Luxury accommodations, excellent service & cleanliness of rooms & property. Easy to access transportation to San Pedro town: boat, golf cart, bikes. Secure & beautiful location 3 mi north of town. Only drawback was the pool was cold as it was unheated & hadn't warmed up from the season yet. Beautiful surroundings & all staff were very friendly, accommodating, […] & had knowledgable recommendations on activities. I would definitely choose to stay at Coco Beach when returning to Belize. Our villa was great with poolview, full kitchen, etc. We were able to look at some of the other floor plans & would try a beachfront villa next time, with a much larger kitchen & 2 bathrooms. We loved the resort and did not have anything bad to say about the place. Very easy to rent bikes and golf carts and book excursions through the hotel. The only drawback to the place is that it is 4 miles to town and we got tired by the end of the week going that far for descent priced food and a grocery store. Resort and rooms are very nice overall. Pool is great and close proximity of dive shop is a plus. Also, restaurant on site is good and the one at resort next door (very short walk) is good especially for breakfast/lunch. However, although our room was cleaned daily (bed made/towels changed) our bathroom was only cleaned one day in four night stay (sink […] was left dirty and trash/empty bottles left in shower) and had to call twice for service as room was still was not cleaned late in the afternoon. Also, help from staff regarding dining could be better as far as quality and location (everything is not both good and close) and when asking for recommendation, I would prefer not to be told "I gave you a list, didnt you look at it". I was happy being far away from town. But if you want to go to town you can take a water taxi (Buy a 1 week pass) I prefer riding a bike on the beach. Everyone at Coco Beach resort were very helpful and very friendly!! Just breathtakingly beautiful at Coco Beach and the beach was beautiful!!! They have free kayaks to take out near the reef and you can snorkel if you like! There are restaurants on either side of the resort and a little grocery store at Captain Morgan's near by. No need to go to town. We loved to ride our bikes to Ak'Bol up the beach for morning yoga on the ocean!! Also eating at Ak'Bol is cheap and tasty! Eating at the sister resort next door (Belizian Shores) is also reasonable and pretty good. You can also order food from the gorgeous bar at Coco Beach. I highly recommend Coco Beach for anyone! Our stay at the Coco Beach Resort on Ambergris Caye, Belize was very nice. The resort is well designed with all rooms facing either the pool or the beach. The […] location is great, about 3.5 miles north of San Pedro. We always felt safe, and walked to many places including San Pedro. Water taxis are available off the hotel dock going either north or south. The Capricorn restaurant is a short walk south, and is not to be missed. The Palapa Bar is also within easy walk or water taxi, and a must see. The staff is great, the drinks big and strong, and the location amazing. Take bug spray and something to treat bug bites. If you are sensitive to insect / mosquito bites, you will want to come prepared. This is the one downside to Belize, but worth the challenge. Read more

Ambergris Caye is a quick getaway for Americans and it is also very expensive. This hotel catered to all comforts of American life at the same price! Upon arrival you are greeted at the dock and offered a cold towel. Then upon entering the office you are offered a drink. We were very pleased with our overall experience at the hotel. It was clean, quiet, and set in a beautiful location. Restaurants are within an easy walking distance, but we didn't mind since there was always a lovely breeze and we enjoy the exercise. Mambos restaurant picked us up in their water taxi service and the restaurant had wonderful ambiance […] and great food. Do not eat at O's...food was below average for a resort. The small cafe on the Cocobeach property was great for breakfast, but ran out of food every lunch hour. We did several excursions with Tuff E Nuff and had a great time, however, I would advise you to make sure they have the proper equipment on board and sufficient drinks. We brought our own snorkel gear, but other guests found the boat crew had not checked to make sure there was sufficient snortel gear stowed aboard. Also, the water they supplied us came in plastic bags and tasted like plastic. The fishing portion of our one excursion was less than thrilling, so if you are serious about catching something, you might want to look into a true fishing boat. If you are adventurous and like excercise, rent the bikes at Cocobeach; $5 for 4 hours and my girls and I had a blast riding along the beach into San Pedro. Don't expect much from town, but definitely try eating at Wet Willy's. It sits at the end of the pier overlooking the beautiful water with the ocean breeze. Rooms are clean and comfortable, some with full kitchens. Two pools, one with a rock in the center to jump off and a water slide. If you don't have kids, you could always find a quiet area by the pool where there weren't any children. This is NOT a party location. Belize is VERY quiet, so if you're looking for a party destination, go to Mexico. We […] weren't looking for nightlife, so we had an awesome time. Bike riding on the beach, kayaking, snorkeling, trips to Mayan ruins, cave tubing, laying by the pool and reading. There isn't a restaurant on site but there are a few within walking distance. Capricorn was good (and pricey), Captain Morgan's had great service and atmosphere but the food is a little bland. Palapa Bar is a mellow place to listen to Jimmy Buffet, look out at the ocean, and have a beer. In town, Elvi's is good (pricey). Wargumi's was great and cheap. Definitely buy the unlimited water taxi ticket for the week. We paid $75 each but could have talked them down (a lesson I learned later in the trip). You will want to visit San Pedro frequently during your stay and it's $5 each way without the unlimited ticket. It's 3 1/2 miles into town. You could walk it, but it's hot. We rode bikes into town and that was fun. Visit the Mayan ruins while you are there. Cave tubing was fun too. You can do them both the same day and it breaks up your lazy days by the pool. Tuff E'nuff Adventures was great. They have a booth two piers North of Coco Beach Resort. Read more
