Great hotel in the middle of everything. Central bus stop a few minutes away. Good food and shopping all around the hotel. Hotel is near many historic sites.

We picked this place for just an overnight stay on the road because it was the cheapest option we saw. Much to our surprise it was very nice. It had a scenic setting just north of the Karavanke mountains. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the owners were friendly. It is definitely a place we would consider again for a weekend getaway.

We are still raving about the unbeliveable service and fabulous rooms at the Villa Bled. The staff are the consumate professionals, from the waiters to the concierge to the friendly housekeeping staff. Despite their commitment to service and pride in working in Tito's former summer home, they are also real and friendly, not servile. We were ready to invite the concierge to come on the rest of our holiday with us, we enjoyed his informative discussion of the hotel so much. The rooms are terrific--massive, James-Bond cool, and super glamorous in the best Mad Men kind of way. The grounds are gorgeous and impressive, the row boats looked great, and you can walk 20 yards to Lake Bled where you get a boat to the marvelous little island church. The Sunday brunch was amazing (Champagne! Eggs to order! Food as far as the eye can see!) and the Monday brunch was great (Eggs to order!). We loved the restaurant for dinner. They were so patient with our busy 1 year old. I can't rave enough!

We stopped overnight in Klagenfurt on the way to Venice. The train station and bus stop are roughly 500 yards away. 10-15 min walk to cute town center. Convenient. Nice breakfast.
