stay there again! Nice clean rooms but standard small size. Shower did not always have hot water and never had adequate power.

"Good for business"
I stayed only one night at this hotel for business trip. Location is good. The room was clean. I don't see any big problem.
"Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South"
The best part about our stay was the staff! Very friendly, very helpful, especially the concierge!
"Excellent stay at Hampton Inn Times Square South"
I just returned from my first trip to New York, where I stayed for 4 nights at the Hampton Inn Times Square South, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the hotel. The room and hotel were very clean, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. We found that going to breakfast around 8:15 was a good time as […] far as not having to wait long for the elevator and not having trouble finding a table. We never really had to wait very long for the elevator during our entire trip except for the one morning when we went to breakfast around 9:30-that morning was much more crowded for breakfast and a little longer of a wait for the elevator. It was very helpful to have the free Wi-Fi in our room , as we needed to look up some different things about t"""he attractions we were going to visit while we were in town. The free cookies in the afternoon were a nice treat as well. The hotel is a convenient walk to Times Square and the subway station. It is on a street that does not look as appealing as some of the streets closer to Times Square, but at no time did we feel unsafe walking to/from the hotel, even at night ( and I was with a group of two other women and two 13 year old girls). It was so helpful to be able to have our luggage stored for us at the hotel on our last day, as our flight didn't leave until that night, so we were able to have the whole day to visit another attraction before leaving without worrying about our luggage. The hotel staff were so helpful in arranging a ride back to the airport. They were even able to weigh our luggage for us to be sure it didn't go over the 50 pound limit so that we wouldn't have to pay the extra $100.00 fee, which I didn't know about when I left home and had to pay for the flight to New York! We had a great trip to New York and a great stay at the Hampton Inn Times Square South- for those on a tighter budget and needing a hotel in this price range, I would highly recommend this hotel! The elevator service is perhaps the worst I've ever dealt with. There are 32 floors with only a few rooms on each floor and only two elevators. The waits were absolutely incredible.
"Great location and breakfast but small room"
The Hampton is walking distance to Times Square and Broadway shows. Great breakfast and clean. The rooms however were small and I did not appreciate the governor on the hot water for the shower. For the price it was a good value.
"Facility Issues"
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accomodating. They have only 2 small slow elevators. At busy times the wait is excessive and unacceptable. Had to walk down 10 flights a couple of times. Also the breakfast area is way too small and congested. Overall decent value.

"very friendly staff"
The staff went out of their way to help and ask what we needed. The breakfast buffet was good.
"Would stay there again."
Nice and quiet, and if you avoid the morning rush, elevator wait isn't an issue at all. Appreciated the responsive staff.
"Hampton Inn Times Square South"

"Excellent Hotel, Well worth the value"
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while at a conference. next to Times Square. We chose this hotel because it was significantly cheaper, close to Times Square, The Conference, and the free breakfast. It did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly helpful and accomodating. Free breakfast was very good and had many choices. Staff gave us bottled water […] to go, and free warm cookies at night. Rooms were updated and clean. However the rooms were very very Small. Our room had 2 double beds that were pushed up against opposite walls and maybe 2 feet seperating them. We didn't mind the cramped room however because it was clean, cheap, and we were in the room very little. Would definately recommend this hotel to a friend and would definately stay here again. "Good stay at Hampton Times Square South"
Good location, wonderful folks at front desk, very modern rooms. Rooms a bit small but very manageable, bathroom relatively large and new. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate available all day and nice breakfast buffet in morning.

"Hampton Inn Manhattan-Convenient"
This hotel was convenient to Penn Station and Times Square. The staff were friendly and the breakfasts were great.
Hotel is very convenient a good bargain.
"great value"
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and good breakfast. Great hotel
"very impressed"
This hotel was pretty awesome both in price and customer service. They were exceptionally inviting and VERY professional. I also really enjoyed the cookies they have at the front desk. Ocassionaly taken more than I needed. My only complaint preventing me from giving it all 5s was the elevator. Luckily I was only on the 8th floor so I could readily walk […] up or down. But sometimes the wait seemed to take abnormally long. The positives more than outweighed the negative. I would definitely recomment it and plan on staying here on my next visit. Read more
"Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South"
Great place, clean, friendly and polite guest services staff, great breakfasts, my only gripe was that during early am, shower water wasn't very hot but at night t'was fine. Would stay there again.
"PERFECT"
For ny...the breakfeast is great! A bit busy if you wait late..but tons of food and variety. The staff is OUSTANDINGLY FREINDLY! They were so very helpful and friendly. The comforters in the room were a bit worn...but thats the only complaint i would have...perfect location and wonderful place to stay in NY!
Great location for us. Walking to Times Square was perfect.. Free water bottles and breakfast was a great bonus!
"Excellent Service, Price, and Location"
I arrived about 2 hours early for check-in, but they had a room available for me. The room was a little on the small side, which is standard for New York City hotels, but it was comfortable. My only complaint was that the sheet that was placed on our king bed was way too small and it would sometimes come off of the corners of the bed. We did not want […] room service so we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door when we left for the day. When we returned we found a bag of clean towels and a new set of shampoos and soaps. The hotel was a short walking distance to Times Square. The night before we were to checkout we requested late checkout which was at 1pm as opposed to 12pm. Since our bus did not leave until 7pm, we had the hotel hold our bags until 6pm. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to friends! Read more
"Clean Rooms, Good Breakfast, Helpful Staff!"
Three of us stayed in a room with two double beds, which was tight, but certainly fine. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The room also had a hair dryer and iron/board. During our stay, breakfast included home fries, omelets, biscuits and gravy, fruit, muffins, etc. Coffee was readily available, and the concierge frequently […] gave out fresh, warm cookies. We checked in at 7pm, and after check out the hotel stored our luggage and kept the car in the garage until 7pm that evening. Overall, our stay was great! Read more
"convenient but pricey for small room"
many hotel in New York have small rooms but this one was so small that I could barely get the chair out from under the desk because the bed was in the way. the bathroom only had a small shower and the towels were small. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was in town for a convention at the Javitt's Center and could walk to it in […] less than 10 minutes. That was great. The staff was very friendly and I was able to work out in a clean but small fitness area. Overall my stay was fine it was just a small room. I was also able to walk to the theater district in about 5 minutes. Read more
"Nice Room, Close To Times Square"
We were really only there to sleep after spending a night out in Times Square. The room was small but it really didnt matter since we didnt spend time there. It was very clean and I liked the stand up shower stall in the bathroom. The only negative thing I can say is the bed wasnt very comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and […] even helped us get directions to the places we were visiting that night. The hotel is only a few blocks from Times Square and maybe a 15 minute walk to Penn Station which was great because we didnt need to spend any money on taxi fare. Overall this Hotel was a very good deal and in a really good location. Read more

"Great Value for Manhattan, incredible hospitality"
Rooms are new and clean.. Small, but typical for Manhattan and the price is reasonable... the hospitality and friendliness of the staff was above average. As a matter of fact, the front desk woman, Rosalind, went above and beyond the call of duty.. After being more than personable and accommodating at check-in, she called the room to make sure it was […] to my liking, and because we made jokes about Fruit at check in and over the phone, she surprised me and had someone send up a small fruit basket courtesy of her at the front desk.. Wow, that never happened anywhere before in a hotel I stayed at... Don't hesitate to stay here for the money...... Read more
Great location; esp. if you arrive in NYC by bus. Easy walk or subway to everywhere. Friendly staff.
"Excellent location, price and service."
My recent stay proved to be be one of the best travel decisions ever. Recommended by a good friend who travels to NY at least once a year, I made my reservation. The location allows one to feel as if they're part of NY without paying an exhorbitant amount of money. Surrounded by neighborhood restaurants, shops and offices, you almost feel as if you […] live there. Within walking distance to Times Square and sightseeing tour bus stops, it's quite convenient for seeing most of Manhatten. Price was unbeatable; I had only intended to stay one night but was persuaded to stay another to enjoy more sightseeing on my whirlwind tour. Service was fantastic. Yordano, Hatanashi and others were all very friendly, professional and helpful with neighborhood tips and such. I'm definitely returning to NY and this hotel! Read more
