This was our first all-inclusive and we really didn't know what to expect. Before arriving, we received prompt responses to emailed questions. After arriving, we visited Guest Services to plan accommodation for our vegetarian meals, a babysitter and lowering the crib. The hotel staff was eager to please and the quality of service was incredible. Food […] was good, resort was clean, staff friendly, beach beautiful, drinks good, pool nice. We brought our 8 month old baby and he had a great time in the pool and on the beach, and the staff was so friendly and everyone wanted to hold him. The only real disappointment was snorkeling. More people than fish. It was so bad, the tour operators are pushing bread on snorkelers before the excursion. I'd give the snorkeling a C- grade. Otherwise, the whole resort experiences a solid A grade. We'd go back. Tips: shop around for transportation to/from airport... we got a shared van for $25/$28 each way. If you have special dietary needs, work with the Chef and her assistants. If you have a baby, bring along a hand-blender so you can make your own baby food with the mango, papaya, banana, etc... I'm sure they're do it for you, but we had our own hand blender and every morning at breakfast prepared his meals for the day... everyone was so accommodating. Read more

The beach and pools were gorgeous. The food was excellent. The service wasn't great. Half the people were really nice and friendly, the other half seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. The beds are really uncomfortable and the toilets are insanely horrible. I had to ask for a wash cloth to be delivered every day which was a little annoying.

When u walk into this hotel the grandure will take you over. The staff are there right away to help you with your bags. The check in was easy as an elegance club member you get private check in. We arrived at the resort and before our bags were unloaded we were greeed by our awesome butler Ceaser who escorted us straight to the bar for a drink and telling us "I will take care of everything, you are on vacation" and he did! Room had a safe and sufficent space for our clothes. Grounds are very well kept, maintained and cleaned. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Occasionally a language barrier, but this is to be expected when your are in a spanish speaking country and only speak english. We never had to wait at a restarant or for a drink at the many bars throughout the resort. Entertainment was diffrent every night and very good. They set up the best Super Bowl party I ever attended with plenty of food drink and movie theater screen. Received calls daily from the front desk to make sure everything was OK and two visits from the resort manager to see if we were having a geat vacation. Also, no one at the resort tried to sell us ANYTHING (i.e. timeshares). Food was very good and we enjoyed every restaurant there. We especially liked the steak restaurant for dinner and the Italian for lunch. The elegance club upgrade was very much worth it with two exclusive pools and bars for members. I was on vacation with my wife for 5 days at the Majestic Elegance Hotel. I liked the hotel and food, but the service for outside activities was very bad. I decided to sail one day with catamaran and went to get a boat. They had insurance fee in case if I brake the boat to cover the damage. So I paid $6 for one day and sail out with the catamaran in […] the ocean and in about 3-5 min the boat's steering wheel broke down, the bolt with lock nut was missing; my wife and I had to manage to get back to shore and after everything it was my false. The guy told me that I didn't know how to sail, didn't say even sorry for that, he refused to give me back those $6 dollars and covered all the damage after all; called his manager, who never picked the phone..... In my opinion he didn't check the boat before letting people go with it and he even told me that I could to check it myself before it happened. I felt that I wasted my time walking to front desk and back to the beach trying to prove I was right and also half of my day that I planned was ruined. I paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel and I didn't expect that kind of service at the beach. Why I think the hotel should be down grated from a 4.5 to a 3 star..The registration staff was cool and less accommodating. Both times we went to the hotel they had to change our room after the first night. So you really can’t settle in for two days. The over all condition of the rooms are worn and dated. The valve in the shower prevented one to regulate the water flow properly. The white shag rugs were dingy. Bathrobes and towels thread bear and tattered. You are given one beach towel absolutely forbidden to have a second towel. You may not bring the room towel to the beach or pool. You need more than one towel. Very ridicules system.The Terrace Bar near our room never opened, ice machines on all three floors of our building broken, Elevator in our building did not work from the second floor so one had to walk up and down Nightlife shows were the same as last year and are a poor form of acrobatics. The club that opened was geared for the younger crowd, and the piano bar never had anyone playing the piano.Spa services after registering for services and signing half way through treatment the staff changed the price. We spent our 50th birthdays here from Jan 2-9 and we had a great time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We upgraded to the elegance club and had a butler assigned to us . Henry was great . I requested a fan for the room and came back after dinner to find it blowing right in the direction of the bed. He also had a birthday cake and candles […] in our room one evening and left us gifts!. The food was good for the most part. As with any restaurant we all have our likes and dislikes, but with the variety they have I would say there was something to suit everyone's tastes. The beaches were very clean and you could always find a lounge chair. Same with the pool areas. We really enjoying the outdoor entertainment in the evenings . The funjestic team were very energetic and entertaining. Maixima, Rosa, and Felix at the bar on the beach were just awesome, as was Pedro at the pool bar. Go visit the hamburger place that opens at 1130 PM........ the guy there is very nice, the burgers and fries are really good, and they help to ward off that hangover that you may have in the morning !. I do suggest taking your own insulated cup, it cuts down on the mass amounts of plastic cups they use and keeps your drink colder. Tipping goes a long way here not that you don't get good service without it, but I believe in tipping when I am being waited on and the staff works very hard at this resort to ensure that you are having a good time. The best hotel I have ever stayed in! We were served welcome drinks, the Majestic when we arrived at our private check-in. We went with the Elegance Club room. We were met by Cesar, our butler, who took us on a presentation of the room and hotel facilities. One our second day he surprised us by drawing us a Jacuzzi with bubbles and flowers, along with leaving behind some gifts for us. Just awesome! The staff goes out of their way to welcome you. We always received a smile & hola whenever we passed by a staff member. The room was beautiful and big. We had a nice pool view and were close to the main lobby and the restaurants. We ended up only eating at the steakhouse, sea & sea and the main buffet. We really liked the steakhouse but the seafood at the sea & sea wasn’t much to our liking. We were surprised at the quality of food at the main buffet, Flavors; it was definitely above average food with a huge selection for a buffet . I loved that they had fresh spinach & carrot juice for breakfast along with the made to order omelets. My first impression of the resort was not completely favorable as when we first arrived (via getting dropped at a different hotel first- not the Majestic's fault but the fault of Blue Travel who I would NOT recommend) we were told that they had overbooked and we were being put in a different room that was not what we booked. We had booked a room in […] the Club Elegance side with two beds. We were put in a room on the Majestic side with a king bed. As we had a butler, James, he explained the situation to us and we were given $100 voucher for the resort and promised that when the room we had booked became available we would be moved. They also brought in a second bed (literally a bed...no cot). We spent two nights in the incorrect room and then moved to the one we reserved. In addition, to the voucher we were able to keep all the alcohol that came in both rooms. It was inconvenient but they did correct our issue. Other than the room mix up this was a WONDERFUL resort. The staff was nice. Our butler, James really helped us out with any questions and secured internet cables and other odds and ends. I highly recommend taking lots and lots of dollar bills for tips though you can change bigger bills out in the casino. I thought the food was fine. I really enjoyed the Italian restaurant. We also did the Hibachi and Steak house. We ate a couple of meals on the beach for barbeques or whatever event they were holding. The pools, bali beds, and beach were amazing! Read more

Great hotel and staff! We will be going back. We opted to upgrade to the Elegance Club which we really enjoyed. "Club" members get free Wi-Fi in 3 lounge areas and a seperate pool and beach area. The pool for club members is surrounded by Bali beds which we really enjoyed and the beach area offers ample seating.
