We stayed at the Encore early Nov 2009. The room we stayed was on 21st floor facing the pool and the golf course. We didn't realize that it also facing the club XS which opens friday to monday. The music was so loud and went on until 4 in the morning that neither of us could sleep. Since we had to leave early the next day, we had only about 3 hours of sleep. When I callled and complained to the front desk. They acknowledged that they KNEW about the problem and I was not the only one who complained. Yet they can't explain to me why no one had notify me about this problem when I checked in nor offered me a room facing away from the noisy club. The person I talked on the phone also ensured me that he would talked to the management and would send an email to me the very same day regarding the situation. It had been five days since we checked out, I'm still waiting for the email for the management. The problem was bad, yet the way they handled the complaint was what disappoints me the most.

The Encore is a well appointed and lovely hotel, but, in terms of a 5* property it comes up lacking... in several areas: CONS: 1) Everything is ala carte... there is nothing included with your room other than linens 2) No in room coffee maker 3) The fitness center is $30/day 4) Food and beverage, along with room service is extremely expensive 5) Casino is relatively small with only fairly expensive, smoky tables 6) The pool only gets sunlight about 4 hours per day 7) One hottub... for lots of guests 8) No HBO or any movie channel except for PPV (of course), AMC and TNT... PROS: 1) They do have an outdoor casino by the European (topless)pool that is wonderful... but only open during the day-- at night you have to pay a $30 cover for the XS night club to get to it 2) The gym and spa are wonderful-- almost worth the $30 3) The staff is very helpful and courteous 4) The coffee bar makes great coffee, but they should for those prices

Never liked the look and feel of the Wynn, however, Encore absolutely nails the experience. Stylish, sophisticated, impeccable room service, amazing restaurant. We stayed in a Panoramic Suite. Beautiful view, spacious suite, amazing bathroom. My only complaint was the service at Botero, their steak house. The food was quite good although the portions were a bit large for fine cuisine. Fois gras, scallops, all tasty. However, the servers were out of synch, slow and inattentive. Without the Botero experience, it was an A+ experience.

You also couldn't find a table in the casino with a buy in under $15.Club XS in the Wynn was a great party spot on friday nite but way too crowded on Saturday. In the end if your looking to just chill in a great room and have a blast allday at the pool this hotel is perfect. If you are on a tight budget I would look elsewhere.

Pools are fabulous and there are plenty of comfy lounge chairs - no need to save your chair early... we were even able to switch locations at pool midday. We drove to the Encore from Colorado. Check in was a bit slow as the girl wanted us to upgrade and wouldn't take No for an answer.. After we got past her everything was wonderful. Only complaint about the hotel was the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom and a convenient place to hang towels , other than that the standard room is more than adequate. Fabulous view either to the North or the South.. I would not stress over getting a room facing the Strip. Eat at Switch.. A real experience and the food is great also. While expensive it is a real value if you go for a set menu that is offered. Service was terrific. Parking was easy and always within 75 yards of the door. With short walk inside the hotel to the elevators. A great experience with slot payout about the same as other strip hotels. Meaning you lose but have fun doing it.
