The Capri inn was very nice the second you walk through the door to check in but then when you go to the room you can tell it wasn't cleaned right. I dropped something and looked under my bed and saw food from people before me. It was pretty gross. Then when I took a shower the water went everywhere it seemed as if the shower wasn't working well.. It […] did stay warm through out my shower, so that was good. Get as far away from this place as you can. I only stayed there for 7 hours and seriously considered forgoing my reservation, to go somewhere else. The smell was terrible, there was hair in the bathtub, and I would not dare sleep under the sheets of the bed.

The room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and also a urine smell around the AC unit. The beds were old and the pillows were plastic coated and noisy to sleep on and not comfortable. The rooms overall were nice.The bedspreads were covered with cigarette burns on the inside. It was supposed to be a non-smoking facility. It was OK for a short stay.

The hotel was about an hours bus ride away from the city. The price was right and the condition was good on the inside. the walls were super thin though and we had some annoying boys stay up till 4:30 a.m. making lots of noise.

The Bad...My wife and I arrived on Sunday for a week stay, We had requested a non smoking room when we booked and prepaid, but when we arrived only smoking rooms were available. The room stunk! The AC was set to 60 but never got below high 70's (Just imaging hot damp stale smoke and no way to clear it. 2 bottles of fabrize made it habitable until morning.) I […] went for open heart surgery the next morning and my wife stayed while I was in the hospital and when I returned 5 days later still no non smoking room. So 5 days post op from open heart surgery, I slept in my car in the parking lot. Interesting late activities including multiple visits from the local police but I don't know why. The rooms still use duplicate-able brass keys, so be sure to double lock when you are inside. The good... A late room service request was accomplished without a complaint (Seems they turn some rooms a few times a day so they keep housekeeping working round the clock.) The Security guard checked on me in the car as was both courteous and pleasant, and assured me he will keep an eye on me in the car overnight. I understand it was Thanksgiving week, and the rates are high everywhere, but I also wish I had read a review like this one before I booked, I would not have done so. YMMV Read more

The motel looks old from outside, but the room was very clean. We had a standard king bed, non smoking and it was very comfortable and didi not smell of cigaretes. The price is very reasonable and the hotel staff are friendly. I would recommend it to those on a budget !!

I was in NJ for business twice this summer. The first time I spent the big bucks to stay at the Teaneck Marriott, which was nice, but twice as expensive as this place. I decided to go cheap for my return trip, so I chose the Capri Inn. I expected it to be a lesser place, and I was correct. Having said that, this place works just fine as long as your […] expectations aren't too high. The check-in process was pleasant, the staff was helpful with directions and accomodated my request for a no-smoking room without any attitude. This is more like a motel, with the doors on the inside of a creepy, outdated, and slightly funky-smelling hallway. It seemed like it might have been a shiny new hotel of the future - back in 1973? You get an old fashioned metal key instead fof a keycard, which was kind of neat. Upon entering the room, I was surpised to find a microwave, minifridge, ironing board, TV, some furniture, and a quite comfy bed. I always pull the headboards off the wall to check for bed bugs, none to be found in this room, yay! The place had an outdated feel, and a slightly musty smell. It's the kind of room you want to keep your slippers any time you aren't in the shower or bed because the carpet just looks like it's a haven for germs. By the fourth night, I had been there long enough and I wanted to go home. The location was very convenient, and the staff was friendly. I saved over $300 by switching from the Marriott. I would highly recommend this place, as long as you know what you are getting into and you are alright with that. Save some money by sacrificing some comforts. Read more

In respect of location/price/quality ratio Capri Inn is the best in Manhattan surroundings. First, about the location. Buses 165 & 165T are just across the street and take directly to Manhattan center. Last bus back is at 1:00am, so don't party too long. :) Navigating inside the hotel is confusing. It's one long corridor with lots of turns. Parking […] is ample. There's a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways. However, non-smoking rooms are not penetrated by the smoke. Room is sufficiently large, decent TV & cable, microwave, iron & fridge. Ice costs 25 cents. There's an onsite restaurant, but ShopRite grocery and liquor stores are few blocks up. The photos of this establishment did not represent what was in store for me and my girlfriend. The room was dark due to the dark wall paper and dark carpeting.
