Hotel is definately not a 4 star property. The rooms are simple, clean and basic e.g. cheap fittings. The bathrooms are exceptionally small and feature a shower, toilet and wash-hand basin. There are signs behind the bathroom door to say that 'Excessive use of the shower will cause flooding' - essentially, there are no doors on the showeres and no drainage […] in the open area which means that water does seep out across the floor. I have never stayed in a disorganised hotel. took them 30 minutes to find booking. The hotel was not run in a professional manner. The lift was frezzing so was the lobby. the lift made a banging noise so we didn't use it as it scared the kids. The hallway to rooms stunk of smoke. Wish I had read the reviews before I booked this hotel for a 2 night stay whilst on business in the area. I accept you get what you pay for but It was advertised as a 4 star Ramada and it certainly is not that. Reminded me of a prison from the outside and inside wasn't much better, tiny rooms that were poorly lit and in need of some decoration. Poor hotel, which is in need of a refurb! rooms where decent size with big beds, however paint drops on caparts on walls are noe the desired effect i was looking for! beakfast was ok, service was poor and dirty cutlery is a big no no in my book. Attatude of reception semed like did not want to be there at all. Asked for a late checkout and he just […] pointed at a notice which said for an extra hour it would cost an extra £20 and eztra 2 hours would be £25 it would be £25. Which annoyed me as the check out was cut short to11am!! The main reason for using this hotel again other than for road convenience is the Fantsatic Lamb Chops on the menu! However the experience elsewhere was poor! Apparently the epos system broke down meaning the kitchen got our orders late. In asking to see the Manager midway through the meal i was told at the end of the meal when asking again that he […] had left!!! My room had no plug for the sink! No top seat to the toilet! In the shower the shower was on the floor because the attachment which it should be in at a height was broken. Oh! i almost forgot when i arrived there was no room allocated although the 4 colleagues with me who arrived early all had rooms. In fact i was lucky to get the last room. The hotel itself was very nice and cleaned to a high standard. Need to cross a very busy road to reach supermarket, pub and italian restaurant. However, upon arrival we received appauling treatment from the receptionist, who could muster no more than a grunt, didn't once even look at us, and was conatantly rolling his eyes. Rooms were old and smelt, area was dodgy and full of workmen. Bed was hard and uncomfortable the whole hotel looked unkept and the rooms were not clean at all. Area is not in Birmingham and we couldn't wait to get out of there! Breakfast basic and far from tasty.

We chose the Ramada to be close to the Bethel Conference Centre and as we had not stayed there before. Not brilliant curb appeal, but welcoming entrance hall and lift access to rooms. Room was quite spacious, an extra large double bed; modern, clean fully tiled shower room and free wifi a bonus! When we booked in we were told that it was room only, when the stay was for breakfast also. Receptionist said she would take my word for it. But if that is what the booking was, then they should have this information. When we went in the room there was no pole in the wardrobe to hang up our clothes - we told reception and they moved us to another room. […] This one had a broken toilet seat, but we put up with it as we were staying one night. Always find staff, whether on reception or in the restaurant, genuinely welcoming and chatty instead of the plastic smiles you often find elsewhere! My one gripe is how long it takes to receive the evening meal. If you're on Business, it's a good hotel to stay in. The Indian food is fantastic and the hotel has everything you would need, except Sky Sports. The bed is a bit hard and I've seen far better standard for a 4* hotel, but it's still okay, though.

Not a 4 star hotel, more like 2star. Although room was clean, it was tiny. The bathroom was incredibly small Poor quality pillows and duvet. The reception staff didn't know much, and were unable To answer any if our questions or help with any requests. A simple question like 'what time is breakfast served In the morning?', we couldn't get a proper answer Out […] of them. One staff member said 8-10am but not sure, the reception said 7:30am to 10am, and the 3rd said 7:30am to 11am! The restaurant was seriously understaffed and filthy. When booking the hotel was advertised on expedia as having free internet access throughout the hotel, however we were told at check in that there was no Internet access in any of the rooms. It was also a 15-20min drive to the ICC and a Taxi cost £12. Definitely would not recommend this hotel until they got their act together and improved a lot! Read more

Arrived at 11:30pm and they lost my information, so ended up taking 30mins to fill in all the paperwork etc. Then I get a phone call at about 12:30am!! Telling me that I need to bring my driving licence to be photocopied. This ended up taking another hour as he needed to reconfirm my booking with hotels.com (forwarding him conformation emails etc). Arrived in the snow, thankfully plenty of parking available.. Clean room with a large bed, pillows could be of a better standard but still slept fairly well.. Needed a cheap hotel .... and quick, Found this hotel on hotels.com and booked it. Looked quite sparce when we got there, one door boarded up which was a concern. Got checked in and got a disabled room!!!! No objections, but the hand basin stands less than 3 ft from the floor. I'm 6'2" and brushing you teeth is a struggle, as is swilling your face […] with water! Restaurant was Indian/Continental and made up for the room issues. Great food, great selection, fresh and tasty. Will definately stay there again, but I will avoid room 9. Definately reccomended. Read more

We didn't expect a lot from this hotel but being a Ramada you expect some level of quality. The only quality in this hotel was the staff; friendly, helpful, and couldn't do enough for you. You could tell even the cleaners take pride in their work. However, the room we had was very poorly maintained. Red wine, (I hope), stains on the walls, fairly grotty […] shower grout and silcone, wallpaper coming off the walls, water stains on the ceilings from an obvious flood...basically everything that the cleaners couldn't do was pretty shabby. Snotty young girl at reception when I checked in, room tiny, shower a mere hole, Im 6" and average weight (not over weight or obese ) and had problems fitting into it. room barely fitted the bed. breakfast was ok and service in restaurant.
