it was great they allowed us to check in a little early . We were only there for one night we came for a show and did'nt want to drive home after. The room was great the BED was so comfortable everything was great .WILL BE STAYING AGAIN

Gulf breezes were soft, temperature was mild. I like going to Panama City in the winter. Crowds weren't large, it wasn't too hot like in can be in August and the price was right!

The room was nice and walked right out to the patio where the pool was and right down to the beach. The view of the ocean was wonderful and we were on the first floor. The only issue we had was that it rained the entire time we were there so I could not walk on the beach. Not the fault of the hotel. The room was clean and I believe they are doing some updating. I would have stayed longer except for the weather. I would go there again.
"Keep looking for a place to stay...Skip this place"
"Resort" has sign on Front Beach Road but property is behind grocery store. Lock Boxes containing keys for room are on the opposite side of grocery store and pharmacy complex and completely out of the way. Checking in required a trip 8 miles from "resort", trip to lock box - where 2 others families were attempting to get into lock box but given the […] wrong codes to use. When these families called the number given on the signage next to the lock boxes they were told they would also have to travel 8 miles to Shores of Panama (really nice resort!) to go through the same process i had just went through. The bunk beds were for those 5' and under. The "matress" on the foldout couch was 2" thick and some of the boards on the couch frame were broken. Room was clean and pool facilities were nice. There were contridictory signs posted at the pool gates stating no food or drink were allowed in the pool area. The pool area had vending machines present inside the gaits... We never did figure that one out. It was quite a walk to the beach 20 - 25 min as the only beach access was a couple blocks in either direction from the actual sign for the resort on Front Beach Road. Damage waiver of sixty dollars was a crock but heard it is almost universal in PCB area. We met one couple that said they had purposely stayed there more than once other than that everyone we talked to said it was their first and last time at Cabana Cay. Our recent stay at Cabana Cay was mostly a sad disappointment unfortunately. I will start off by saying that the grounds and pool of the resort were absolutely wonderful! The location was good and we had a hassle free, pleasant check-in. We were all a little worried though, because there were many unhappy guests in the lobby while we were checking in. […] When we made it to the room, we realized why. The condo was a huge disappointment! The room was dirty and the carpet and furniture were in very bad condition. "Short Stay"
Over all the room was OK but the Dishwasher is Dirty. Dishes dirty had to wash them before use. Pillows where dirty. The extra charge was not a good thing. 140 dollars at the check in for cleaning and insurance. if they clean it was a shock to use, Staff was slow to respond to wild life in the pool area. The hot tubs where dirty. the soda machines are […] not in great working order and the soda was out of date, The elevators needed to be cleaned there was blood and food on the walls. "Don't let the pool pics or description fool you!!!"
The property itself is beautiful. However its location is a dissappointment. The condo is located behind a Winn-Dixie and migrating to the beach is no simple task. Sure its not a long walk but traffic is bad requiring the use of crosswalks then you have to walk another 300 yds to the public beach access spot between two other condo properties all while […] carrying all your stuff. The description listed is slightly misleading and without close investigation or observance of a map you as the guest are lead to believe the property is beachfront. Well its very far from it. Secondly all the TVs were old style CRT projection with a small 28-30" in the living room and a ridiculously tiny 10 or 12" in the bedroom. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and another huge inconvenience was that the thermostat in the room does not provide the guest with 100% temperature control. For example I like to sleep the AC on 69 degrees well even if you set the thermostat to 69 in will not keep the AC on long enough to get to that temperature. It was like it was computer bypassed to not allow it to get any cooler then 73 or so at night. The condo itself was very clean though and the pool area was both large and beautiful....of course the view was that of a nice sandy field or ditch. I think worst of all was that the property does not have Wifi. Its 2012 there is absolutely no excuse to operate any form of vacation venue without full wifi access for your guests. "Love the area very much."
Our stay was ok, but.....the bed frame was dusty, the comforter had an old smell to it as if it was not washed. The shower curtain has mildew, when you step in the shower the bottom was sticky which means it was not cleaned with scrubs just that they run water through it instead to rid the dirt and whatever. The kitchen cabinet were sticky. Your furniture […] are not the best, very uncomfortable. Walls were dirty /stains, could use touch up paint. This place could really be an amazing place if you had a cleaning staff who knew how to clean. Also, you should have them clean the elevators periodically with all the traffic you have. I say this because there was blood stains in the elevator on the back side for 2 days and folks tend to lean up on the back of the elevator, so it should be washed out. "Wait 'til YOU see the inside."
When we arrived at the resort, we were impressed of the view from the outside. The area was extremely convenient for everything. Beautiful grounds, beautiful pool. Until we went inside the condo: The condo was suppose to be a "no smoking" area, as we entered the condo, the condo wreeks of old stale smoke. A cigarette butt left in the toilet was evident […] someone did not care about the room policy. Which is too bad! The condo was not vacuumed. The living room couch was old, filthy and dirty that we used one of the comforters to cover the couch. The walls and the bunkbed were severely stained. Two of the four dinner chairs were barely there and we were afraid to sit on them, in fear of them breaking and injuring ourselves. As far as the kitchen, there was only one tall glass in the cubboard. The worse part of our stay, was, when my daughter found an old condom wrapper in the main bedroom. "It's nice but has its problems"
Cabana Cay I stayed two nights, the price was ok; Monday and Tuesday, check out wednesday 10 am; really! Ten in the morning? Then you have pay for the room to be cleaned and some sort of room insurance, Front desk service is ok except the one employee doesn't answer phone call and the front desk is only open 8-4. The other employees are useless, […] I asked one guy if he worked there, he stared at me. The rooms nice; one queen and two bunk beds, two bathrooms, one full, nice furniture, appliances, washer and dryer, tv in living room is small and old, tv in main bedroom is even smaller and older. I didn't know they made TV's that small. No Wi-Fi, seriously, it's the 22nd century, what! We're still in the 21st century? But seriously, who doesn't have Wi-Fi these days. The pool is real nice; open from 9am to 10pm; very large, cut in two sections; there are two jacuzzis, didn't use them but they look nice. The beach is very nice and only a minutes walk across from the hotel. All in all I would go back, and at the same time I'll do more research to find something maybe a little better; it's a difficult decision because there are good things and there are annoying things.thanks. First of all, I was staying here with a couple of friends for Memorial Day weekend. I thought the price of the room was good for the quality of the room (private bedroom) and other sleeping places for my chums. The pool was HUGE as well. However, that's about all there was to it. The location is farther from the beach than they would lead you to believe. […] It's a good walk across hot road to get to the beach. Second, you have to pay a cleaning fee, which I could tolerate that. However, THEY DON"T HAVE ROOM SERVICE UNTIL YOU CHECK OUT! You pay a cleaning fee and have to take our your own garbage, rinse your own dishes, and essentially start the work of the cleaning crew for them. That just seems silly to me. It was not a short walk to the beach. Its was a very long and frustrating walk. We could not even drive because there was no where to park the car. We had to pay a 40.00 damage fee and was told that we would not get this back even if there was nothing damaged. Also we had to pay like 118.00 cleaning fee that was also not aware off. And what about that sheet that we had to use to inspect the condo with. this place was disgusting! Paid a cleaning fee for a dirty condo. There was a hand print on our wall and the fridge was still filthy! The toaster had rust in it. The sofa bed still had crumbs in it. This place did not allow guests and did not warn others about this policy beforehand. Guests were charged $25 a day and had to be off the premise at 10 pm. Being Spring Break and in college, this was absurd and turned off the idea of me and all my friends staying there again. It felt more like being supervised in prison with these visiting hours than […] Spring Break and enjoying the times with my friends. I was also wrongly informed about a security deposit for which i was charged $500 instead of the $140 I was informed of when I called a month before arriving on the trip. The grounds were illy maintained with rusted paint, a swampy mosquito filled creek in between the only two buildings, and was located in the parking lot behind Winn Dixie's. After arriving and voicing my complaints, I kept being told there was nothing they could do. I later drove to Oaseas offices and was upgraded to a better room and partially refunded for my security deposit, but it took that much drastic action to get any response from this company. This is a huge complex located behind a grocery store complex on Front Beach Rd. The per night was reasonable but they hit you up for damage deposit (we are seniors staying a couple of nights) and a $75.00 cleaning fee. It would have been better to have stayed at the Holiday Inn.
