"Very Unexpected Dissapointment"
My wife and I stayed at the Bohemian recently while vacationing in Asheville and had an incredibly bad experience. As an aside, this was truly the first aggregious experience I have had at any hotel which would warrant such a review. The hotel and rooms are beautiful- but Incredibly Noisy. The first night, we kept hearing loud banging noises (such as […] pipes or metallic objects being hit) next door. This went on sporatically from 9pm to 12:30am. We tried I ignore it at first- bc we love how gorgeous it was- but finally realized we could not sleep. I went to the front desk I complain about the noise. With little empathy, he offered to move us to another room. He noted- "the 3rd floor should be much more quiet than the 2nd". This statement alone concerned me because he initially responded to me with disbelief but now it seemed he was acknowledging a common noise problem. When we get to our room, we realize he moved us to a space which was significantly smaller. When we got settled in, we then heard another loud noise- this time coming from outside. I looked out and realized the noise was a cleaning service vacuuming the hotel's shuttle vans. I'm not sure which bothered me more- 1) management chose to have the vacuuming done at 1am, or 2) that the hotel was so noisy we could hear vacuuming from the third floor while in our room. Again, I went down to complain and was met with very little compassion. Needless to say, I canceled our remaining nights and we moved to the Doubletree the next night- a much more pleasant, quiet and relaxing experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very well appointed hotel , very close to restaurants, shopping and the Biltmore. Everything in hotel clean, new and elegant but some decor a bit much for me.. Too many wild boars, horns and stuffed animals spoil an otherwise very solidly built and appointed site. Caution to aged and infirm- Tub sides are VERY high and make taking a shower an Olympic […] exercise. Nice restaurant, again appointed with deer heads throughout. Service good, and personnel were well trained. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Awesome!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not disappointed at all. Friendly service, beautiful hotel, win win. Only negative is I couldn't find where to enter from the street at night, but easy to drive around and find it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to the Biltmore - beautiful hotel!"
The hotel staff was great and made our stay in Asheville even better. We were there for a girls get away and the hotel bar/restaurant were perfect places for us to gather while waiting to head out for the day. An added perk was the Starbucks across the street. The hotel is beautiful, the fireplace is welcoming. Hot chocolate and Coffee were always available. […] Will be staying here again, next time on a romantic get away. "What a great hotel!"
Thoroughly impressed with the experience of staying at this hotel. The exterior is a mix of Tudor style and lodge and fits in well with the Biltmore Village. The art adorning the walls combined with the feeling of a wilderness lodge in the lobby made the whole place feel warm and inviting. The room was excellent and featured a walk in shower with a […] large tub linked to the rest of the room by large wooden shutters that could be opened/closed. The location is convenient to the Biltmore grounds and is located right across from the entrance. The only complaint I had was being charged for a local call. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel. Paid too much."
We really liked the hotel. Great lobby, bar and ambience. However we paidore through Expedia than others who booked direct:( And our room was at the Manor House across the street instead if the main building. We had several friends who booked direct and they were Alll booked in the main building and paid less than we did. Several booked after we did […] so I felt that we were put in the less desirable location because we did not book direct. The hotel is in a really great location! "Right across from Biltmore"
Luxury Hotel! The decor was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. They do give complimentary champagne for special occasions. I do have a few gripes, though. We stayed in the Manor House, which I had no idea was across a moderately busy street. Having to walk across the street to get the car, or even go to the hotel bar, was a little aggravating, […] especially when it's cooler outside. Also, we didn't have an ice machine on our floor. The front desk rep didn't know where it was, either. Had to get room service to find it...which was on the third floor. We stayed on the second floor. The sound-proofing isn't the best. They should give complimentary bottled water...just a couple. The Evian in the room costs $5! The breakfast was pricey, and not the best. Kind of wish we had just gotten a quick breakfast from the neighboring Hardee's or Starbucks. The staff was very, very nice, especially the front desk representatives. There was always coffee, or cider, in the lobby. It's within walking distance of some really nice local shops and cafes, and high-end retail stores. I loved the overall atmosphere of the hotel. I would love to stay at another property of theirs. I will return, definitely! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Structurally beautiful - helpful, friendly competent staff, Terrific dining roomGenuine Expedia guest review
We loved the hotel. The only disappointment was when we went down to the lobby to have a drink later in the evening that the fireplace was not lit. Such a special lobby and was looking forward to sitting by the fire with a drink. Otherwise, it was fabulous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Biltmore"
The decor was over the top (how many stuffed animals does one hotel need?) The bathroom was almost unacceptable -- no latching door, a window into the bedroom, an almost transparent door on the toilet compartment. I hated the bathroom. "Disappointed this time."
I stayed at this hotel last year for work, and such a wonderful time that my husband and I splurged to stay here for our anniversary this year. The room wasn't near as nice as last time, and we paid nearly $100 more. Additionally, they accidentally charged me and put a bill under our door, so I saw where that charge was nearly $50 less than what I was […] charged by hotels.com. Not happy about that. Great rooms, Great staff, Great service wonderful bar. I am very picky and this hotel meet with all my expectations of a great hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very unique hotel and great rooms although in a busy area of Ashville with some road noise at night. We were promised a bottle of champaigne since we were celebrating an anniversary...but never received. Food quality good but small portions for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful, unique place to stay!"
We absolutely loved the hotel. It is very luxurious, but the staff is not uppity, they're very gracious. My 16 year old daughter thought it was the coolest hotel she's ever been too. The room was spotless, there was jazz playing for us when we got to our room. The location is convenient. It's across the street from the Biltmore. The Biltmore Village […] shops are on the other side of the street, and there are both upscale restaurants and fast food within very easy walking distance. We would definitely stay again. Better than expected. Already booked again! We were swept away by the unique and luxurious décor, impeccable service, friendliness of the staff, and quality of the overall experience. Don't miss this.Genuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful stay and beautiful hotel. The rooms, especially the beds and bathrooms were very comfortable. We were disappointed that the surrounding town closed up shop by 6, and we were not able to enjoy the neighborhood after we left Biltmore.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was absolutely fabulous and the style and decor of the hotel was beautiful. Very relaxing. We had only one night to spend in Asheville as we were just travelling through. we have stayed in Asheville before for sightseeing. It is a perfect location for the Biltmore. The hotel is sort of in between the Biltmore Estate & downtown Asheville. You need a car to get to both, but it's only about 5 min drive to either place. The trolley stops right at the hotel, which is so convenient, epecially if you don't want to drive. There are shops & restaurants within walking distance in the village. The decor of the hotel is rustic […] & unusual. Not my taste, but cool if you like that sort of thing. The staff is wonderful & helpful. You can hear the train coming through at night, which is a bit of a "My Cousin Vinnie" moment, but it didn't really bother us too much. Food & drinks in the restaurant are really good. "Stylish, expensive, lots of little charges"
The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are stylish, but I was disappointed about how many little charges there were, parking is extra, a bottle of water is 5 dollars, etc. For what we paid per night, you'd think they could throw in a bottle of water. I also found random things in my room left over from the last guest...a wire hanger dangling from the […] curtain rod, an ipad charger left hanging outof a wall socket. It made me wonder how much effort was really put into cleaning the rooms. There are lots of nice places to stay in asheville with more amenities at half the price. "Nice people, not sure about the value"
Very nice service for an expensive boutique hotel, but they slipped on the details: weren't prepared when we checked in, engineering came up three times to fix the door, tv/computer, housekeeping didn't replace glasses that were used. We were billed again for a prepaid reservation. The place was pretty, but I don't think we'd consider it a destination […] again. Bright Spot: the staff at the spa was outstanding. Upon arrival the front desk, said, "we are here to help-if you need any concierge service. we said, yes, where is Chimney Rock. Response, gee, I don't know, I haven't been there since 3rd grade. sadly, she did not think to use the computer in front of her. street rooms are insanely noisy. staff overall not trained properly. layout of hotel with rooms […] across a major street is awful, busy, dangerous + drivers who don't like pedestrians. I paid alot of money for 2 rooms/3 nites-I didn't not get the value I deserved. cookies are very good in lobby at tea time. we met a couple getting coffee in the AM, they checked out + went to Grove Park. "Not what we expected"
On arrival we were directed to a desk in the main room ( ? ) of the Grand Bohemian where a staff member gave directions, took reservations and handled our registration. No signage, sitting areas or anything that resembled a hotel registration room. We were assigned a room in the Bohemian annex which is across a busy street from the hotel. The room itself […] was satisfactory BUT the toilet did not have a door. Instead the doorway was covered with a curtain. The same for the entire wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. Car parking is via valet and the hotel charges guests $15 a night. The hotel restaurant is very good. Food is excellent, Ditto service staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel but not worth the cost"
I booked this hotel for one night while visiting the Biltmore. I was slightly disappointed about the experience versus the cost. I did not like the fact that I had to cross the street with my bags, in the rain and then try and figure out where to go. When I checked in I was handed a set of keys and just told to cross the street. Once I got there, I […] didn't know what floor to go to and there was not anyone manning the desk for me to ask. The room itself was comfortable- very clean and while decorated eclectically, it was not off putting. I had read the reviews about the glass bathroom doors and was a bit nervous but it was not as bad as I had anticipated. It was a very quiet and peaceful stay but next time I would rather spend the money on a hotel downtown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Went to Biltmore Estate to propose. The hotel has the WOW factor when we first arrived. Staff was more than helpful with all our questions and requests. A+! My only complaint is the valet parking. Intimate, small hotel across the street from Biltmore entrance in the heart of Biltmore village. Lots of character and beautiful decor. Within walking distance from many restaurants and shops. "Asheville, NC a great place to visit"
Best part about this hotel is the beds. They are SO COMFORTABLE! The decor is a bit strange and eclectic; bavarian and a hodgepodge of different art themes, including antler ceiling lights in the bathroom. The shower had a rain-style shower head that couldn't be positioned to rinse all parts of your body thoroughly, as the enclosure was too small to […] accommodate the design. The location of the hotel was ideal for shopping and dining; all within short walking distance. However, it is still a short drive to visit historic downtown Asheville that is certainly a must do. A tour of the Thomas Wolfe museum and the boarding house that his mother owned, adjacent to the museum, is a wonderful way to spend an hour or more depending on your level of interest; and very inexpensive! Hands down the best in ambience of any hotel we've ever stayed in, abroad in or in the states. The decor is very unique and superb, the staff friendly and the restaurant outstanding as well.
