"Very comfortable at great price"
I recently stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The room was large and well appointed. I thought the bed was particularly comfortable. terrific sheets and wonderful down pillows, lot of them. the location is perfect for someone going for business as it is in the middle of everything. I also discovered that the best Sushi restaurant in Santiago is in the […] hotel. Do not miss it- beautiful and delicious. A couple of tricks. they charge $10 per day for internet, but if you become a member of their club, for free, it is free. good deal. the gym is perfectly adequate as well. My one complaint is that in the restaurant they only serve a $30 breakfast buffet. they should offer a regular breakfast menu as well to accommodate lighter eaters. Bu all in all, first rate. Response by InterContinental Santiago Dear guest Thank you for taking your valuable time to comment about your stay. We appreciate your kind words about our comfortable rooms, location and the restaurant. Your opinion and idea of having a normal breakfast instead of a buffet will be fowarded to the staff of the restaurants. We thank you for staying in our hotel, and we hope to see you soon. "Outdated rooms, bathrooms and beds."
The lobby of the hotel is impressive and the front desk folks are ok, they also have a nice restaurant which is pricey--all this is completely different from the rooms. The furniture in the rooms are old; the beds are at least 10 years old and sagging--very unconfortable; the bathrooms are also very old and has not been updated for many years; the towels […] available in the bathrooms are beyond its life. Having said that, the house keepers do a good job keeping the place clean. The issue here is that management or owners are not investing to keep the place up to date. Just to be clear, I've been traveling to Santiago for the last 10 years and use to stay at this hotel until one day five years ago when they ran out of hot water at 8 am. For this trip I decided to try it again as a but but again, what a disapointment. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Newer side is very nice and up to date but the older tower is showing some wear and tear. Excellent experience -- great breakfasts included -- stayed an extra night at end of three nights on a tour. Many restaurants near the hotel. Only negative was ongoing construction in front of the hotel. Otherwise excellent hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"5 star lobby 3 star room"
5 star lobby- 3 star room AC didn't work- according to maintenance it was working however the room was 80 degree all night. (summer night) Internet didn't work on the 12th floor. I travel to Santiago several times a year on business never stayed at Intercontinental until now- Never will again. Within blocks there are many truly 5 star hotels.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel,...too bad they charge for everything!"
Beware that you have to pay extra for Brkft., internet, even the gym.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After a horrible initial apartment experience, we decided to immediately check out and booked Intercontinental on the spot. And what a difference that made! Nice spacious rooms, nice breakfast, and usually quiet pool upstairs. One downfall: the wireless only works in a newer tower which we moved to after a nice stay in the older one. The concierge offered […] us a free breakfast for our efforts. I suggest the stroll in the El Golf as well. Great restaurants in the vicinity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not for business traveler - Poor internet"
Really poor internet service in rooms especially at $20 per day. Rooms were clean, Gym is small, poor service at breakfast and cafe in lobby is rarely staffed. I had to help myself to a sandwich and drink. Will stay in the W in Santiago from now onGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible corporate experience in a faraway place!"
Checked in from a long drive. They put us in one of the back rooms. The Internet ($10) didn't reach and we couldn't get a connection. The room had not been cleaned. Parking was exhorbitantly expensive. In addition, the underground parking was dark, dank, and terrifying. The main, grand lobby looked great until you got in your room. The fetor from the […] corridors in the back of the hotel were dizzying. The place is located in the middle of nowhere between Providencia (where many things are) and Las Condes (where the crypto-Pinochet loyalists are). It's an American business hotel, but it doesn't really cater to anyone. And it's expensive. As soon as we got there we immediately switched to Le Reve in Providencia (a 5* hotel worth every penny). Do NOT stay in this place at these prices unless you like the corporate experinece -- and done badly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Loved the Intercontinental in Santiago. Definitely will stay there in my next visit to Santiago. I recommend it. The hotel is also located in a great area of Santiago. It is wonderful to take a leisure walk around the hotel. The surroundings are clean and the neighborhood is one of the best in Santiago. "Great location. Disappointing rooms."
The hotel has great location. The rooms need better maintenance -old / dirty carpet and bed sheets. After our first night, we had to change rooms because of honeymooners next door making lots of noise - you could hear everything they were doing / talking. Everything was OK after 2nd night.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good but should be better"
This hotel is almost next door to the Holiday Inn Express, which for a bit less money offers more value, including breakfast and internet, which at the Intercontinental are $35 and $20/day, respectively. Larger rooms, but not really much fancier. Nicer/bigger lobby that give you meeting space, vs. the Holiday Inn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Big rooms & Great salads"
Service and standards seemed to have dropped since last time I stayed. Check in staff and concierge were very good. I still like the big rooms, and the two restaurants are pretty good. Room service salads were delicious. However, the showers leak water all over the bathroom floor, the toilets don't flush too well, and the housekeeping was not up to […] scratch. I found a dirty floor rag left in my room and products were not re-stocked in bathroom. Food at breakfast buffet was also not re-placed/refreshed efficiently. I came for breakfast at 9am and there wasn't much there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No free Wi Fi or water"
I think for the price of the room, the hotel would include free Wi Fi & complimentary water, but we had to pay for both of these. Did not really expect that from the Intercontinental brand. Will be staying in a hotel that offers these as standard next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent room size, but watch out for extra costs"
This hotel is quite decent but as some other reviews say the fittings are not the newest - there was a good separate shower, but a small "sit up and beg" bath and the plug leaked badly [I had them replace it]. If you are not a Priority Club member they charge for WiFi. They also charge for the gym - both of which I consider a bit much considering the […] rooms are not cheap & most places don't charge on top. The breakfast was fine, but I actually preferred the breakfast in the Marriott down the road which I stayed in twice before. Here the tea water was too cold for example, with no milk jugs so I had to use the cereal milk in a large glass & there was more cold things and a less pleasing selection of fruit. "Friendly and efficient, reasonable location"
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. My room was larger than expected with a double aspect as it was in the corner. It was also very quiet. The hotel rooms are in 3 towers and I think the rooms might be smaller in the older tower, but I did not have this problem. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel is in the […] business area but within 15-20 minutes walking distance of the downtown shops - it is quicker to walk because of the eternal traffic. Just round the corner from the hotel is a good choice of restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent intercontinental hotel"
An excellent experience with very helpful staff. The roadworks out the front were a pain but did not cause any issues when you got inside. Great location, very close to two major shopping centers that have really upmarket brands. I would deffinately return. Thank you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location, Bad Hotel"
There is two hotel towers. The newer ones seemed ok, but the main block where my room was located was bad. Air Conditioning barely worked, carpet was old and muggy, staff was unattentive (except at the restaurant, they were great). Hotel is very conveniently located but I think the Holiday Inn which is right next door is a sensible alternative. Would […] NOT recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"InterContinental - Executivo - Santiago"
Quem quisesse, no entanto, poderia tomar o café no salão do hotel central. Ao pedirmos para a moça da recepção confirmar nossa pasasgem com a cia aérea, essa não teve nenhum empenho e respondeu que não conseguira. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This is probably one of the best hostels in Santiago but lacks a little something that I can't quite put my finger on. It lacks a little something but hits a solid 80% in my opinion. Food and beverages are very good and service is excellent. I would highly recommend staying here
"Good location and service"

Very good hotel located in an amazing location, pretty close of many restaurants and one of the best Malls of the city: the Costanera Center. The rooms have a good size and the service is outstanding. The price is a little bit high, but depends when and how you make the reservation.
"Excellent hotel in a good location"
Upon arrival in the hotel we had our room upgraded. The room had a nice view of the downtown area. The location is in walking distance of several excellent restauraunts and malls. The staff are very helpful to answer any questions or provide assistance. Our stay here was during my third visit to Santiago and my first in this hotel. I will make it my new regular for trips to Santiago.
"Good but could be better"
01/12/15 CaracasCorrespondent Lima, Peru
I just stayed at the InterContinental for five nights. I had stayed there the last time on my last trip to Santiago. I like the neighborhood - lots of restaurants, and the Metro is not too far away. On the plus side: the receptionist gave me a corner room with nice views, the room itself was ample, the staff was pleasant and the 18th floor gym was decent. But here's what was missing: Why not have a pitcher of ice cold water with lemons or orange slices inside for when guests enter the lobby after being in the hot sun? Why do I get a new towel each day when I laid my towel on the side of the bathroom, indicating that I'm happy to use it another day and avoid unnecessary washing? Hot water during my shower didn't appear for five minutes, or just about when I was going to finish. I lost Wi-fi for an hour one morning - otherwise it was good.
"Great location. Tower rooms very nice."
01/05/15 MBingham1960 Athens, Greece
We stayed for six nights during late December. We requested a quiet room and the hotel did their best to accommodate our request. Room within newer tower block was big, clean, and comfortable although noise level from outside traffic higher than expected. Check in staff not very friendly but all others were, especially Francisco the porter. Use of well equipped gym in older part of hotel and we visited Japanese and Italian restaurants; both good. Bar area in older part of hotel would benefit from modernizing. Breakfast provided in the Club lounge was good with friendly multi-lingual staff. Underground parking useful but quite expensive. Good wi-fi connectivity. Hotel very well located for a wide selection of restaurants, especially on Isidora Goyenechea.
"Great Place to Stay in Santiago"

We stayed here as part of our Princess Cruise Package so wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised, the hotel is very nice and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and be helpful. Our room was very clean, nice with a sitting area and a great view. Breakfast was included in the package and it too is very well done with excellent service. The hotel is in the financial area so you are a ways from the downtown area but it is well worth it. There are many restaurants within walking distance, even two Starbucks which was a bonus for a heavy coffee drinker. Would highly recommend this hotel!
"A Great Stay!"

We had four days here just before Christmas 2014. We stayed in the new tower and like others we also benefitted from the personal and highly professional care of concierges Roberto and Juan. Great rooms, and a lovely Club lounge with a really friendly and helpful hostess. We really enjoyed our stay here, and our enjoyment was enhanced by the friendly and caring attitude of all the hotel staff we came into contact with. An 11/10 stay!

Concierges Roberto and Juan have been very helpful. Made our away trips interesting and well planned. Club lounge very good for breakfast and evening snacks. The only deficiencies in the hotel are the strange facts that: 1. There are no towels available pool-side 2, There are no plugs for the sinks in the bathrooms of the suites. (For the hotel management this is a costly design failure)

We had two separate one night stays at this hotel during a week in October, '14, both nights booked with points. The hotel is conveniently located in the Santiago New Financial District, not too far away from a subway station. The city tours Touristik bus has a stop across a street from the hotel. If you are like me and visit Starbucks Coffee shops at every city you travel to there's one right across the street from the hotel entrance. I am a Platinum Ambassador with IHG and we got a room upgrade on both nights. On the second night we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite that featured two bathrooms, one of them with a jacuzzi. During our stay we received a complimentary breakfast and a Concierge Lounge access. The selection of food was very good. You could have a breakfast in the lounge or at a restaurant in another tower. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were on our way to the Easter Island, returning back to the same hotel on the way back, and didn't want to take a full suitcase with us. The hotel stored it for us for the three days that we were away, which was really nice of them. We had a problem with a car service to go to the airport on the way back to the US. The concierge (I can't remember his name unfortunately) spent quite some time on the phone to straighten this out. Since not too many people speak English in Santiago and we don't speak Spanish except for a few words and sentences his help was greatly appreciated. The best way to explore Santiago is to buy Hop on Hop off city tour with Touristik right at the front desk of the hotel. But be prepared to pay cash for these tickets at the hotel. There are many day trip options available as well from Touristik that you can also get right at the front desk. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Due to an interuption with our out going flight from Santiago to Australia, we were provided accommodation for the evening at this hotel. We arrived in the early hours of the morning (about 2am, after waiting several hours at the airport for instruction and transport) & we were all looking forward to a warm shower and a comfortable bed. We were accommodated in the older part of the hotel, which was fine. Very clean and tidy. The Reception greeting was standard. I believe the journey from the airport to hotel may have been at least 30 minutes... The big plus side for this hotel was the amazing buffet spread it offered in the morning. As we had not had an evening meal the night before, the selection for a good start to the day was welcomed and enjoyed. Overall, a very nice hotel. I believe the "newer" side of the hotel is rather spectacular. Perhaps, one day, I'll head back to Santiago and choose to stay at The Intercontinental.
