Hotel Plaza - Sorrento

Very convenient location set just far enough away from the heavy foot and auto traffic of the main street to maintain a quiet and serene atmosphere. Ten minute walk to the ferries and two minute walk to restaurants and popular shopping area. The entire premises as well as our room were spotlessly clean. The room itself was spacious by European standards […] and the space allocated to bathroom and shower was exceptional. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing with dozens and dozens of items to choose from including multiple fresh fruits, eggs, meats, pastries, and desserts. Though a couple of the desk clerks demonstrated a formality which some might consider bordering on "stuffy", most were friendly and all were attentive and very helpful with directions and other needs. Interior decor is a little more ultra-modern that we normally lean towards but the overall hotel experience was one of the best we have ever had. Read more

The Hotel Plaza was a most enjoyable stop. It is located just off the main square in Sorrento and is no more than a 10 minute walk to the train station. The room was large and after the other European hotels I have stayed in it seemed quite spacious. Another pleasant surprise was the bathroom which was good sized, had shelf space and had a full tub/shower […] combination, something I have not seen anywhere else in Europe. It was a real pleasure to get away from the typical cramped European hotel room. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was just okay (an overabundance of cakes and sweets). There are lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. And of course Sorrento itself was quite beautiful. Our hotel stay was great. The hotel is in a great location. You can walk from the train station to the hotel with a view of the ocean from our room. Only surprise: a small fee required to be paid upon checkout that was required to be in cash (nominal fee....but did not know about it until checkout).

Not an old hotel with atmosphere, but you will be exceptionally confortable here and a short walk from most everything worth seeing.
