"all things dead"
"put an antler on it Asheville" Nice hunting lodge decor, busy noisy street, but rich at the entrance to the Vanderbilt estate. Good food in the restaurant, although the portion of the flagship elk tenderloin wouldn't feed a chipmunk. Really helpful guy on the desk, professional service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very happy at the Grand Bohemian"
We had a wonderful time at the Grand Bohemian. The room was incredible, the bellman was awesome. My only complaint would be the restaurant and restaurant staff were less than stellar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Walking distance to restaurants and shopping, great spa treatments, excellent location for Biltmore.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I stayed one night while we were on town. What a wonderful surprise to find such a fine hotel beginning to end. It is small , luxurious, excellent service, food was outstanding, We had dinner and breakfast cared in the village right outside the gates of the Biltmore. We will definitely be back only stay longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We thought the hotel was beautiful and very clean. The Red Stag restaurant in the hotel was incredible. Would highly recommend a stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Incredibly pleasantly surprised"
All expectations were far exceeded! Greeted by a happy, kind valet guy. Then entered a lavishly appointed hotel lobby. The consierre was very engaged & attentive. The room was beautiful and clean and had romantic music playing upon our arrival. Food at the hotel restaurant was excellent. Looking forward to an opportunity to return!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is beautiful and the service was first class. Our room was lovely however if you do not require much sleep this is not the hotel for you. The train travels by the hotel several times during the night. Also, our room was either next to the washing machine area or there was a bad ac unit above our room. There was a continuous beating and rumbling […] throughout the night. It is a wonderful, luxurious hotel. If we stay there again I would make sure my room is located in a quieter location. Our breakfast was not up to par as the bagel was moldy, waffles not cooked completely and the omelet was not fabulous. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Grand Bohemian Asheville, Autograph Collection Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback about your experience. I would love another opportunity to regain your trust and provide our normal high level of hospitality. Best regards, John Luckett General Manager
The Bohemian is situated in an area within walking distances to many restaurants and shops around the beautiful Biltmore Village area. We enjoyed the appetizers waiting in our lobby after a late afternoon stroll. Staff was very attentive!Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Center of Attention"
The hotel was beautiful, plenty of furnishings and artwork to enjoy. The Red Stag restaurant, and the Poseidon Spa located within, were excellent. The Hotel's lodge-like theme was maintained throughout, which led to some really creative settings. Every staff member (and I mean literally anyone I happened to bump into) was very friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is the epitome of customer service. I accidentally booked for the wrong weekend and realized my mistake on the 6th hour of a 7 hour drive. I called the receptionist Liz in a panic to tell her we were an hour out and ask if there was any way she could she help us. She made it happen despite the late hour over a holiday weekend AND a wedding […] party staying at the hotel! I had originally requested a room with a tub but with the date mix up, there wasn't a room with a tub available. To our surprise on the last night Al was able to move us into a GORGEOUS room with a tub on our last night! Throughout our stay Liz, Robyn, and Al provided free happy hour, exquisite dinning recommenations, and made our stay absolutely wonderful! As Al said, they are in the business of making memories and the Grand Bohemian helped make memories that will last us a lifetime. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Awesome and relaxing place to stay"
Were there for 2 nights. Hotel is amazingly beautiful and comfortable. We found all staff members friendly and service oriented, perhaps best all around was bellman who collected our items the final day and helped move some antiques from one care to another. The Red Stag is awesome, delicious food and drinks... Can sit in the lobby by the fire and the […] servers from bar will come out and continue to take care of you. We will be back, already planning the next trip. This is one of the top 3 hotels have ever stayed in, including 5 stars in Europe. Many thanks Grand Bohemian! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A one-of-a-kind hotel"
The Grand Bohemian is hard to describe - a mixture of African Safari, Sound of Music, and Soho in NYC. We had asked for a high floor in the main building and got it. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne and friendly service. Liz was wonderful at the front desk and answered our questions. The Biltmore Estates was right there and we enjoyed eating […] in the Biltmore village (breakfast at The Corner Kitchen and dinner at the Cantina and Reza were good choices). Our room had a great tub and a comfortable bed. Great furniture, detailed woodworking throughout hotel. It may not be for everyone but it certainly was for us. A comfortable, eclectic and classy place without any airs. I loved all the different chandeliers and artwork. The valets were friendly as well. We didn't make use of the bar (but many guests did) but perhaps next time. It was a great start to a visit to Charlotte and Asheville (our first time in North Carolina). "Really excellent hotel"
Very nice, comfortable room and perfectly clean. Also very good location within walking distance of shops and restaurants, including a restaurant in the hotel. Very helpful staff. Have stayed here twice now and will be back again when I'm in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a great time. Lots to see in the area. Could have spent another day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I extremely enjoyed my stay at the Grand Bohemian. The architecture & art is absolutely beautiful! The room was exceptionally nice. Comfy bed, amazing shower (large rain shower head), clean and unique decor. The Red Stag Grill was very good for breakfast as well. The only negative thing about the experience was the parking. It wasn't clear as to where […] I should go (you actually drive into hotel) and a sign would have been nice instructing where to go. However, once I rounded the hotel about 2 or 3 times I figured it out and the valet guys were very friendly and helpful. :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Magnificent Hotel at the doorstep of Biltmore"
From check in to when we had to leave, the staff continued to be knowledgeable and friendly. We had a medical need and asked to be checked in early if possible, they came through gladly. Throughout the stay we had conversations with many of the friendly, courteous staff. The room was exquisite and very clean. We ate at The Red Stag twice, both breakfast […] and dinner. Both meals were beautiful and delicious. The décor is quite inviting and magnificent, we spent lots of time just looking around each floor in awe. We received quite an education from the gal in the Art Gallery which is also a must see!! Thank you to all at Grand Bohemian for the best vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Stayed in the Manor House , their annex across the street from the main hotel. The room was spacious and well appointed. We ate dinner in the hotel dining room, which lived up to our recollection of some previous visit to Asheville. Breakfast the next morning was a great send off to our next day's trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel across street from entrance of Biltmore"
Great location- not only are you across from Biltmore, but the Biltmore Village has shopping for everyone. Restaurants in the Village are great. Close to downtown. Hotel staff very courteous. Red Stag restaurant delicious! Highly recommend staying here!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Romantic Getaway Weekend"
My wife and I stated here for a romantic getaway and this hotel did not disappoint! Rooms were uniquely crafted as a blend of the rustic mountains with a NYC flair. Music was playing from a cd when we walked into the room and it matched the hotel motif so well we kept it playing. The staff were incredibly gracious. The surrounding area was nice but […] not particularly worth a lot of time. Steps from the Biltmore Estate gates. Overally this was an amazing romantic getaway hotel for 30 somethings. "Great hotel in Biltmore Village"
Our stay was extremely pleasant - the hotel is in great condition and the decorating is very well done. It is right in Biltmore Village, across the street from the entrance into the Biltmore Estate. The beds were comfortable, and the staff was helpful. There were many small touches that made the stay very special. Would definitely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location with lots of shopping near-by - directly across the street from the entrance to the Biltmore estate. The rooms were nicely appointed, staff was wonderfully courteous, and the food we had at the Red Stag grill was second to none!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
So disappointing to arrive and learn that your room is in "The Annex". This is across a busy street from the main property, and it can take 4-5 minutes to walk there because of the traffic light. The room is fine, but it is completely separate from the main property and all it's charms. The annex is sterile compared to the main property. You lose all […] the convenience of walking to the bar, the fitness center, the car park, everything! I really think they should alert you at reservation that you are being put there. If you are, I would stay elsewhere, as it is just not worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Unexpected Dissapointment"
My wife and I stayed at the Bohemian recently while vacationing in Asheville and had an incredibly bad experience. As an aside, this was truly the first aggregious experience I have had at any hotel which would warrant such a review. The hotel and rooms are beautiful- but Incredibly Noisy. The first night, we kept hearing loud banging noises (such as […] pipes or metallic objects being hit) next door. This went on sporatically from 9pm to 12:30am. We tried I ignore it at first- bc we love how gorgeous it was- but finally realized we could not sleep. I went to the front desk I complain about the noise. With little empathy, he offered to move us to another room. He noted- "the 3rd floor should be much more quiet than the 2nd". This statement alone concerned me because he initially responded to me with disbelief but now it seemed he was acknowledging a common noise problem. When we get to our room, we realize he moved us to a space which was significantly smaller. When we got settled in, we then heard another loud noise- this time coming from outside. I looked out and realized the noise was a cleaning service vacuuming the hotel's shuttle vans. I'm not sure which bothered me more- 1) management chose to have the vacuuming done at 1am, or 2) that the hotel was so noisy we could hear vacuuming from the third floor while in our room. Again, I went down to complain and was met with very little compassion. Needless to say, I canceled our remaining nights and we moved to the Doubletree the next night- a much more pleasant, quiet and relaxing experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Took my wife for our Anniversary weekend and the hotel is amazing. They serve you with Champagne when you walk through the door. The room accomodations are just awesome, with my favorite part of the room being the shower - which is like a rain shower but it was a perfect blend of water capacity coupled with the temperature of the water - it was just […] plain awesome. "It was Valentines weekend"
We decided at the last minute to go to Asheville. The town and food alone are worth the trip. The staff at the Grande Bohemian were fantastic and couldn't do enough for their guests. The room however, was not great. We paid over $400 a night and we could barely move in the room. It was not comfortable, at all. There were no tables nor an area to read […] or just relax. There was just a chair and the bed. The vanity in the bathroom was so small, hard to fit our things on it. They didn't even offer any complimentary waters. There were waters in the room, but the cost was $5.00 per water! Not impressed! The only way we will return, is if, we get a room much cheaper. The staff was so great, we would always enjoy the service! The hotel itself nothing special! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Loved the Grand Bohemian. Great staff, great room in the Manor House. Train was a nuisance the first night as there were quite a few that passed in the night, so didn't sleep very much that night. Second night was better-only had a 2 and they were spaced out during the night. If we stay again will ask for room further away from tracks ,but doubt that […] would make a much of a difference. Nice breakfast in a.m. but don't waste your $$$ for dinner. Much better quality would be found downtown for much better price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Upscale Hunting Lodge Experience"
We booked a room for one night, making our choice based on reviews from former guests who posted on Expedia. We were sorry that we could not have spent more time there, but had an appointment in Winston-Salem to attend. The staff were helpful and pleasant, from the people who parked cars to the workers we met while riding the elevators. The room was beautiful […] and very clean. The only negative was that the water pressure in the shower was too strong;actually stung the skin to stand under it. We would certainly go back again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Fun decor. Great bathroom complete with deep soaking tub. Friendly and attentive staff. Only recommendation would be for better beds and pillows...our bed had two deep grooves, and the pillows were flat.Genuine Expedia guest review
First time in Asheville and it will definitely not be our last! Loved the hotel, it's ambiance, the artwork and the fact that it is right across the street (literally) to the Biltmore Estate. This hotel is located in the Biltmore Village and is surrounded by great shops and dining - I highly recommend the Corner Kitchen. Delish! I did read about the […] train, and it did make an appearance in the evening and the next day but it didn't bother me one bit. It actually added to the feel of the whole experience and we found it to be charming. The hotel was immaculate and I am extremely picky when it comes to this because I notice everything. Especially the bathroom. Very clean. Lobby was gorgeous! Big fireplace and plenty of comfy seating all around to enjoy a drink and warm fire. We did have to cross the street to get to our rooms but that wasn't a big deal, again, it added to the whole experience. We are planning on coming back and staying here again. Loved it!! Very well appointed hotel , very close to restaurants, shopping and the Biltmore. Everything in hotel clean, new and elegant but some decor a bit much for me.. Too many wild boars, horns and stuffed animals spoil an otherwise very solidly built and appointed site. Caution to aged and infirm- Tub sides are VERY high and make taking a shower an Olympic […] exercise. Nice restaurant, again appointed with deer heads throughout. "Convenient to the Biltmore - beautiful hotel!"
The hotel staff was great and made our stay in Asheville even better. "What a great hotel!"
Thoroughly impressed with the experience of staying at this hotel. The exterior is a mix of Tudor style and lodge and fits in well with the Biltmore Village. The art adorning the walls combined with the feeling of a wilderness lodge in the lobby made the whole place feel warm and inviting. The room was excellent and featured a walk in shower with a […] large tub linked to the rest of the room by large wooden shutters that could be opened/closed. The location is convenient to the Biltmore grounds and is located right across from the entrance. The only complaint I had was being charged for a local call. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I suppose it wasn't all their fault"
So, my wife and I wanted to take a vacation to Biltmore before our baby comes, I splurged and got this hotel. 2 nights. While the facilities were great, many things just weren't good. Our room was spacious and comfortable but let it be known that if you stay in one of the king suites, you will have to walk across the street to your room. Not very fun […] in Asheville in winter. We got to the hotel at 4pm (check in time) and our room wasn't ready for 15-20 minutes. The following day, the water was off for 5 hours (water main break, not their fault, but disappointing when you have a huge garden tub that your pregnant wife wants to use as many times as possible). We were woken up at 845am by a maid Saturday morning who didn't understand why I was upset that she wanted to clean my room that early. Fine, no big deal. One hour later a bell hop came by and tried to take our bags, when we weren't due to check out until the following day. Seriously, did they not want us there? Now, we went to the concierge downstairs (across the street) and were given $75 to spend at their high-priced restaurant, the Red Stag Grille. This made things a bit better. When we checked out, the bell hop managed to break a VERY nice bottle of wine on the sidewalk that my wife had bought for herself to have after our child is born. Icing on the cake. I know many thigns weren't their fault, but the overall experience of this hotel (ESPECIALLY given the price) was marginal, at best. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Grand Bohemian Asheville, Autograph Collection Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback from your recent stay. Please accept our apologies for the interruptions you encountered the first morning of your visit. I can understand how it would interfere with a relaxing vacation. I also apologize that we were having complications with our city water supply. It was completely unexpected. I am happy to hear that our front office team was able help rectify the challenges with the restaurant voucher and replacing the bottle of wine. We hope that you will visit us again in the future.
The Hotel was very nice...The only thing that was uncomfortable was our hotel was across a very busy St.that took a long time for the light to change. It was cold and very windy....I would not stay at this part of the Hotel again. Did not realize there was 2 different buildings and how inconvenient it was. We really liked the hotel. Great lobby, bar and ambience. "Right across from Biltmore"
Luxury Hotel! The decor was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. They do give complimentary champagne for special occasions. I do have a few gripes, though. We stayed in the Manor House, which I had no idea was across a moderately busy street. Having to walk across the street to get the car, or even go to the hotel bar, was a little aggravating, […] especially when it's cooler outside. Also, we didn't have an ice machine on our floor. The front desk rep didn't know where it was, either. Had to get room service to find it...which was on the third floor. We stayed on the second floor. The sound-proofing isn't the best. They should give complimentary bottled water...just a couple. The Evian in the room costs $5! The breakfast was pricey, and not the best. Kind of wish we had just gotten a quick breakfast from the neighboring Hardee's or Starbucks. The staff was very, very nice, especially the front desk representatives. There was always coffee, or cider, in the lobby. It's within walking distance of some really nice local shops and cafes, and high-end retail stores. I loved the overall atmosphere of the hotel. I would love to stay at another property of theirs. I will return, definitely! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
