"Historic, yes, but not for an overnight stay."
It's a charming little inn from the outside, no doubt about it. However, the accommodations were sub par - creaky wood floors that managed to sound out the inn's name every time you walked across them ("queeecheeee"), mismatched furniture and a tiny TV from another generation. It is an outdated facility with zero ventilation - in fact I didn't even […] shower there because it was just too dank. While I appreciate that it's an historic site, the rooms shouldn't feel that way, especially since we paid more for this room than we paid for a 4 star hotel in Montreal the night before. On the positive side, the morning breakfast was great and our server was very attentive and helpful. The location was great for a bucolic getaway from the rest of the world (meaning there's NOTHING around you) but next time we will stay in Woodstock, which is just up the road and a beautiful spot with lots of great eateries, shopping and beautiful inns. Location is lovely. Staff is very friendly. breakfast buffet was lacking. No bananas!! It was mid October and the temperature was in the 80's. Comfortable, charming, clean, beautiful setting, good breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Quaint old inn, but needed some maintenance. Shower pressure was very bad in morning. Breakfast was complete and the potatoes were great; nice that it was included. Would have liked to stay more than one night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was wonderful. The hotel was very clean, and all of the staff were very helpful. The meals I had tasted great. It was set in a beautiful location. The only thing that could have been better was the wifi signal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was fairly comfortable. Bathroom was not very private. The toilet and shower were behind closed doors in a fairly tight spot and the sink and mirror were opened to the bedroom. We had mixed company which prevented privacy to get dressed. Thought that we would have a more personalized breakfast for the price and for such a historic B&B. Food was fair. […] No one was around at 10 pm after we came back from dinner and the doors were locked. We tried 3 doors, including the one closest to our room. They did not tell us the day we arrived that we should only use the front door and how to access the lock. Lace on one of the beds was ripped and the wooden floor was dusty. Probably would not return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful Country Getaway"
My wife and I stayed here with our 20-month old toddler and her parents and sister and had a great stay. The lobby is very warm and inviting and looks like a great place to sit by a fire and relax in colder months. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. We only stayed since we were headed east to Maine for the rest […] of our road trip but are definitely looking forward to visiting again during the Fall as the grounds were beautiful and will probably be even more so while the leaves are changing! Rooms were 2 downstairs rooms right off the dining area, were very large with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"An Inn for All Seasons"
What a lovely place for a getaway! The staff was friendly and professional, helping us with all our needs. It is a great central location to the surrounding area attractions. The history of the inn made it enjoyable and the breakfast every morning was the best. I would highly reccomend a stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Adorable bed and breakfast"
My boyfriend and I were eager for a romantic and low key get away, and The Quechee Inn was perfect. Our room was upgraded upon arrival and it was clean, comfy and cozy! The location is also ideal, as it's near all of the adorable galleries, restaurants and markets in Quechee, and is also very close to the lakes and river. The location was also ideal […] for visiting Woodstock, which is another charming and beautiful area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Could use updating"
While the staff was helpful, the rooms were a bit tired. We request a different room than the first assigned, as the furnishings were extremely used in appearance. The second room was somewhat better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming historical inn"
Our room was large and attractive, and the location was fine. Food was just okay. Lots of recreational opportunities, though we were just spending the night. Flood light out front shone directly on our translucent blinds, making us wish for room-darkening shades. Ironic for a country inn.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beware the no refund/ no change policy"
I like to support the local mom and pop inns rather than local chains. The mom and pop inns tend to have a genuine warmth that adds to the hotel experience. The Quechee is not one of those places. The no refund/ no change policy should have been a red flag. I booked a one night stay for the the wrong day and tried to change it with the Quechee through […] Expedia. The Quechee said no and were rude and belligerent to Expedia, me, and especially my young daughter. The day time desk person and general manager repeatedly said they are in the business to make money not service customer mistakes. In fact, on top of a 1 day fee, the options they provided were 1-Don't show up and lose 1 day (already paid) or 2- Book the correct time but with a 3 night minimum. So my options were lose a little bit of money or lose alot of money. Hmmm... hard choice. There are many other options for local inns and chain hotels that can provide a much better customer relations experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No air conditioning"
As described on the Hotels.com page this was a hotel with 25 air conditioned hotel rooms. When we arrived we found that our room did not actually have air conditioning. When we went back to the front desk we were told with irritation to open a window. I have called hotels.com and they were wonderful and are going high up in their corporation to address […] the issue of the description of the rooms not being accurate. The experience was great over all. Rick SUPERB! Room clean and fresh. Restaurant was excellent! The walk ways were a bit tired and could have use a vacuum. We enjoyed our one night stay immensely. The room was comfortable and the entire inn was beautiful. We took a walk around the ground in the morning before the complimentary breakfast. "Excellent in every way! Stay here!"
Wow! That is still my first thought as I think of a review. Stayed here only one night for business (wish it were more!), and chose this place because of proximity to where I needed to be the next morning, and the excellent rate (off-season). When I arrived, they were in the middle of their dinner, which smelled delicious, though I had already eaten. […] Then as I was checking in, they explained that there were plenty of rooms available so they upgraded me to a suite! This turned out to be a decent sized bedroom with a queen bed, a living or sitting room area, a small hallway between, and a spacious bathroom. Newly renovated, it was exquisite! The old, original exposed beams in this 1794 farmhouse were still showing, and most of the doors were old, weathered barn board. Both the living room (with a fold-out couch) and the bedroom had large flat screen TV's. The sitting room had the perfect wing-back chair with a floor lamp beside it for reading a good book, and there was a mini fridge as well (no microwave though, so one small strike!). The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and perfect. There is not much to say other than I wish I could have stayed longer, and I will definitely be back. P.S. if you can wait until 8 AM, there is a full hot breakfast included with the room and worth it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for a romantic getaway"
My wife and I stayed at the Quechee Inn over the weekend. The hotel is located on a farm overlooking a small lake. If you have an appreciation for nature and need a romantic getaway a few hours from the city, this is the perfect place to be.Genuine Expedia guest review
The rooms are decorated beautifully, the hotel has a lovely 2nd story porch with rocking chairs for guests to use, and the included breakfast surpassed expectations.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful grounds and historic building, nice stay"
Highly rated Inn, although the rooms could use some updating, even though this is listed on Register of Historic Places. Every floorboard in room squeaked loudly, which loses it's charm in the middle of the night. Dinner was excellent, breakfast standard. Great place for hiking and other outdoor sports. Close to downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Just Inn, EXCELLENT Dining"
My Wife & stayed one night for a quick get-a-way. We had a Queen Deluxe room. It seemed average in many respects. We did like the charm of the old homestead: seeing the worn thresholds - guessing how many hundreds of times family members had walked the halls, etc. The bed was comfy. The sitting chairs could have been more comfy for long reading sessions. […] It felt very private, but we could hear doors slamming (actually we later figured it was the automatic door closers - if one is careful you can shut the door w/o any noise. The common room was nicely set up. The high point was dinner. The waitress knew how to make good suggestions. The food was excellent & presented very well. The grounds looked very pleasing; very pastoral and peaceful. The staff seemed accommodating to families. Breakfast was included, but not outstanding, above average buffet, but no stand out signature items or home made treats. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The location was ideal to Woodstock, VT"
Very cozy. I heard Julia Child stayed in the room I was in.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at the Inn for two nights after surgery at nearby Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital. We needed unexpected favors several times and were accommodated cheerfully and helpfully. We love the place in any circumstances, but their care on this occasion was above and beyond. And, by the way, the rooms are lovely and the food wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint and charming Inn"
My wife and I had a great time at the Queechee Inn. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed with the staff on how easy check in was and how we were shown our room location - very polite and hands-onrather than the usual verbal directions other places give. Every element of our stay was relaxing and positive, except for one: the bathrooms could […] really use some updates (the shower specifically). Old fixtures and narrow/shallow tubs could use an upgrade. Breakfast was good and selection impressive. Local tourism is easy this time of year with plenty to see and do if you are the snow type. "Warm and cozy"
My stay at the Quechee was very pleasant. This is a quintessential New England inn with a roaring fire, guests doing puzzles and four poster beds to climb into after a long day. It was thoroughly enjoyable, especially the great breakfast buffet in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great visit - just needed more snow!"
Everything about our stay was very good if not excellent - comfortable room, hearty breakfast (included), helpful staff, wonderful common area with fireplace, and cross-country skiing out the door. Only downsides were the room and mattress being slightly dated, and lack of snow covering the ski trails. Quechee and the wonderful Simon Pearce glass factory […] and restaurant only 1/2 mile away - a glorious way to spend a few hours. All-in-all, a great place to spend a Saturday in February in Vermont! "Beautiful B&B on the Vt/NH line."
Had a winter overnight -- wish we could have stayed longer! Its an old historic Inn -- we had a canopy covered bed with a comfortable bedroom, nice touches in the bathroom, and a great full breakfast -- eggs, pancakes, granola, fruit, sausage and bacon, juice, tea, coffee. We took advantage of the Friday night $55/two person dinner with wine -- delicious […] -- and the wait staff was extremely pleasant. A secluded country inn but with easy access to Interstate 89 and 91, and Quechee. Others in our group who stayed in the standard hotels were sorry they didn't join us! We weren't able to take advantage of all the outdoor activities offered but saw ice fishermen at the ice fishing derby on the lake across from the Inn. A wonderful experience! OK place, very convenient to X-C ski trails. Service was Vermont--not warm but not rude. Nice hotel in a little back water area. Good standard continental breakfast but nothing frilly. Rooms were clean with nice bathrooms. The Hotels.com price was a good deal for two folks. "quaint & historic stay"
I had a great stay at the Quechee Inn! I was pleasantly surprised at the charm this place possesses. I didn't actually do much research before I booked my room and was surprised to discover that the inn is on the national register of historic places. There is a local outfitter on site and I was able to rent some snowshoes on short notice and had a great […] trek through the woods along the Quechee gorge on the Connecticut River.
