"No Wifi - No Wake Up Call - BOOKED EARLY FLIGHT BA"
I went on business, I needed Wi-Fi, did they have it, yes, did it work, NO!!! I needed a wake up call, well that got missed, I was late for a meeting (lesson learned, never rely soley on a hotel wake-up call) Cost me extra money to stay here since I missed breakfast, missed my ride, had to use Verizons Hot Spot (bill charges!) then we were so fed up, […] we booked an early flight home. "Other than Internet speed A Solid Choice In NYC"
As the title says, the Internet speed in this hotel is like turning the clock back 5 years, in other words, sloooow. For a business traveler this is tough. I had to use my phone as a server so I could get some work done in the AM before heading out. Other than that this is a perfectly acceptable place to stay in Midtown Manhattan. Staff are helpful […] and location is central with subway and train stations within a short walk. The slow internet connection was the only factor that prevented me from giving this hotel 4 stars. I had just stayed here on business and was returning for short weekend stay Superbowl Weekend. I was very impressed with this hotel and stayed here again. Close to Penn Station and free breakfast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I think for the cost it is a fantastic place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff and clean comfortable rooms. My only problem, and you will have this in a lot of NY hotels is the noise from outside and from other guests doors slamming shut. I was on the 11th floor but felt like I was on the 2nd floor because of the noise outside. If you are from the […] city and used to sleeping with a lot of noise it is not an issue. Maybe they could put pads on the doors inside to stop the slamming? The only reason I did not give all 5's is because that to me means perfect, and what is "perfect"? "Centrally located, comfortable accomodations"
Have stayed here before and this hotel always delivers top service. Friendly and capable staff. Very clean and includes a number of room amenities. Wonderful breakfast with variety and coffee/tea available 24/7. Excellent shopping location and in walking distance of theatre. Subway access practically out the door. Safe and active neighborhood. "stop looking around and book it"
Amazing place, great service, perfect location. There is a subway station on the corner and everything is within walking distance.Pay the extra fee for the skyline view since you will get awesome views of the empire state.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was very good for shopping near Macys and times square. The elevators were slow due to fully booked. The room was small and noisy from construction in the street below.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you want quiet and comfort, go elsewhere."
If you want to be near the Herald Square/34th Street action and you don't mind staying in a crowded and noisy hotel, then this might be the place for you. The location was fine for me, but I prefer places that don't have overwhelmed desk staff, a breakfast area that's as packed as a rush hour subway train, kids running through the halls at all hours, […] and elevators for which you have to wait an extraordinarily long time. In addition, my room was icy cold. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"as close the center of manhattan as you can get"
Nice hotel - nice staff, great breakfast, validated parking around the block. Free Wifi - great Korean restaurant district - all within walking distance to Soho, Chinatown, Little Italy, the Lower East Side, Times Square and Central Park. Quiet and clean - highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was in a somewhat convenient location for what we were doing, but Christmas is definitely not the time to stay there. The staff was overwhelmed with people checking in at the same time, and wasn't able to answer our questions. There were a lot of kids running rampant around the place, which is not the hotel's fault, but it made for a less-than-pleasant […] stay (and I have three kids of my own). We had some drunk girl try to get into our room, and kept swiping her key into our door, then cursed us when she couldn't get in. There were people slamming doors until all hours of the night, and the walls are so paper-thin that you could hear the tv in the next room. We usually stay in mid-town, so staying this far down was new to us. Lesson learned: never book a room south of 50th Street! BTW - very poor signage out front; our cab driver couldn't find the place because it's sandwiched between two other hotels with much bigger signage. Plus the bed was incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"breakfast time is a nightmare"
The hotel was overall great, good location, clean, updated, however our family booked this particular hotel because of the included breakfast, as it would save us both time stopping to eat at a busy new york restaurant and save us money too. The food itself was fine, however the area served in is VERY tiny and always overcrowded. It took us upwards […] of an hour to get our food, find a seat and eat it. The breakfast hours are supposed to end at 10am, but they'd end them for guests and instead serve a whole fresh breakfast for all of the staff to come in and eat. For those of us who may have come downstairs around 9:30, there was rarely food left and it was discouraging to see them let the guest food run out while they then served new breakfast for employees. The waffle makers make great waffles, but were very backed up every morning. I'd suggest they have waffles made at another station by staff members instead. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel within walking distance to Macy's"
The family went to New York to see Santa, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and to see the Rockettes. The hotel was close enough to walk to 5th Ave, Madison Ave and Radio City Music Hall. The hotel was nice, not great but better than a lot of other hotels. The room was smaller but it wasn't terribly small. Our room had a view of the Empire State […] building which was a nice sight. The front desk staff was outstanding and the FREE breakfast was very good. We would stay here again if we go back to New York. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

While the location is good (subway 20 yds from front door) & staff pleasantly helpful, this Hampton Inn needs attention: AC in room faulty, cracked tile in shower, mold on curtain & we spotted a MOUSE scurry across the ground floor dining area (as a result, we DID NOT avail ourselves of the "free breakfast." Great location! Friendly staff, room was clean and quiet. Great breakfast! All at a reasonable price for NYC. Will definitely stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place for Family Visit"
It was the perfect location for our visit to NYC with younger children. Close to what we wanted to see, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, easy parking, and more than adequate breakfast and coffee bar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was on 2nd floor over entrance and there were very loud noises from trucks on side street until after 12:30 am. Convenient to Broadway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Spot for the price"
Was an excellent hotel!! All i can say is free breakfast -- it was awesome and just what you need after a night of NYC partying. The location was great one block to Macy's maybe 3 blocks to Time Square on foot. I will definitively be back-- free wifi and gym if you into thatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location - well kept hotel - tiny rooms"
Would definitely stay here again. Clean, well kept - but definitely the smallest room we've ever stayed in with two double beds. Great breakfast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was clean and staff friendly. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee/tea as it was a chilly day!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Still waiting for elevlator"
Well located near Herald Square. Room was comfortable and clean. Price was fair given location and quality. Issues were with elevator - it was a guaranteed 5 minute wait each and every time, so I took the stairs and the breakfast area - too many people in too small an area and the staff couldn't keep the food replenished and the area got trashed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location fair accommodations."
Great mid town location. Can't be beat! The bad: maid service in consistent and toilet didn't flush well. Breakfast in morning helps start your day to maximize your time in new York and izakaya restaurant next door and roof top bar are awesome!Genuine Expedia guest review

Smallest Hampton Inn I ever stayed in. However, it was comfortable, clean and the breakfast buffet was very good. The staff was very good - friendly, responsive, efficient.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was very conveniently located to all the things we wanted to do. Just minutes from the Empire State Building. The room was a little small but worked well for us. Having a hot breakfast every morning was a great help.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly and Helpful"
I stayed at the Hampton Inn for Electric Zoo music festival. One day the room service threw out my parking garage voucher and the front desk was wonderful and helped me woth the garage to avoid extra fees. Staff was friendly and no matter who it was always asked of I needed anything. My girlfriend and I were stunne that a chain hotel had quality service […] as such! Would have been 5 stars but they were re doing the front of hotel and construction started early! But outside of there it was a great stay and the continental breakfast got us ready for the long days of dancing! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all NY Attraction, but Service not great."
We chose this hotel because it was so close to many NYC attractions---2 blocks away from Times Square, Empire State Bldg around the corner; Many food carts nearby; Top of the Rock near by. Subway stop was next door. Bryant Park was a few blocks away. However, the room was very small, which was typical of NYC hotels. The towels and sheets had some black […] marks on them, which led me to believe they weren't that clean. Clayton (manager?) was one of the only staff members who were helpful and friendly. The rest of the staff was awful---very rude, provided misinformation on basic NYC information, etc. Towels and sheets were thrown on our bed, rather than the staff actually making our bed or putting the towels in the bathroom. Not sure if I would choose this hotel again. Like I said, Clayton was the only part of the hotel that was great. Other than that, it was terrible service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Place for Family Vacation"
We have stayed at this Hampton several times, because it's a wonderful location for everything. There is a subway just outside the door, Harold Square right across the street and a very clean room and a free breakfast as well. We will always stay at this location because of the reasonable cost and great location for everything that we like to do.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"small room but great"
The room was small but very nice. The only thing it was missing was a mini-fridge. Also I was very disappointed in the bagels they had for breakfast. You would think in New York City they would get better bagels and not just frozen bagels. But overall a great place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convient, with friendly staff, but room was tiny"
The Hampton inn was what we expected in every way, with a decent location near some key sites and central to any itinerary routing. the breakfast was decent with fresh waffles and standard hot food fare. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downsides are the very tiny rooms, hallways, and thin walls. Whole nicely decorated, we had no view at […] all except for a no building that, we had to close the window all the time for privacy. Hallways are very narrow, and neighbors kept us up making noise into the early hours.... but we chalk all that up to giving us a NYC experience! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
