      Well managed hotel - very friendly and accommodating staff. Food choice was somewhat limited, but adequately compensated by a variety of options in the city which is about a couple of miles away.

      Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms a bit small but clean and highly functional. Big bonus is access to excellent gym next door. Can be busy near the holiday season as they have a lot of holiday/office parties, but the noise level from the revellers has not been too bad!

      We had a wonderful time at Staden Grange. The atmosphere is relaxing with excellent hosts and terrific breakfast options that include a local flair (e.g., the oatcake). The rooms had everything we needed and then some, including a tea kettle, slippers, etc. You'll likely need a car or be willing to walk a mile or so into Buxton to stay here, but otherwise, we absolutely loved our stay.

    Originally a 16th century mansion, ivy-clad Whitley Hall Hotel is set in peaceful grounds with two lakes and fine oak trees. The hotel offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Sheffield, which is 6 miles away, and is easily accessed from the M1, which is two miles away. Meadowhall, the Peak District National Park and the cultural attractions of Sheffield are all within easy reach. Bedrooms at the hotel are of a 4-star standard. All are beautifully decorated and feature free Wi-Fi, cabled broadband and a glass of port. The two AA Rosette-awarded hotel restaurant serves outstanding food. Ample free parking on-site.
