"Right at the Birmingham Airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
Clean, bare necessity type of property within 100 meters of the Birmingham airport. Easy walk after a long flight. This is not the Ritz but for easy, reasonable travel, I would highly recommend. By the way, ample room within the room for two people and their luggage unlike many other airport or downtown transient properties. VERY quiet too.
"Great location and fun staff"Reviewed by Norman T of "Dallas" on Apr 14, 2012
Super convenient... really enjoyed Lloyd who made things fun in the bar...comfortable and great option...
"Nice stay"Reviewed by Chelsea A of "San Francisco, CA" on Apr 12, 2012
The hotel is very centrally located and has a car park (that you have to pay to park in). Wifi is available, you also pay for that. The lobby is very nice with multiple fireplaces where you can have drinks, dine, or enjoy afternoon day (prices seemed reasonable to us). Very short walk to RSC theatres, restaurants, shops, etc. The room was huge that we stayed in, not sure if that is typical, but it was nice. No complaints except they didn't really tell us we needed to pay for parking. The parking cost wasn't bad though.
"Ibis Birmingham Airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 30, 2012
For those travelling to attend NEC, this is the best located hotel for you. With a good restaurant, bar in hotel and 24 hrs restaurant in the Airport, nothing like Ibis. Good luck..
"A beautiful getaway in a beautiful location."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 28, 2012
It was a beautiful setting, a great photo opportunity, a fantastic back yard to enjoy an English tea, and nice modern rooms. All the staff were so nice. We had a great experience sleeping in a castle and hope to return some time.

Hotel is definately not a 4 star property. The rooms are simple, clean and basic e.g. cheap fittings. The bathrooms are exceptionally small and feature a shower, toilet and wash-hand basin. There are signs behind the bathroom door to say that 'Excessive use of the shower will cause flooding' - essentially, there are no doors on the showeres and no drainage […] in the open area which means that water does seep out across the floor. Hotel staff (particulalry the Receptionist) are friendly. Read more
"Indian theme"
As part of the Ramada hotel gruop, expected a chic comtemporary environment, but was is an Indian theme throughtout the hotel right into your bedroom.
"A hidden gem in Birmingham"
I booked this hotel at the last minute because it included breakfast in the deal. I found it to be really accessable to the motorway, exceptionally clean and for the staff, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean, comfortable and imaginitively decorated. Although I did not have an evening meal the menu looked really good. Breakfast […] was individually cooked. The hotel is situated off a main road and so it was very easy to get into the city centre. "Good for Business Trips"
If you're on Business, it's a good hotel to stay in. The Indian food is fantastic and the hotel has everything you would need, except Sky Sports. The bed is a bit hard and I've seen far better standard for a 4* hotel, but it's still okay, though.
"Tool 1.5hrs to check in!!!"
Arrived at 11:30pm and they lost my information, so ended up taking 30mins to fill in all the paperwork etc. Then I get a phone call at about 12:30am!! Telling me that I need to bring my driving licence to be photocopied. This ended up taking another hour as he needed to reconfirm my booking with hotels.com (forwarding him conformation emails etc). Told […] the manager in the morning about it and she did not care at all. Looks like the "new ramada" are no way nearly as good as the old ones!. Read more
"Nice stay."
Comfortable. Quite clean. Nice breakfast. Only problem we had was a blocked bathroom sink. Would stay here again!
"Ramada Birmingham Oldbury"
My room was clean but in need of some slight DIY improvements. These were minor but not what you would expect in a 4* hotel. One of the spotlights flashed on and off and when I called for assistance, I was told that the technician had gone home so no-one was around the change the lightbulb. It was suggested that I turn the lights off and use the lamps […] instead. The lamp next to where I was working had an annoying buzz. Read more

Arrived in the snow, thankfully plenty of parking available.. Clean room with a large bed, pillows could be of a better standard but still slept fairly well.. Freshly cooked breakfast which was very good.. Decided to have an evening meal here, I had scollops and mussels starter very poor, The scallops were smaller than my thumb nail, main course rack […] of lamb, the veg were cooked to perfection but ever mouthful was pure fat, my husband had the mixed grill where everything was over cooked and burnt... All in all a comfortable stay just don't eat there in the evening.. Read more
"Ramada Hotel - Oldbury, West Mids"
Needed a cheap hotel .... and quick, Found this hotel on hotels.com and booked it. Looked quite sparce when we got there, one door boarded up which was a concern. Got checked in and got a disabled room!!!! No objections, but the hand basin stands less than 3 ft from the floor. I'm 6'2" and brushing you teeth is a struggle, as is swilling your face […] with water! Restaurant was Indian/Continental and made up for the room issues. Great food, great selection, fresh and tasty. Will definately stay there again, but I will avoid room 9. Definately reccomended. Read more
"Ramada Hotel Oldbury"
The room was lovely, just that the bed was low, not enough pillows and was very awkward to watch tv.
"Ramada -Oldbury"
Excellent value, free wi-fi, friendly staff, clean comfortable room, close to M5. Did not try restaurant.

"Great hotel no complaints whatsoever"
Breakfast lovely, room comfortable and clean, everything was 100%.
"Good value - excellent location"
Great hotel, very nice rooms and all clean and very professional. Use regularly.
"The ramada Hotel, Oldbury - close to all our needs"
We were very impressed with our welcome by the very friendly staff. The cost of the two day stay was extremely good value which included bed and breakfast. The only small negative was in our opinion the the room was a bit on the small side and the bed very hard. The restaurant more than comprensated for this as the food prepared and served was without […] doubt the very best we have had in a long long time. I must also add that the restaurant staff were particularily good. Read more

"snotty receptionist checking me in"
Snotty young girl at reception when I checked in, room tiny, shower a mere hole, Im 6" and average weight (not over weight or obese ) and had problems fitting into it. room barely fitted the bed. breakfast was ok and service in restaurant.
"One star short of four."
Whilst a clean hotel, this hotel is certainly not a four star establishment. The surrounding area is run-down, but conveniently located just off to the Motorway. Despite this the hotel still seems desperately quite for a Ramada in this area. The décor seems quite new and has an Indian theme. Whilst pleasant, it is difficult to understand the reasoning […] behind the theme, unless you have visited the on site restaurant, (which seems very under utilised) The furniture in the rooms is tired, and worn but functional, whilst the complimentary consumables provided seem cheap and on a par with that provided in a budget chain. The lack of quality, is made up for by a fast free WiFi connection though. The beds are comfortable, however the option of more bedding in the rooms would have been appreciated. Baths maybe available in other rooms, however my suite only provided a shower facility, and a weak shower at that. During check-in the reception seemed pleasant and helpful, however, I didn't appreciate having to seek assistance from the meek member of staff, when welcomed by an empty desk during checking-out. All in all, a reasonable hotel, at a reasonable price, but don't be fooled by the four stars. Read more

"Ramada Oldbury - good value"
Nice hotel, well maintained, good service.
"Overnight stay (room only)"
Was on top floor (3rd) and did not encounter any noise from the party going on. Stayed room only, so cannot comment on food. Ideally situated for football at The Hawthorns and only 6 miles from Merry Hill shopping centre. Would stay again and recommend
"WARM AND FRESH"

"Becoming a regular"
This was my third stay at this hotel in two months. On every occassion there has been confusion about the booking, but the reception staff are clearly used to this and do their utmost to sort it out on arrival. They were also very accomodating with our changing rooms on the last night of the stay. As always we stayed 'bed and breakfast', and this really […] is amazing value - the buffet breakfast bar is a great way to start the day. Knowing the area better we found we didn't use the hotel restaurant for evening meals on this occassion. While the restaurant (Indian/Continental) is pretty good and accomodating to special dietary requirements, and also has a great loyalty scheme, it is overshadowed by two amazingly good external restaurants (an Indian and an Italian) within easy walking distance, that work out cheaper and have a better menu. Again having a little more local knowledge and experience of this hotel, this time we utilised the 24hour Asda across the road, to avoid the woefully inadequate and expensive room service. As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms certainly do not live up to the star rating, being very small and basic - think Travel Lodge), having no cooler or bath (shower only) etc. All of that said, this is still the cheapest option of anything even vaguely comparible in the area, the staff do their best to accomodate and are always friendly, and the general atmosphere of the place is personal and welcoming. So in conclusion - ignore the star rating - think basic accomodation, and you will actually find this to be a brilliant option and quite unbelievably good value for money given the very cheap net rates. "Great value for money"
This is certainly no luxury hotel, but it really is fantastic value for money so long as you book in advance and take on the web deals. The rooms are small and the bathrooms minimal - think Travel Lodge standard, only without a bath. Reception are very helpful and accomodating with anything you might require, but make sure that they check any advice […] given regarding your reservation, payment terms, conditions etc., as they seem to be a little confused by web bookings. They have an offer of a 'free gift pack' if you join their mailing list - be aware this is a bottle of water and a chocolate bar, so only join the list if you actually want the information. The bar is comfortable enough, if a little pricey, but has no nearby smoking facility, so it is necassary to go back down through recepton and into the car park to smoke. The restaurant offers an Indian menu, or a European menu, and the food is pretty good, service excellent, and the chef very accomodating if you want to go off menu. They have a loyalty card scheme for the restaurant, that works out very useful if you are planning to stay regularly. The only criticism of the restaurant really is that there is a better and cheaper indian restaurant just a few hundred yeards down the road, and their opening hours can be a bit limited. Facilities for smokers are zero - no shelter is available, you must use the car park if you want to smoke. Our room had most of the TV channels tuned out, though I suspect this is something reception could have sorted out if I had been bothered enough to ask. Room service food is minimal choice, and hugely overpriced, but there is a 24 hour Asda just across the road, so no reason to go hungry. The above may sound critical, but it needs to be compared with the price when booked online. Having stayed in several hotels in the area, there is no other choice at this price that even comes close to being comparable - I will be staying here on a regular basis in the future and would rec Read more
"Ramada Oldbury Birmingham"
Not happy because upon arrival and having booked a double room for myself, I was allocated a twin room. When I complained I was told no more rooms available. The booking was confirmed as a double and I paid at the point of sale. I was told (next morning) that there was a fault on the hotel's booking system. Result was poor night's sleep and stiff neck […] in the morning! Breakfast was OK - I dont think sausages had ever seen any real meat (gross) and guests are confined to a domestic toaster! Staff in restaurant generally helpful. Convenient location for M5 though traffic to roundabout is a bit chaotic in the mornings. My advice would be to try another hotel in the area. Read more
"Ramada, Oldbury - all Black Country sights closeby"
The hotel is Indian owned and run and this is reflected in the sumptuous decor and the excellent restaurant. Despite being located alongside a busy dual carriageway and within sight of the M5, the hotel is well insulated from any traffic noise. Staff were friendly and helpful and the bedrooms apart from being compact were comfortable and well furnished. […] The food was very good but steer well clear of the coffee! The surroundings are pretty dreary but if you're looking for a very accessible relaxing place just to eat and sleep for a couple of days or so, this hotel is well worth considering. Read more
"Ramada Birmingham Oldbury"
Overall good, good breakfast but noisy location and able to hear a club nearby until about 0300 so not a brilliant night sleep. Also wedding which meant guests coming and going in car park. Overall, noisy.

"nice helpful staff but mold problems"
ok hotel standard with friendly helpful staff but the hotel has a mold problem with thick layer of mold in some parts of the corridor! Once you then get the smell of mold in your nose it's difficult to ignore, probably not to healthy either,
