Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South - New York

It was a very nice stay. Very lovely room and courteous staff, on point and knew the area. Would I come back again? Yes. Close to everything in a couple of blocks walk Love the Duvet Covers on the bed. Bed was excellent comfort.

Our room, while New York-small, was very clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet, a nice surprise for the City of Sirens. However, for a 35-floor hotel, there are only two smallish elevators, which meant that it took forever for to go up and down. It was maddening. The location of the hotel is nice and close to Times Square, and it is easy to get to many local attractions. 2x2 blocks from Time Square Center. Excellent Free Continental Breakfast. Very comfortable bedsheets and comforter. Hotel and room very clean. Customer service excellent. Was the least expensive hotel in the area when we visited 5/24/13. Very nice hotel compared to the others in the same ranking.

Very well located near Penn Station and Broadway/Times Square, ideal for a busy tourist trip to NYC. Rooms are a bit small and packed, but we were just there to sleep, so no problem. Where do I begin? The elevators weren't working most of the time (thank God we were on the 10th floor). Worst yet the Hotel was under construction and there wasn't a breakfast buffet like promised in the Hotels.com price. Instead we received a small version of an egg mcmuffin, warm orange juice and yogurt served to our room usually a half hour or more […] late. Generally I like the Hampton Inn. I'm not expecting a four star hotel. I stay here because it's clean, I can get coffee whenever I want, it's a good price and the location is great. All that said, this was a particularly tough experience. The staff was very nice and there were a lot of them--but they just couldn't seem to get anything done! I waited […] for 15 minutes to get my bags which had been stored for the day. Several different people were involved with the process of locating my bags. One bag arrived but not the second--another 5 minutes went by to find the 2nd bag. There was construction going on so there was a lot of chaos in the very small lobby with furniture being moved about. Upon arrival my room wasn't ready. There is one restroom in the basement for which there was a really long line of people (also waiting for rooms)--10 minute wait to use the bathroom; elevators are very, very slow. When I checked out each passing elevator was full when the doors opened--finally I insisted on squeezing in with my two small bags much to the loud complaints of other cranky elevator passengers who had also been waiting. I could go on but you get the picture. This is a great location, the rooms are good and the prices are usually good but DO NOT expect any level of basic service and please be patient at all times for everything. Read more

The location was perfect because of accessability to Penn Station and the Port Authority and Times Square.The staff were friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It made the stay so much more pleasurable. When ever in New York, I'll choose Hampton Inn.

This hotel and its employees are proof that customer service is alive and well! Staff was extremely kind and went above and beyond for some personal issues that came up. The room itself was well maintained and the bed quite comfortable. The area is walking distance to a Metro stop. I will definitely look this hotel up the next go around.

Hotel staff was terrific! The check-in hostess, Jennifer, was super friendly, gave us all the information about the hotel amenities and suggestions for things to do. All of the staff in the lobby said hello and were genuine in their greetings. We arrived at the hotel around 1 PM and were able to go to our room immediately! Each floor has only 4-5 rooms […] on it - and there are two elevators - so yes, sometimes we had to wait for the elevator, but it wasn't long. The rooms were not huge, but I thought they were decent sized for NYC. The breakfast in the morning was well rounded - eggs, sausage, and assorted pastries, waffles. The hotel kept our bags for us the next day while we were out sightseeing until the evening, when our train out was. I was very pleased with the stay and would definitely stay here again! Read more

This hotel is located two blocks from 42nd street. The hotel is very clean. The hotel staff was very accommodating and all request were handled in a timely manner. The hotel provided breakfast daily as well as complimentary coffee throughout the day. However, the size of the rooms were extremely small. AMAZING customer service! I, myself, am in the hotel industry and this hotel has raised the bar for customer serive from the Hampton Inn chain hotels. Luis at the front desk was absolutely helpful during both my stays (9/12 and 2/13). Clean, modern rooms, hot breakfast with great selection of food in the morning, hot chocolate/coffee/tea at night and […] snacks and drinks available for free at front desk any time of day. Everyone was so helpful and I felt like I had everyting I needed at all times. Would definitely reccomend to friends and family in the future. I gave a 3 on comfort of room category because one of the nights, some people on my floor were slamming their doors for a good while and yelling. The room was also facing the street so the noise was very heavy at night time. Also, you can't completely block out the sunlight, because the heavy curtains didn't cover the entire window. Overall the hotel was good. It was a couple of blocks from times square which was great. The rooms are extremely small as are the hallways. There are only 2 elevators for 32 floors. But overall it was pretty good, considering it is in Manhattan and the price.

I stayed here because of trade show at the Javitt's center and it is less than a 10 minute walk. the room was clean, updated and adequate for my stay.
