The accomodations were good, but what really stood out was how accomodating the desk staff were. We needed the airport shuttle and our flight arrived REALLY late. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in getting us to the hotel, despite the fact that the shuttle service had ended. They were even better when we came back to stay there the night before […] our flight home and I hadn't thought to let them know we needed a shuttle at 4:30AM. Despite the fact that it was already late at night John arranged transportation for us and was utterly gracious despite the lack of forethought on my part. We booked our original room on hotels.com and they gave us an accessible room. We called the hotel to add an adjoining room (my mom decided to join us). When we arrived, my mom went into her room and we went into ours. As soon as we stepped in, we saw someone else's stuff all over the room. We quickly closed the door and went into my mom's room. We […] left my mom and the kids there and went downstairs. We told the guy at the front desk and he seemed very surprised. He went to the office and there was some scrambling around and they went up to the room and took all of the person's stuff out and gave us the room. There was a smokey smell and we told the manager (who came to give us the new room key) and she assured me that the people in the room weren't smokers (hmmmm....how did she know?). It turned out they had just burned a bag of popcorn in the microwave. Being 4th of July weekend, there weren't any other adjoining rooms available for us, so we just stayed in that room. I had to ask for them to clean the room and wash the duvet covers at least to get the smell out. The smell lingered over the course of the 3 days. The breakfast was good and so was the breakfast service. The woman that runs the breakfast room is a very hard worker. Be forewarned if you are in need of a handicapped accessible room. Checked in pretty late and appreciated the staff checking me in quickly while still informing me of all the hotel offered. overall a very nice place to stay. we were only staying there because we had an early flight out of wilmington and it is literally 5 minutes from the airport. The AC in our room was extremely loud and seemed to have to kick on every 15 minutes. I am not a light sleeper however i found myself laying in bed thinking how loud this AC is.

I'd been to Wilmington before, but hadn't stayed in this particular hotel. We arrived during the day so we'd already been in our room for a couple of hours before we realized the only working lights were in the bathroom and entry. The bedside lamp didn't even have a lightbulb! I went down to the front desk and asked for someone to come look at the room […] or at least for a lightbulb. The desk clerk said there was no one available to come to the room and he handed me 2 light bulbs he wasn't even sure were new. I asked for a new room--one was not offered--and the clerk reluctantly found us another one. Once we switched to a room with working lights, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable, it is what I am used to at home but didn't expect at the rate I got. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the pool tiles had mildew all over them and the "fitness center" was a hallway they decided to throw 2 treadmills in, and those were the two reasons I chose the hotel in the first place. We stayed there on our way driving through Wilmington and were positively surprised from the first minute on. The location is near perfect: it's only a block or 2 away from the main highway (17), so you get there quickly on your way through and yet it is stunningly quiet and you can hear the birds in the woods, a Target is on the other side of the street, […] so you can buy whatever you want to have for dinner and is microwaveable (a microwave and fridge are in the room), the complimentary breakfast offers everything one needs, as far as we are concerned, service is really friendly and I appreciate the fact that it is locally owned. Very Quit and settled in the corner of some woods. Didn't like where the pool was located...it should have been took away but was located on the 1st floor where people went to the conference rooms. When you stepped into the shower, the tub was very high up...so be CAREFUL when stepping out and could really hurt yourself.

This hotel location is less than 10 minutes from the Wilmington Airport but yet yet off the beaten path enought for the rooms to offer peace and quiet. The breakfast was hot and filling with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and waffles. Other items included cold and hot cereal and pastries. Hotel was very clean and would certainly stay again.
