"Very convenient, somewhat basic hotel"
Location is great, room was fine, having a fridge and microwave in the room is fantastic. Hot tub was also very nice, though I wished it was just a tad hotter. My only real complaint is the air conditioning/heat unit in the room. It is pretty loud, which would have been fine if there was a way to make it stay on - but on low, high, and auto it turned […] off and on, off and on. The room isn't very soundproof - noises are very easily heard from the hall except when the heat/air unit is on. So I didn't sleep well at all with either noises from the hall waking me, or the unit itself turning off and on. I don't consider myself to be a very light sleeper, but I definitely had problems here. Other than that the room was good, nice and clean, bed comfortable, etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my stay very much. I have three suggestions. Change the mattresses. They are very firm and not tolerated when someone has arthritis and change your pool to allow swimming in a deep end.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient to many amenities. Easy access from major roadsGenuine Expedia guest review
Friendly, helpful staff, but the hotel is beginning to show its' age - musty smell in rooms, old furnihings, fan in bathroom idn't work toilet flushed very slowly etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was unsatisfied with my stay. The heater was "working," and the max I cut set it on was 80 degrees, yet my room was freezing all night. Even the covers were not nearly enough for me to stay warm; I ended up sleeping in my hoodie and full clothing. Also, the hotel room's numbering system was incredibly complicated and I had difficulty finding my r […] oom. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for impromptu stays...."
First of all if I could give halves I would. This hotel is not a bad hotel in anyway, due to my own mistake I got put in a smoking section and that was a problem because of my brother who has athsma. I did go and ask the front desk if there was anything to be done but there were no extra rooms. They did offer to come and deionize the room and were very […] nice and understanding as well as apologetic for something that wasn't their fault. The only thing that I would say was a problem was our bath-shower which kept clogging up as well as their washer and dryer not working. Overall they were welcoming and understanding and I would stay again just in a non smoking section. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The complimentary breakfast was a joke. Toast, juice, waffles, were extra. Extra for toast? You have to be kidding!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel overall"
good, but no night light in bathroom, and when I asked for one I thought I asked for a space shuttle! also too many people lingering in hallway and talking late at night, doesn't any one from security walk haaways?.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenience and quality"
It was wonderful experince. I highly recommend to stay here. Clean, good service, good location. I am so happy with the service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel is in need of updating, old and worn lookingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was ok for what we paid. They should be ashamed of themselves for the condition of their gym. It is in abysmal condition. Most equipment doesn't work and what does work is pretty rusty and in very poor condition. I found 50% of the staff to be helpful and courteous, but the other 50% not so much. The hostess in the restaurant was close to […] one of the rudest individuals I have encountered in a while. The room was very clean. The location was super convenient, but it isn't a place I would want to stay for a real vacation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older Hotel But OK"
Found this hotel to be older and a little worn around the edges but met our needs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only disadvantage was, being a senior, there was no elevator to the second floor where my room was located.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Holiday Inn Rutland"
I stayed here for three nights. I liked the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. One hot tub, however, was not working and neither was cleaned in the evening. If you want to soak after a day on the slopes, the water will be very used by that time. The fitness center was good. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is right in the middle of […] Rutland so there are shops around if you need to buy anything. It is a very short drive to a few good restaurants and about a half hour to Killington. If you are looking for something more secluded, then this hotel would not be a good choice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"If you cant be right on the mountain..."
We stayed at the hotel for a couple of days of skiing at Killington and Pico. Since we couldnt be right on the mountain this was a terrific alternative. My only complaint was that the hot tub jets did not work properly. I liked that one hot tub was kept hotter than the other!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed two nights and the location was a 1/2 hr from Killington resort in which I was misled online when I booked but we made the best of it. Also in a strip mall. One of the hot tubs wasn't working and not very clean. Pool was clean. Room was clean and comfy. No elevators either but manageable. Overall good stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed there for 4 days. Clean and comfortable hotel with nice accommodations, buffet style breakfast. The only thing i didnt like is bar. Ordered two grape crush cocktails and couldn't even taste alcohol. too sour.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Holiday Inn in Rutland"
Christmas family ski trip. Hotel was close enough to ski either Killington, or Okemo mountians, about the same distance from both, but Okemo seemed like a much easier drive. The hotel was great, even if the weather wasn't. We could only ski two days because of warm rainy weather on our other two days that we hoped to be skiing. That was okay though, […] because my seven year old enjoyed the pool every night, and the front desk was very helpful with recommendations around town for activities to entertain a seven year old child. Plus the restuarant was great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't take any notice of the pictures"
This hotel is not based in beautiful green countryside as the pictures might lead you to believe. It is in the middle of a strip mall on route 7 out of Rutland. It is quite a distance from the town centre and surrounded by traffic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice, BUT NOT $212/Nite Nice"
The hotel staff from Front Desk to Cleaning Staff were very courteous. Large Room, Very hard(firm) King size mattress. View of a tree outside the window blocked the view of the picturesque hills. Black mold in grout of shower/tub surround. 1 Hot Tub 1/2 working, Cold Pool. Hallways/carpets an eyesore(Stains, end to end of hallway). Continental breakfast […] Very Good, KUTO's to kitchen. If I was paying $120 - $150 / nite I wouldn't really mind. But it's the last time I'll pay Average $212/nite for a stay like that. Over All NOT IMPRESSED!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The heating system in the room is very inconsistent. The heat is either too hot, or not exsitent. Need better thermostats in the room rather than the window heating units.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Service impéccable, installations un peu désuètes"
Accueil et personnel impeccables. Lit confortable. Propreté de la chambre correcte. Climatisation quelque peu défaillante et bruits extérieurs dérangeants en soirée. La piscine était réservée par un groupe privée. Le déjeuner type buffet était bon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rutland Holiday Inn"

Front desk staff were very helpful. I got two rooms right across from each other. One king and one with two double beds on the first floor and both were clean. Closest door to our room was in the back were you could not see the parking lot but there was good lighting at night. Rear entry door had a full trash can both days that was spilling onto the ground. Strange layout or floor plan. We went through the pool area to get to the dining area or front desk. Pool is indoors and small. People used it even during breakfast. Breakfast was buffet style. French toast on Monday was the best item. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, and cold cereal with usual drinks. Not bad and plenty of it. No French toast on Tuesday. Waffles that were no sub for FT. Room next to use had teens with a dog. They were very loud but settled down around 11pm. Walls are not very thick. Would I stay here again? Maybe not, because I like to check out new place.

I've stayed her twice now because it's convenient but it needs some upkeep. We arrived late (around 11 pm) and the only person working at the reception desk was very distracted. He answered the phone several times while were checking in without ever excusing himself. There is a big conference room / bar right around the corner from the reception desk and it sounded like a huge drunken party was going on. There were intoxicated people all around, outside smoking, inside walking and talking loudly in the corridors. There was an unbelievable amount of noise from in there. Our room was a short distance from one of the guest entrances and there were people in and out of there all day and night as they went out there to smoke. We had to pass through a cloud of cigarette smoke every time we used the door. A large group of people came back late from a wedding on our first night there and the noise they made was ridiculous, they were hollering, banging on doors, laughing, and I believe at least some of them were sick on the carpeting as the next morning part of the carpet was covered in plastic. Our tub had hairs in it. Our beds BOTH had hairs in them. There was a glob of what looked like caulking or floor cement on the outside of the toilet. The curtains were stained and very dirty. In the past we were given a breakfast voucher but this time we were told we could not have vouchers. I will say that at one point I evidently brought back the wrong room key from the pool / hot tub and the reception staff replaced it without any issue. The daytime desk staff seem polite and professional but at nighttime, this place goes downhill, it is more like a bar atmosphere and there's no attempt to keep people from disturbing the other guests.
"Great event at Holiday Inn Rutland/Killington"
08/18/14 Mary D
I booked a family event at the conference center and I am so glad I did! Lisa, the catering service manager, helped me plan the room and menu that suited our style, and even chose a room in which the decor that matched our color scheme. Her friendly, easygoing style made planning this event much less stressful. The day of the event, Carl, the event manager, went above and beyond to personally meet our every need. He brought in an extra table, set everything up exactly as we wanted, and personally tended the event, making sure the food was hot and well-stocked, the beverages were topped off and the tables were cleared promptly. The food was delicious and appealingly presented. Everyone was pleasantly surprised that egg rolls, pot stickers, franks in blankets, veggies and fruit/cheese trays could be so nice, with sauces and dips to go with everything. I would definitely utilize these facilities again, with pleasure.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days at the beginning of August. Check-in was seamless, no problems at all. Our standard room with (1) queen and pull-out couch and refrigerator/microwave was acceptable. This hotel has a pool and jacuzzi area...unfortunately it was pretty dingy and was in need to be cleaned. The steam room was out of order. The workout room seemed sufficient; although I didn't use it. The overall condition of the building was fair/good. This property needs to be refurbished in order for it to look in good taste. The best thing about this stay...the breakfast buffet. Although, the buffet costs $9.95/day (some rewards members get free breakfast), it is definitely worth the price. It was fresh, plentiful and tasty...especially the home fries. For those seeking lodging in the Rutland\Killington area, this hotel beats out may others in the area.
"Showing its age"
08/11/14 TxTraveler254 Waco, Texas
This inn was probably a stunner in its heyday; however, it’s the old-style facility from the days when Holiday Inns were premiere smaller-market convention sites with long hallways and multiple entrances spread over large acreage, but it has definitely seen better days. The room was well arranged and quite adequate, but the entrances and stairways left much to be desired: spartan, dimly lighted, and not at all attractive. The recommended parking lot behind the inn did not look safe, so I parked in one of the few more visible spaces out front. Breakfast was excellent, a real restaurant breakfast buffet rather than the Holiday Inn-Express variety. Overall, it was adequate for an overnight, but I would not make it my base of operations if staying in the area for several days.
"Great stay,super friendly staff,delicious food."

I don't normally write reviews but I had the best service I've had in a long time. I called last minute for a room and they had one, ,Meghan checked me in and was very friendly. There was a happy hour in progress with refreshments and cheese & crackers. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent[( prime rib ). The room was very comfortable and quiet.

Spent two nights here on business and will not go back. Our no smoking room smelled like smoke, The carpet and bathroom need changing…didn't want to go barefoot and the air conditioner woke me up every time it kicked on. The bed and the breakfast was good.
"Very poor for a Holiday Inn"
07/26/14 franzsalzburg salzburg
Well - on the bright side, they may have tried to make the best out of it - so some furniture is new and some carpets look nice. Staff was friendly. Restaurants and shops close-by. Not so good: Hotel seems to be surrounded by parking lots (with huge containers "parked" there, in addition to pick up trucks all over) - no views from our rooms, which is a pitty in beautiful Vermont; entrance to the rooms unclean, with a full garbage can placed there. Rooms a bit depressing, dark, windows do not open. Beds very uncomfortable (cheap mattresses?). Our last experiences with Holiday Inn have been somewhat different... as we were used to a certain minimum standard.
"Great Conference Venue"
07/22/14 JenVT802 Burlington, Vermont
I went to a small (100 people) conference for the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the venue. The staff was amenable to our needs, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was good. We had an amazing berry shortcake for buffet dessert one night with lovely fresh berries and chantilly cream. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all ages. Carl and his banquet staff kept the ball rolling at meal times and was courteous and helpful.
"Way too expensive for a old hotel, in a ordinary city or place"
07/18/14 grosminet42 Montreal, Canada
The rooms were outdated, the bathroom and bedroom was way below average for the price of the room.... It looked like a 1970's room.... The a.c. Worked good in our room, the wifi worked good, the pool was nice and big, the food at the restaurant was very good, the hotel staff gave a good service... I had to change my room key card twice.... I was with a group, i didn't pick this hotel, not sure i would go back.... I have travelled all over the world and can tell you , this hotel is not a bargain for what you pay for....
