As expected it took way to long for the food and when we did receive it they forgot my fiancé's order. The food was good though. And finally at check out. The pool cards were left in the room. I was told it would cost $20 each. Which I understand it is there policy. The only problem was that my Expedia bus to the airport was waiting but he didn't care or offer to send a ride as my room was pretty far from the lobby. I would of took the trolley but the next one was 10 minutes. I didn't have 10 minutes.By the time I got to the room and back I was drenched in sweat and the Expedia representative was by my side at the counter in protest for me. I mean he could of sent a ride for me. All in all it was a great trip with a few setbacks. Oh and watch out for the people trying to tell you stuff. A firm no and they will leave you alone. I just had a great time with my family- Bavaro Princess in All suites hotel - rooms are nice and big and clean. We stayed at the Platinum Club - so right by the beach. Our rooms had Jacuzzi right in the bedroom, big private terraces.. Beach was clean and well maintained - lots of son and lots of shades- umbrellas. Ocean was warm. There were no drinks […] or snack service on the beach...Pool - nice and big with lots of activities around it : music,dance, competitions, zumba, water-aerobics... At the restaurants Food was abundant but not really delicious...drinks were just full of sugar.. Mostly the same food selection at all the restaurants and the same choices of food. FANTASTIC, AMAZING AND SO PROFESSIONAL SHOW every evening but after 12:a.m. there was nothing to do, and it was very boring Wifi is NOT avalible in perfered club, you must pay extra money and wait up to 3 days just to connect to internet in your room. Service is good, however very hard to communicate with staff because no one understand any english. The resort is so beautiful however it is way too big. We stayed in a Platinum suite for 10 nights, Nov 16-26. The hotel is huge but very well kept. Platinum rooms, beach, and entertaiment are the best features. Food selection is great but nothing tastes good (they even managed to spoil lobsters at a specialty seafood restaurant!) My only complaint is that Eddy, the guy who checked us into the resort, didn't explain how things worked there very well. He told us we needed reservations for the restaurants, which we didn't as long as we had a little card they give you. He didn't explain the restaurant card. He didn't warn us that there was a dress code for dinner. Moreover, he forgot […] the little extras that came with the honeymoon suite (couples massage coupon, fruit basket, a small bottle of rum, and a romantic dinner). I later had to call and ask for it and I had to speak with 4 different people and get really upset before it was fixed. He didn't explain that beach towels were turned in for cards which could be redeemed later for clean beach towels. I know this sounds like a lot of things but it was one bad employee. Everyone else was super nice and helpful. The rest of the employees acted as if they wanted to do the little extras for you. If you wanted something they would find it or take you to it. I enjoyed staying at Bavaro Princess. It was in a good location, and the beach was clean and beautiful. I took a walk down the beach a couple of resorts down and the water near other resorts had a lot of seaweed, when Bavaro Princess didn't. It is a nice place and everyone is very nice. For example, at their Italian restaurant, I order spaghetti and meatballs, and the sauce tasted just like ketchup mixed with something. If they were to make more authentic DR food I would be more pleased. I went on a Safari Excursion, and it included food, that day the food was amazing, they made authentic Dominican rice and beans and platanos. We stayed in Platinum level but don't see much benefit. The rooms are absolutely the same. These are NOT suites. These are regular rooms with one step up for your "bedroom" and then the first part is "another room". The bathroom is tiny. So in any respect these are not suites. Platinum basically gives you a chance to go to the private beach which is […] next to the regular beach - just the beds are better. It also gives you a chance to go to other properties but if you have kids - you only can go to one other princess hotel. However other hotel has better restuarants. This hotel is definately trying to save money on food. The breakfast is over at 10 in the morning and then you have to wait till 12.30 if you want to eat again. Ofcourse you can eat on the beach but it is hamburgers and french fries. The buffet is very poor selection and if you come toward the end of breakfast - they don't refill food. We were trying to exercise in the morning so by the time we come for breakfast - just leftovers. Lunch is the same way - extremly crowded since it is one buffet. Needless to say that all resutarants with NO AC. Another thing is very disspointing, that they let the locals on the weekends - to fill in the empty rooms. And then it really gets crowded in the restuarnats. We paid so much to stay ther but then don't even know who is around us. Nothing to do if it is raining. Nothing is done with kids either. Do book but only for the platinum option which I regret not doing, WIFI is not free and the pools close at 7pm not typical for DR hotels. The beach is good and the palm trees are awesome. The check in was fast but not very informational. No one told us about the dinner reservation fiasco. So when we tried to make reservations they said all of the restaurants were full and you were not able to make reservations in advance but after Wednesday we didn't need reservations anymore (We visited concierge Tuesday). Meanwhile we got a note under […] our door explaining that after Friday you did not need reservations. It all worked out and there was plenty of food everywhere but it was very frustrating. Our first room had hair all over it and didn't look clean so we changed rooms. The second one was better. Also, the rooms are pretty far from the lobby but they do have a shuttle that will take you back and forth. The dinner shuttles are packed so if you have reservations leave early for the shuttle. It took us 4 shuttles before we could get to our dinner. After that the vacation was better. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. The food was average. The beach was gorgeous! The lobby bar or the bars outside the resort are where the night life is. Try Steve's or Mangoo. The Casino/disco is nothing to write home about. I will say my boyfriend and I got a couples massage and it was one of the best massages I have ever had! Overall we had a very relaxing vacation but I don't know if I would stay at this hotel again. Doing research we decided on this hotel and upgraded to the "platinum suite" (worth every penny). when we arrived we were taken to the platinum lobby. The concierge (Marghrita) had everything ready for us in package (map of the resort, massage comps, dinner reservation for our last night and suite key). The concierge made reservations for us for a different […] restaurant each night. The lobby has a lounge you can make yourself coffee, or a drink while you're waiting. Our suite was a 2 minute walk from the lobby and a 2 minute to the pool and beach. Our suite was beautiful, cleaned every day (sometimes twice a day). Platinum members included a sectioned off beach area with a bar (good if you don't want the locals to keep asking you to buy their things etc) The staff were all friendly. The buffet was ok. The dinner on the beach was beautiful and the dinner at Licey was delicious. Entertainment at night was fun (a lot of families) also, something was going on every night. Tipping goes a long way!! At least half of the workers in the restraunts are rude and did everything they can to make us feel unwelcomed. Don't expect to come to this resort and get a good dining experience. They had one buffet open all the time while the food was not bad the people working there were rude and unwelcoming. When we decided on day 2 to go to one of 2 open restraunts one was booked for a wedding and the other was maxed out to full capacity for the night. So we had to once again go back to buffet. On another attempt the next day to get into a restraunt which opens at 6:30 pm we showed up at 7 pm and were told there is a little wait. We waited until 10pm after which the restraunt was closing even though we were let in it took another 45 minutes to get our food.( which was great because we were starving by that point). The overall dining experience at this resort and daily rudeness from the workers made us regret coming to this resort. In addition we heard almost on daily bases other tourists expressing their dissatisfaction with the service and overall experience. We will never come to this resort again. Read more

My husband and I stayed at this resort in a Platinum suite May 5-12. Overall we had a positive experience and I think getting the platinum package was worth it. The beach was beautiful, white sand, clear waters with very comfortable long chairs in the platinum section. In general, the water was clear, with very few seaweeds. In the first three days the beach was very crowded and at 8:30-9:00 am no chairs were available in the platinum section under the umbrellas. The platinum suite was nicely decorated, clean, and very spacious. The bathroom was very big, with shower and toilet, two sinks, and a jacuzzi. Nice ceramic tile on the floor. We had mixed experiences with the staff. On one hand, some of the staff such as the receptionists at the platinum lounge, were rather rude not even saying "hello" and "how are you" when we arrived and whenever. Smiling was definitely not their thing. On the other hand, the waiters in the main lobby buffet were very nice and efficient, clearing the tables right away. The housekeepers were very good and efficient; they got us fresh towels twice a day! The entertainment team "Show time" was fantastic. Great shows every night at 9:30. Read more

This hotel is set in a sprawling compound. The advantage is that you won't feel like you are stacked on each other and it is usually very quiet. However, everything is a long walk or a tram ride and you may need a GPS to find your unit. Overall, the grounds were beautifully maintained and serene. You can walk for 2 miles along the surf in any direction and it is usually busy with other people.
