Our stay at the Hotel Alexander was very brief - overnight. Our room was beautiful, but our view was of a wall. The room had a sliding door opening on a balcony, but the other side of the balcony was the adjoining wall of the hotel. Granted, our room was one of the less expensive ones, but this was a surprise. Not a big deal for the amount of time in […] the room, however. If I were staying more than one night I'd have my room changed. We stayed at Hotel Alexander for 2 nights (July 2010). The location is excellent - easy walk to town and beach. Limone is a beautiful little town with nice shops. The stay at Hotel Alexander includes a very good buffet breakfast. Plenty of different breads, rolls, pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit, cereals, yogurt - you name it! Staff is very helpful […] and friendly and most speak very good English. Rooms are large and modern. Safe & small refrigerators are in rooms. Bathrooms are clean, spacious and also modern. The hotel has a pool, whirlpool and spa (we never used since we didn't have enough time - too busy sightseeing). It has it's own parking garage (no extra fee) which is super convenient. One negative would be that the gym (small but sufficient) closes at 7 pm. For extended stays, I would try to get a lake view room. We didn't but since we were out all day anyway, it didn't matter to us. Very energy efficient too - your room key is placed in a device that turns on your lights. When you leave the room and take the key, the lights will turn off automatically. Even the parking garage has sensors that turn on the lights as you drive into it. Nice lounge area to sit and have drinks/food in the evening. Highly recommend the Hotel Alexander. Read more

We have just returned from a two week break at The Alexander Hotel in Limone. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful especially helping us when we had trouble with our hire car. The hotel is clean and despite being close to the main road is a great place to stay for a relaxing break. We did think that for a 4 star hotel there would have been […] tea and coffee facilities in the room so this is something the hotel could improve on. There was plenty for breakfast although the food was repetative. More fresh fruit and softly fried eggs would have made it perfect. Evening meals were the best we had from the various restaurants we sampled in the resort and the 20% discount to staying guests was very welcome. The pool is not deep or large in size but adequate for cooling off on a sunny day. Make sure you take the tour of the lake trip when you stay as it is an amazing way to see other resorts around the lake. A lovely little hotel with superb staff that is well worth a visit. Read more

Hotel Alexander was a lovely hotel - very clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful. The only down side was how far it was from the airport. We spent a gruelling three hours on public transport to get to the hotel once we arrived which took the edge off our stay a bit.

I decided to book this hotel due to the many good reviews for this hotel – I think I must have stayed at a different place! No air conditioning even though they advertise they have it – apparently they don’t turn it on until the middle of June – absolutely ridiculous! Therefore the room was like a furnace at night, the main thing you want to do in a […] hotel room is sleep and we couldn’t due to the extreme temperatures. Whatever you do, DO NOT eat in Al Pirata unless you are Italian! The staff were rude and couldn’t be bothered to serve us, I had to get our own salt pepper etc even though couple around us got a basket full of bread olive oil etc. we didn’t get any of this. If you are sensible eat in one of the many better restaurants in the town. The hotel has a great spa – not that you would know as no one told us anything about it, we found it but had no idea how to get to the pool side from there. Overall if you haven’t already booked this hotel don’t – find a better one. In no way is a it a good 3 star let alone 4! They are having an absolute joke! The day we checked out it was pouring with rain, a true 4 star hotel would have given us a transfer to the port in town – as other 4 star hotels did in the area. They could offer this service for minimal cost but would make a huge difference as it is quite a walk with suitcases in the rain! Read more

We stayed at this hotel 2 days during our trip in Italy. The location is good, it's just 2 minutes walk from the promenade, and from the boats where you can take trip to Malcesine. The room was very nice, big and clean. The bathroom was excellent. The only thing that our room actually didn't have a lake view (we booked a lake view) because of the trees. […] these rooms are standart if you wish to live in the higher floors then you must book superior and it's more expensive. We had a big terrase together with other rooms and with a swimming pool. It's good in april, but in summer it can be a little bit noisy. We stayed here in August 2011. We had a family room which was a good size with two pull out sofa beds for the children (ages 8 & 6), unfortunately we did have a problem with a few persistant ants in the bathroom area but the room was spacious and we the view from our room was breathtaking. The spa area of the hotel was perfect for half an hours peace […] and tranquility whilst the pool was more of a cool off dip in. However the lake was a 2 minute stroll down some steps and we all enjoyed a swim and pedalo ride here. The town of Limone was a 10 minute walk from the hotel and was perfect for an evening meal and stroll around a few shops. During the daytime we also got boats from here to Malcescine and Riva, which were both worth a visit. Read more

We booked a standard room, which turned out to be no more than a Motel chalet in essence, it is like an offshoot of the main hotel and is in no way hotel like. There is no view of lake garda from a normal room, you have to upgrade but as the hotel was full theer was no option for this. Breakfast was more erring toward sthe German market which it appears is the bulk of the guests, but this wasnt too bad and edible, oh but you do have to pay extra for an espresso on a morning, in italy, i mean the nerve of it!!! Booked this hotel because it is a relatively modern hotel with a view of the lake. The room we had was very clean and reasonably spacious however there are no tea/coffee making facilities, ironing board etc. in the room. Breakfast is rather basic and you have to pay for cappucino or expresso or settle for instant coffee (in Italy!) as part of the breakfast […] package. We booked a superior room and although we expected at least a side lake view (due to the way the hotel is built) there was hardly any view (we were on the second floor). We were also given a twin room despite requesting a double. However our main gripe was the rude receptionist who showed no interest in trying to resolve the issue about our booking. She claimed a double room in Italian means a twin room - but this was not our experience in other hotels where we have stayed in Italy. The hotel did not honour any of the requests we had made via Expedia. They just said they were fully booked and allocated to us what was available. Customer care is truely lacking and it marred our visit to Lake Garda. Not clear how the hotel achieved 4 star status at it seems to do things on the cheap. We definately won't be going back! There are not many places we have stayed at that have cleaned so well and made us feel like we are being really well cared for. We visited the Pirata Restaurant which is part of the hotel (guests and non guests can eat there). The food and service was extremely good, and we would recommend people/families visit there. Breakfast was also in the Pirata Restaurant, and consisted of cheeses, cold cuts of meats, croissants, pastries, breads, cereals, fruits and yogurts - all very nice. The majority of other Hotels, apart from those in Limone, are situated a fair walk up 'caridac' hill. The hotel was superb and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant ajoined to the hotel El Pirate offers an excellent service […] and is run very efficiently and courteously. The majority of holiday makers in Limone are German so it was a strange experience being the person not speaking the 2 main languages (Italian and German). Saying that the people we met were more than happy to speak English and appreciated the small pieces of Italian that we learnt whilst we were out there. I would recommend this Hotel and area to all my friedns and family. It is worth hiring a car as you can travel around the lake, rather than go about on boat. The Hotel has underground parking. We spent the few dollars more for the "Superior" double room and I am glad we did. We had a view of the lake, although it was not an exceptional view. There are many double rooms that have no view of the lake and I am sure if we had not reserved the "superior" double room we would have no view of the lake. The hotel is at an exceptional location for […] Limone sul Garda because you are only a 10 minute walk from the beautiful shops on the beach and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. We felt lucky to be so close to the beach and the town compared to the majority of the hotels in Limone sul Garda. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The air conditioning was fair. It was not an extremely hot day so we were comfortable. You could not get the temperature below 20C. So it may be uncomfortable on a really hot day. Read more

It takes less than five minutes to walk to the beach and other local restaurants, and theret is ample parking in the underground parking area for guests. Sheets are changed daily, which is nice. Unfortunately, no room service or mini bar but there is a fridge which is handy. The swimming pool is a decent size, the usual sun bed hoggers around (reserved with a towel, but vacant for hours) so if you arrive for sunbathing in the afternoon it can be difficult to get a spot. Vi hadde et veldig hyggelig opphold på Hotel Alexander. Kort vei til Gardasjøen og byens sentrum. Rommene er store og luftige, og gir en følelse av stor plass. Frokosten kunne vært bedre, og det burde ikke være tomme fat på buffeten når man kommer til frokost 30 min før avslutningstidspunktet. Leider war der versprochene Seeblick nicht vorhanden, dafür schauten wir auf die Wand. Das war sehr dunkel, da kaum Tageslicht in das Zimmer fiel. Min kone og jeg havde en skønt ophold på Hotel Alexander. Spiste på hotellets restaurant, hvor man som gæst for 25% på købet. Vores værelse lå desværre i det fjerneste hjørne, så ikke meget udsigt, med mindre vi stod på en stol. Men hotellet ligger utroligt godt meget centralt og flotte omgivelser. Venligt personale som snakker tysk og engelsk.

Neubau ohne jeglichen Charme. Retortenbau an den sich keinerlei Geschmack hin verirrt hat. Bereits nach 2 Jahren deutliche Mängel am Gebäude. Alles völlig lieblos. Ich bin zwar auch in Hotels zuweilen irritiert über den Geschmack bei Bildern an der Wand - nur überhaupt keine Wanddekoration ist auch keine Lösung. Zumal alles Architektonische wirkte wie […] gewollt und nicht gekonnt. Internet funktionierte selten, hat auch vom Personal niemanden gestört. Zimmerreiningung kam wann Sie wollte - auch wenn man um 9:00 noch im Bett lag (keine Schilder für die Klinken im ganzen Haus). Frühstück Katastrophe - nur vom Billigsten. Im Restaurant nach einem "Essversuch" keinen Weiteren unternommen. Urlaub war trotzdem o.k. aber wegen dem Gardasee, dem Wetter und weil man sich die Laune halt auch nicht verderben lasen sollte. Im Doppelzimmer sind die Betten nur lose aneinandergeschoben, was wir als nicht angenehm empfanden, zumal sich die Betten bei der kleinsten Bewegung "verselbständigen". Frühstück nur bis 10:00 ist eindeutig zu kurz, ebenso das Auschecken um 10:00 ist in meinen Augen mehr Nepp und dieses Hotels unwürdig. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Hotel Alexander ,von unserem Balkon direkter Blick auf den See,die Sauberkeit des Hotels 1a ,das einzige was uns nicht so gut gefallen hat , war das Frühstück , Instantkaffee und nur Toast wie dröge Paninis ,jeden Tag der gleiche Käse wie Wurst ,da hätten wir uns schon etwas mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Etwas unglücklich […] ist der Fitnessraum der im unteren Teil des Hauses und im Teilbereich des Restaurants gelegen ist , die Auswahl der Geräte mager ,ebenso die eingeschränkte Zeit in der man die Sauna und den Fitnessraum nutzen kann. Das Restaurant in diesem Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert ,hervorragende Zubereitung des Rinderfilets und geniale Pizzen ,und freundliches Personal ,sollten wir wieder an den Gardasee fahren würden wir wieder dieses Hotel wählen ,es fehlte nur im Rezeptionsbereich an persönlicher Note , tägliche aufmerksame Begrüßung hätten den Aufenthalt abgerundet, Read more

Das Hotel liegt zwar direkt an der Durchgangsstraße Richtung Zentrum, dennoch keine Lärmbelästigung. Unser Zimmer lag ca. 2 m vor dem Pool, sodaß wir durch "Frühschwimmer" meist geweckt wurden. Zimmer hatte keinen Balkon, Sitzmöglichkeit war vor dem Zimmer zwar vorhanden, jedoch sitzt man auch hier direkt am Pool. Bei diesen Zimmern hat man auch keine […] Sicht auf den Gardasee. das Bad ist leider gleich direkt im Zimmer integriert, und somit nicht durch eine Tür abgetrennt. Einzig und allein das WC ist durch eine Tür vom restlichen Zimmer abgetrennt. Uns hat das allerdings nicht wirklich gestört. Ansonsten war es wirklich ein sehr sauberes Hotel, mit tollem Ausblick auf den See. Wir waren, bis auf Kleinigkeiten, zufrieden. Die Dusche ist räumlich nicht vom Zimmer abgetrennt, was etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war. Das Zimmer ist groß und durchaus wohnlich. Die Zeiten für Sauna und Fitnesszentrum waren nicht gut ( 15. - 19.00 Uhr), da ist man bei guter Witterung unterwegs! Das Frühstück war bis auf das angebotene Graubrot gut. Es […] gab sogar Prosecco! das Graubrot aber war eine einzige Katastrophe, hart und ungenießbar. Auch auf Beschwerde wurde nichts geändert. Alles in allem aber war es eine rund Sache! Positiv zu vermerken war der kostenlose Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage, was am Gardasee nicht selbstverständlich ist. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Read more
