"Great place to relax."
When we arrived we were warmly greeted and taken to our room. It was very clean and the AC was ice-cold. The bed was very large, a little firm but we like that. Upon wakening we were greeted with a nice surprise, a great view of the ocean! This surprised us because we had not booked an Ocean View room. Right below us was a construction area but nothing […] was going on when we were there and it is easy to look past as you watch the sun go down from the balcony. Make sure you find the steps down to the beach in the back of the hotel, it makes it easier to get down the hill, the road way can be a bit scary because of traffic but completely do-able. The hotel provides a flashlight so that helps get around at night. They do provide a shuttle to the beach it is on time but only runs until 5:30 pm. Staff were great. This hotel does not have any smoking rooms although I reserved a smoking room. The staff's English is limited. When I complained about the smell of my room, they said they didn't have another room available. The pool is nice and there is a swim up bar. Although we could walk down to the beach and to other little shops the hotel is at the top of a steep […] hill, so we had to have a tuk tuk take us back to the hotel which was VERY expensive for a two minute ride. This is a great hotel. Great location, up the hill and away from the chaos but the shuttle service to the beach and town is great. Rooms are big and clean and the views are outstandingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice quiet hotel close to Kata Karon beach"
Very courteous service (main desk staff also have good English skills), great location in a quiet area but close to the Kata Karon beach, and good rooms with strong AC (for those who are taking a while to adjust to the Thai temps). All good. :)Genuine Expedia guest review
Price of hotel was cheap , do not expect a lot of things given the price . However hospitality of thai was there from the service team . Just pleasant . Honeymoon suite jacuzzi has brown water . Did not rectify as I did not dare to use . LOL!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Customer service was unbelievably excellent and prompt when you requested anything, they couldn't do enough for you! Hotel was clean and comfy. It is on a hill and a lot of people don't like this but the hotel does provide free shuttle to and from the beach/shops which is max 5 minutes away. However, if you walk down the hill from the front of the hotel […] it is a lot quicker than the shuttle, but be preapered for jelly legs next day when you walk back up the hill. We had a great stay and would definitley recommend. One negative thing is the restaurant food which we didn't quite like so we were really glad we booked bed and breakfast only, however we did very much enjoy the company of Bonnie and Clyde (the two kittens) every morning for breakfast, please be sure to feed them if you do visit. :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet and restful with the shops and beach nearby."
I booked the honeymoon suite. It's OK but is dark and has poor lighting. It has a spa pool that takes 30 minutes to fill, used it twice so not worth the extra cost. The hotel pool and garden are beautiful and restful. Used the gym almost everyday - not used much and surrounded by garden. Excellent spot to lift some cardio, weights or do yoga. The king […] size bed was on the hard side and there was a water hammer noise in the bathroom. Along with the guard out front blowing his whistle all night, it was sometimes difficult to get an unbroken sleep. Overall, the resort is OK value for money. I liked the location, at the end of the day catch a tuk tuk up the hill for 150 baht (about 5 aud). It's a 60 second ride! Local food is excellent and cheap at about $3 a dish. The location of this resort is not very convenient, I need to take a taxi or tuk-tuk between the center and the hotel, but it didn't bother me as I prefer quiet place. I stayed at the Villa with Jetted Tub, the room size is not that big and the jetted tub is inside the bathroom, instead of the garden outside, little bit disappointed. Staffs are very […] helpful and nice, and speak very good English, no need to worry about the communication. We received the wifi singal from hotel lobby inside the villa but it doesn't a matter becoz I have my own pocket wifi. I will stay there again, but will take honey moon suite next time. "Beautiful pool and views"
Beautiful grounds with an amazing multi-tiered pool area. Front desk staff were friendly, but others were less helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. We were there in low season and really enjoyed the fact that the hotel was quiet. Had the pool to ourselves most days, no queues or rushing at the breakfast buffet - suited us fine. "Good price for a clean, comfortable hotel"
The hotel was clean and the room was big and comfortable. The breakfasts were really good, lots of different types of food and plenty of it. "Eastern Europe in Kata Beach."
This is the second stay at the hotel, overall it is a nice Hotel, beautiful pools and overall service from staff was good. A little disapointed with todays advances, Wi Fi wasn't included as part of the stay. Dissapointed with the breakfast meal, fish rice, padthai, cabbage etc, some of the items up for offer for breakfast. Stayed for 11 nights and […] bacon offered after 9 nights. If you are afer a continental breakfast with bacon, eggs, hash browns, baked beans etc, This will not happen!!!! Air conditioner had only one temperature, (very cold), got maintanance in to check it,nothing changed. Had to get up during every night to turn it off as it got that cold (set at 30 degrees). The staff really try to assist, they appear to be catering more for the Eastern Europe customers, therefore there are not alot of English speaking hotel guests staying at the Hotel. "Peace and tranquility in Spa hotel."
Wonderful friendly and helpful staff, lovely grounds. The location of the hotel on the outskirts of the Kata Beach resort has both good and bad points. The good is that it's away from the noise and bustle of the resort, therefore quiet and tranquil, by about a half-mile. The bad is that half mile is a fairly steep hill, ok going down but on the way […] back you need to be fairly fit. I'm 70 and walked it there and back every night. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus service to and from the beach every day, great! Also it does run once to the resort at 1930 and back at 2200 during the evening. "Beautiful hotel, Beautiful people"
From my arrival, late on a Sunday night (delayed 3 hours by flight problems) the staff were unfailingly friendly, courteous and helpful. My requests were perhaps relatively small and uncomplicated but they never failed to respond. The hotel buildings, gardens, pools and overall layout were gorgeous. It would be hard to fault it but, if I try really […] hard, I can just say that it is very slightly 'frayed around the edges'. The bathroom was very clean and functioned perfectly (very important to me) but the decor showed its age (possibly 10 - 15 years?). The lighting was also fashionably dim - no source of a good, bright light for reading and sewing repairs, for instance. Finally, although the hotel provides an hourly shuttle to the town and beach between 08:00 and 16:30, the hill is long and very steep if you choose or need to walk. So: not completely convenient for the beach, but more than compensated for by the beautiful location, the views over the bay, and the distance from the noisier parts of town. A few couples with children but guests were mostly adults, across the age range (absence of children suited me for relaxation purposes). Above all, though, top marks to the staff - reception, catering, taxi drivers...all of them. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Room Humidity and Lack of Transfer"
The first problem with this hotel is ACs are not working properly as they are very old, so every room is very humid and you cannot sleep well. The second thing is the hotel is up in the hill and the hotel transfer is only in every hour so it is not convinient to go to beach or Kata center and come-back easily. Even tuk-tuks requests 200 baht for transfer […] as they know there is a lack of transfer from hotel. As a recommendation the hotel has to put a permanent golf-car kind-of a transfer for any hotel guest request. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly staff, comfy rooms and tasty food"
06/29/14 Claire A Pretoria, South Africa
The first stop on our two week Thailand tour, the Andaman Cannacia provided a comfortable and pleasant two night stay. Upon checking in, the staff noticed from my passport that it was my birthday, called to wish me and had a fruit basket sent to our room. This kind of personal touch continued for the remainder of the stay. The hotel has a very "homey" feel, where the small staff is attentive and super friendly, without being intrusive. Meals and drinks are affordable, a tad more than you would pay in town, but to be expected from a hotel restaurant. Breakfast is the usual buffet of fruit, pastries, egg and sausage, with the added option of ordering a cooked meal from the kitchen. We avoided the Western menu options (which range from pizza to pasta to burgers and salads) and thoroughly enjoyed the Thai food on offer. Shrimp with noodles, even for breakfast, was delicious! Our room was upgraded free of charge for a room with a sea view. Although it was overcast during our stay, the view was spectacular and the room was large and comfortable. A sunbed on the balcony offered a place to nap with a view, if you're willing to brave the heat, that is! If I had one complaint (although this seems to be a Thai trend), it would be that there wasn't any hot water for showering and bathing. Granted, the tropical conditions are extremely warm, but the creature comforts of a hot shower in an air conditioned room cannot be disregarded. The hotel offered a shuttle service on a schedule into town, to the beach, and to the sister hotels in the group. Return shuttles were only at 10pm, so if you wanted come back earlier, you'd need to make your own way. Tuk tuks, taxis and minibuses are readily available and of course one could hire a motorbike. We took the shuttle in and found the distance back to the hotel completely walkable, if you can manage the uphill in the heat. We didn't make much use of the pool during our stay because of the weather, but it's clean, big and well maintained. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I'd happily check in there again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in 2013 . nice spacious rooms and very nice view from rooms. firstly i had got a normal room which was pool facing bt as i was on my honeymoon, the hotel manager upgraded it to honeymoon suite which was sea facing. Suites are excellent . Great helpful staff. breakfast is good. Had booked local taxi from the hotel for sightseeing and taxi driver Mr Woody , was extremely nice and polite .. nice place for couples to relax ... just one thing it is bit far from the main market and beach area though hotel provides shuttle service to beach... around 10 min uphill walk from main street... overall a nice resort to stay...

More than anything else the first thing i always consider whenever i go for vacation is the hotel. I thought that only 4 or 5 star hotel has satisfaction guaranteed. I had second thought of staying with andaman cannacia. But since my kids are not with me so i say "let me give it a try". To my surprise it exceeds my expectations and i was convinced that when it comes to service, it even exceeds those 5 star international class hotel that ive stayed in the past. The room was excellent The staff are nice, helpful and polite. I can sense that they enjoy what they are doing. The food was great. We stayed 4d3n, each morning and night we entrust our meal to them. Guess what, we are always excited to see their menu and eat their meal. All the staff are excellent, you'll see how cheerful and helpful they are. I would like to commend their management for this. Two staffs that i would like to appreciate, Ms. Joanne and Mr. Thong they are like our encyclopedia, they help me in finding places that i need to go (buying stuff), places that i could visit, even where i could rent motorbike and anything i need to know. Mr. Thong is a local thai but will try his best to answer. Ms. Joanne is a foreigner but can speak good thai can help you to communicate. The place are maintained, secured and clean. By the way it is located in a steep slope area but they have a shuttle service to bring you up and down. Thank you andaman cannacia we had a pleasant stay and we'll see you soon! Keep it up!!
"Good, but could be better"
06/01/14 glc_1983 London, United Kingdom
I'll start off with the good. We had a 2nd floor deluxe room, which had lovely views out over the pool and sea. The rooms are huge, with massive balconies, comfy beds, big bathrooms, loads of storage (a whole dressing room area) and nice big mirrors. The room itself was better than I expected. The pool area is great and on our visit it was always half-empty, meaning you could always get loungers and find a good spot to sunbathe. The hotel is generally very pretty, though a little rough round the edges (don't look down alleyways or behind things). The entrance and reception area is particularly pretty. The location is great in terms of views, but you really do need to be fit to attempt the 'short cut' down the hill. The steps are very steep and though they're fine going down, coming back up in 40 degree heat was a little much for me (good exercise though). It's much easier to time your journeys around the shuttle bus (which was on request during our off-season visit) and then shell out 200 baht for a tuk tuk back up the hill. I've read a lot of complaints about the food, but I didn't think it was too bad. We stayed B&B, and though the breakfast was nothing to write home about there were some safe bets (the freshly made omelettes, for example) and I never went hungry. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, always choosing the thai options, which were generally fine, but not special. The big problem was the service. Though the staff were very polite I felt that they had absolutely no idea what they were doing. The only exception was the reception, where they were generally great. In the restaurant and bar though, I wondered why they even bothered. I never saw a manager or supervisor. Trying to get a soft drink at the pool bar was hilarious as they never seemed to know how much anything cost or where it was kept, and we only attempted it twice (the cokes in the minibar were cheaper anyway). During dinner, we'd basically have to do a dance to get anyone's attention after placing our initial food order (they probably lost out on the price of at least 3 or 4 drinks refills by ignoring us). Maybe because many people stay all inclusive this is their way of keeping costs down?! Just ignore the customers and maybe they'll go away? Eating down in kata beach is both better value and more pleasant. As part of our booking, we got free thai massages at the spa. I wouldn't recommend this unless you enjoy pain. I know thai massages are not meant to be relaxing, but I didn't expect to feel worse afterwards, not better. The therapist to continued to stand on me, hit and pull at me when I was actively shouting "ouch!" at her, and at one point she made me tear up. I wish I'd just walked out at the beginning when she pointed at my stomach and asked me if I was pregnant (I most definitely wasn't).
"Good value for money"
05/19/14 Lorraine S Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
Upgraded from our first room which overlooked an empty block of land to a 3rd floor sea view room for an extra AU$15 per night - definitely money well spent. Both rooms were fine and in fact the bathroom in the cheaper room was much nicer! This was our first time in Thailand, so we had no idea how steep the region is! The climb back up to the hotel from the street was a killer. You definitely made sure that you got everything you needed when you were down there, cos it was not something you did lightly. We used the shuttle a few times, but it didn't always run at times that suited and stopped at about 5pm. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms clean, etc, although the cleaner for our room persisted in using a shorter sheet for the top sheet that only reached halfway down the bed! Bit weird and we had to remake the bed! Breakfast was fine, plenty of variety; pool was nice and clean. All that said though, I'm not sure that I would stay there again. Having been and looked around I think I would aim for somewhere that wasn't quite such a hike!
"Beautiful views let down by poor service"
04/20/14 April M , United Kingdom
We stayed here in February 2014 on an all inclusive basis which we feel the hotel is definitely not set up for. We felt very let down by our operator who marketed this hotel as such. The hotel is set on top of a very steep hill, which for us was not a problem but could be if you were old or suffered poor health. However the hotel do run a regular mini bus service to the town and beach. The hotel is quite small but the pool was lovely with great views and a good pool bar service which however closes at 5.00pm. The problems we encountered were with service. There is no dedicated bar and all drinks have to ordered from the waiters. In the evening we often had to wait forty five minutes for a second drink and on several occasions we gave up and went into town. The food is waiter service and this is picked from a set menu. Service times are very slow and it was not unusual at lunch to wait forty five minutes for food. In the evening on gala nights, which were excellent, it could take the waiters half an hour or longer to clear plates or refresh your drinks. Entertainment is extremely limited, on some night there was nothing, not even background music. Our room was extremely comfortable with a large bed and we slept well, our cleaner Yar kept our room spotless. Overall we had a good holiday, did some great trips and loved Thailand. The hotel is clean and comfortable but I would describe it as a good bed and breakfast and in fact it has subsequently been dropped by our operator as an all inclusive.
"First holiday in Thailand"
04/16/14 Angela C Peterborough, United Kingdom
We have just returned from this hotel and can recommend it with certain conditions. It is set on the side of a hill and there are steps throughout the complex. In addition it is a steep walk down the hill to the shops or beach or many steep steps to negotiate. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the beach and its sister hotels (which can be used by all inclusive guests) however you do need to be fairly active and it could be diffucult for single people or those on a bed and breakfast basis. We were all inclusive and the food is good and plentiful. The staff are brilliant, friendly and they cannot do enough for you. The complex, although a little dated, is well kept, clean and tidy, the swiming pools are lovely, rooms are spacious and air conditioned. The hotel provides evening entertainment on several nights including a traditional Thai evening. Overall we thought it provided good value for money.
"Nice hotel, little bit dated"
03/26/14 megankline Perth, Australia
Not a bad hotel in Phuket. For the price however can get better facilities and rooms elsewhere. The resort is a little dated. No free wifi in the rooms which is a shame, as most other resorts offer this. The pool is nice and large and regularly cleaned. The pool bar with happy hour is good value, but most of the cocktails have sugar syrup which makes them not as nice as could be. The bag in the room with the pool towels is a nice touch, and the service from everyone is very good. Breakfast is OK, but not amazing. Lunch not too bad either. Annoying how everything is ++ with service fees and tax, I just wish everyone would put the price that you have to pay, it would be way easier. The shuttle bus at night time is very useful as it gets you to Kata beach or into south Karon. The taxi mafia that control the taxi's and tuk tuk rides make Phuket a very expensive place if you do not have a scooter. 300 bhat into Karon, 500 bhat into Patong is very steep, considering in Bali you can travel for 45 mins for ~$5. This is the one thing about Phuket that I do not like, meter taxi's are the way to go.
