"Wounderful Location"
Love the location the room really is not worth the price when you have others so close and cheaper with more Hotel amenities. Room was small out dated TV and not even a coffee maker, even MOTEL 6 has a coffee maker. The staff was nice and very respectful, so again for the money no not it.

"Terrible experience"
It was awful... Horrible conditions of the Hotel. They need a lot of upgrades & improvements. It was worth a lot less than we paid...Broken furnitures, bad heating and dirty room, etc.

"Watch for mildew"
Owners were helpful, but there was a lot of gross mildew and mold on the inside of the shower curtain and the maid said they did not allow her enough time to clean properly. However, the owners of the hotel went out of their way to help me with notifying Expedia. I may give them another try just because they were nice. The curtain did not block out enough light from the outside and I could not sleep well because of that

"close to town/close to cal poly/easy freeway acces"
although the location was convenient for us, and we liked being able to park close to our room, our first indication that things might be sketchy were the filthy pieces of carpet that were cut into rectangles and used as door matts. the fake plants and railings were coated with thick dirt/dust, as were some of the things in the room. the curtains were icky/dingy and didn't quite cover the windows. we did have a couple of problems with the sink, etc. that they attended to quickly, but who even needs those problems when staying somewhere for 2 nights? shower walls were not tiled, but painted, and the paint was peeling. presumably, to save on electrical bills, only half of the sockets had light bulbs in them....you get the picture....keep looking--there are plenty of other motels in the area!!!

"One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in."
08/20/15
We arrived at 6:00 pm on Saturday, and the hotel room was not ready! The room was dark and small, and even worse, the rug was heavily soiled. No amenities of any kind. And get this - $200 a night and it is a "manager's special rate"!

"Outdated but clean and charming"

The room was not ready at check-in time so I had to wander around for a while, but when I finally got checked in everything was as expected. While the carpets were stained and the sink was cracked, the room was clean and the linens were fresh. The location is close to the freeway and downtown area.. The motel could use an update, but for my needs it was fine. While outdated, the building is very charming and designed so that no rooms are above others. My room had a functioning refrigerator, microwave and HD TV.

"Pleasant budget hotel"
07/21/15 SteveK619 San Diego, California
We took the train from San Diego to San Luis Obispo for a weekend to celebrate three birthdays. Most places were charging nearly $300 per night, but this place was quite affordable at about $120. It is definitely a budget place with a small room, but had all the amenities we needed: comfortable beds, ceiling fan, air conditioning, a really great shower, and only about eight blocks from the Amtrak Station. The staff were quite accommodating with extra pillows, etc. Plenty of parking. Close to great restaurants. Decent wi-fi.

"Basic "

It's a quaint little motel near the splash cafe. Everything is pretty good walking distance. The place itself is pretty clean. The rooms are basic you got the bed we had a queen-size bed with 3 pillows (needed one more cause we're pillow hogs) there's a TV pretty old school but have a tons of options to watch. The bathroom is small could use some upgrades but it does the job. The staff is always super friendly. It's a perfect place to crash. Without hurting your wallet.

"Nice budget place for an overnight stay :-)"
06/17/15 achutank Mumbai (Bombay), India
This fits into your budget, ideal for someone on a road trip down the Highway 1. All landmarks and food joints are close-by. There is free ice and a dispensing machine. The TV works which is great and has a good bouquet of channels which at the end of a long drive is nice to have. Viresh the manager is very friendly and helpful

"A place to say while staying in San Luis Obispo"
04/05/15 Kevin M
The pictures on the website looked charming, something different from the average motel. Arriving there, my feeling was "good enough". It basically was a stay-over from visiting my daughter at Cal Poly. My room interior was somewhat dated. a leftover stain here and there but clean and quiet. There was a 3 foot tall fridge & basic TV and wifi. All you need to be able to crash for the night. It is in walking distance to the downtown food & bar scene. A pleasant perk, I did not notice the Freeway/Highway which you can from some motels. There is a special rate for long term contractors at the Diablo Canyon power generating station.

"Nice small motel"
02/10/15 CraigKJ Bakersfield, California
It is a very nice place. I wish we could have stayed longer. My lady took a few walks downtown while I was sleeping. Next day, we drove around San Luis Obispo and found some good food at a falafel place. I had to get on the Amtrak for my trip south to San Diego, and she had to drive back home to Bakersfield.

"Close to downtown at a reasonable price"
01/02/15 Robert H Chatsworth, California, United States
This motel is relatively close to downtown in an area with multiple hotels and motels. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Mattress was a bit hard for my taste but my daughter thought it was very comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance from a brewery and a pretty good Irish Pub. We had breakfast at the little bakery down the road. All in all, a good experience. Wireless internet is slow.

"Friendly and helpful staff"

We got recommended this motel from the HI hostel which was full. The rooms were adequate and what you would expect from a motel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended and helped us book our next motel for a stay in Monterey. We visited San Luis Obispo as a half way point between a road trip from LA to San Francisco. I would definitely recommend visiting on a Thursday as they have a very lively market which fills up about a mile of the main street. They have food, gifts and live music and is packed full of locals and visitors alike. Well worth a visit.

"A dash of Mexicana and a dollop of kitsch...."
09/18/14 Jackie H Petaluma
With all the basics and beyond (from microwave, refrigerator, wifi, and parking) for under $100, it is hard to criticize this little oasis. I have been staying here ever since I discovered it more than five years ago. The same Indian family has been in charge, and always ingratiating. it is a short walk to the downtown hub, where you can be a true tourist, or pretend you are a local by dropping into their lovely public library, or, if you are lucky enough to be in town on Thursday, attend their year round night time public market.
