The selling point of this hotel is its location. It is on Peace Blvd right near the best part of the city for going out at night. Great for sightseeing, great for eating, great for going out drinking. Also, the hotel itself was pretty nice, and the staff was friendly. But the room we were in was just weird. This is a very nice hotel. The staff is very helpful, and the guest rooms are moderately large, by Japanese standards. It is not located close to the railway station, but is accessible by an economical taxi ride. The location is excellent, however, because it is walking distance from the memorials--the principal reason for visiting Hiroshima. The Oriental Hotel in Hiroshima is an excellent choice located in downtown near the Peace Park. Large for Japan, comfortable rooms, very helpful staff, great bar, and very lavish breakfast. Only draw back is it is a fairly short cab ride from the train station.

Was there for a week in June, the service was excellent, the room was clean, I stayed on one of the upper floors so I think the rooms are a little bigger, mine had lots of room and nice shower/tub. The hotel was great, nice rooms, nice employees but Hiroshima is a difficult location as everything is so spread out. Not much around the hotel either but it's within a three-four block walking distance from the major alley ways that has shopping and restaurants. Overall loved the hotel but had to take a taxi from the JR/Shinkansen station to and from […] the hotel (distance was too far) and then either walked or took the streetcar around. A comfortable hotel. Staff were very pleasant to deal with, holding our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. The room was of average size and perfectly clean and functional, but the decore was a little dated. The view over Peace Avenue was nice. Do not listen to the train station information staff and take the tram to the hotel and walk, unless you enjoy walking past brothels and being harassed to come inside from people on the street. The Oriental was a nice place to stay. The room was spacious and provided plenty of room for luggage. The hotel is in a good location and places to eat can be found with just a little walk. Its walking distance to the peace park and the peace museum Its also walking distance to Hiroshima station if you dont mind a bit of a walk ( about 20 minutes)

Look- this place is the cheapest hotel you'll find in central hiroshima with the nicest rooms and lobby etc. The staff all mostly speak english. Room service is great. No english tv channels, but you can catch bilingual movies on weekends. 10min walk to the centre of town + the peace museum. Love love love the hotel.

Oriental Hotel Hiroshima is a short taxi ride from the train station. It's a great place to be situated especially if you are there on the weekend with bars and restaurants just around the block. The hotel has a lovely bar with a great bar tender! Easy access to all the famous Hiroshima sights.

We booked this hotel as part of a last minute change in travel plans. It was the only hotel in Hiroshima that had vacancy (and it only had 1 room left). The fact that they had a room and it was affordable was enough to get 5 stars in my book! But the hotel itself was very nice. It was in a great area, not far from the shopping arcade, maybe a 15-20 […] minute walk from Peace Park and a Memorial Peace Museum, and about a 900 yen cab ride from the station. It has two restaurants on the 1st floor, one I believe was french (didn't eat there) and the other was New York themed. I recommend their burgers! They also had live music several nights out of the week. The staff was very friendly. Most of them speak pretty decent English but won't hesitate to switch over to let you practice your Japanese skills! The room was VERY small. It was clean but I wouldn't call it pretty. But it was fine for the 2 nights we were there. May have been too much to handle if we had stayed longer. All in all, I would recommend it to future travelers. We enjoyed our time in Hiroshima!
