Before arriving at Paddington Station, we printed out a map to help us find this hotel; this is essential if you are unfamiliar with this part of London. Note that our review of the hotel itself is limited, because we didn't use the athletic facilities, visit the bar, or dine in the restaurant. However, our room was great -- very clean, quiet (double windows keep out all traffic & railway sounds), comfortable beds, excellent bathroom facilities, lots of fresh towels, adequate closet space, attractive decor. The only reason for rating the "service" at 4 to 4.5 is that there were problems with the "wake-up" call service. It's an automatic system that kept messing up: some mornings, we didn't get the requested call at the correct time; other mornings we got a wake-up call when we hadn't requested one. Location was between a freeway and very busy train station. We slept on the train side of the hotel and it was suprisingly quiet. Hotel was located in small business center with access to Pret (fast fresh food), Starbucks (coffee), and Sansbury (grocery store). Great access to tube, Heathrow express, and train.

We were very concerned about finding the Novotel in London. We didn't have any problem finding the hotel. We followed the signs of Shelden square and we were there less than a 10 minute walk from Paddington. I am so glad we stayed near the Paddington station as were able to get there very easy from the airport on the train. I have to say I liked being a little out of the hustle and bustle and still be able to walk to good places to eat and be able to travel on the tube anywhere we wanted to go. Just a note. The manager told us that on the smart phones it isn't correct on directions to get there. Make sure you go out of the train station opposite from the Hilton. Located in a business district, close to the underground station and on the Paddington Basin, we enjoyed the atmosphere. We had a long wait for our room which had been promised at noon as we were travelling with a baby. Also we had requested a bath tub in advance. They had forgotten and this caused further delay. There was always someone to assist with directions--Olympic venues and means of transport to the sites. only problem was that the shower is open so it gets the bathroom floor all wet. We did figure out the reason is that it's wheelchair friendly. Everything else was quite nice. It's a great location for getting to the Heathrow because it's near the hub of a huge train station that takes you there directly.

Rooms are good and clean. Facilities are good. Breakfast variety and taste is excellent. Service by the breakfast manager is excellent, however the regular waitresses need some further training. Lobby staff are good. Location is good. Major issue as to why I would never recommend this hotel in summer is the room cooling. Apparently they have an 'AIR […] COOLING' and not air-conditioning system. i am not sure what the difference is. But the room was terribly hot. I complained and they told me the engineers checked the system and it was fine. Setting was at 10 degrees and fan was on level 2 as recommended by the staff. The room was too hot, and felt more like 24 degrees. out of fight nights of sleep, we got one good night, as we opened the window and the weather outside was cool. This hotel is not recommended if the weather is hot. Pay a little extra somewhere else, and get some sleep. Winter season is fine, I would actually stay there in Winter. But never again in summer. This was a nice hotel BUT it was NOT near the center of London. It was very close to a metro station which must be used to take you to all the tourist attractions. NO food places close - must walk about 15mins to food places. It is in a quiet place NOTHING but office buildings near by.

I was surprised at how quiet my room was for a hotel in the city - even though it was near the railway line and some busy main roads I didn't hear a thing with the windows closed. The room was spacious and comfortable. I didn't eat there but the menu looked nice.! I would definitely go back there again.

Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was a little crowded with the sofa-bed extended for our child. Note, there is no bath in the room, only a shower and the toilet is set separately in it's own room. The hotel is clean, modern-looking and well-insulated so traffic noise was non-existent. There is access from the hotel to Paddington station along […] the canal which takes about 7 minutes. This eliminates the need to walk along the street. However, that access was closed on 27 December 2011 because of construction work at the station and will re-open after that's been completed. Very clean and modern hotel, handicapped by no concierge service, no porters, a trek along the canal bank and Paddington station reconstruction that requires a taxi to take you 'across the street' if you have luggage to get to the station that should be a few minutes walk away. To rub salt in the wounds the hotel is situated in an office park complex […] that has no passing traffic, consequently you have to order a more costly radio cab rather than a regular less expensive London cab. The Paddington Hilton is a better option for guests with luggage. The modern decor makes this a cold and clinical hotel. On the plus side the reception staff where very helpful and accommodating. This was a quite modern very clean hotel located near ( 1 mile) the train station. Due to sidewalks this is easily walked. Make sure you get directions from the hotel itself because the internet ones were confusing/incorrect. Very nice hotel with a very attentive staff. My room was comfortable. My bathroom was odd in that I have a wheelchair accessible […] shower and consequently my floors were always soaked after a shower.....being alone I was aware of this potential hazard and took precautions. Had I traveled with a companion this could have been a dangerous situation. I do recommend the morning breakfasts.....they are discounted 33% if you opt to add them upon arrival. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in late September. The weather was mild and hence the rooms were very warm. We were informed that the hotel was "green" and hence now does not have traditional air conditioning. The only way to make the room even partially comfortable was to open the window to the highly intrusive London traffic noise which made […] sleeping difficult even after a room change from the 2nd to 10th floors. In general the staff were very friendly and helpful to the best of their ability. This was my second stay at this hotel, the last being at the time of the worst snow storms the area has seen in many years and consequently the room temps were likely more comfortable. The location of the hotel, being very close to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express is a big plus and improving as the area develops and pathways to the station are being completed. There are also more restaurants, bars and facilities opening in the immediate complex compared to 18 months ago and this again is a positive point. On my first visit and as suggested on various reviews, even Black Cab drivers were unaware of the hotels location. 18 months later this is still the case with one driver not knowing the hotel or even the road. He did however direct us to a cab driver who did know of it and likely as the complex develops this will become less prevalent. Even so, I feel it would be prudent to Google Map the hotel and print out the address and a map even if you ate considering using a taxi. I am not sure if I would use this hotel again mainly because of the room temperature issue and the consequent sleep issues. One is paying a fair premium for the room and I feel you should expect at least basic comfort for that amount of money. Read more

It was very clean and organised. It's very close to central London. Breakfast has to be taken, it was open buffet, excellent. Hotel was so closed to Paddington station that you can use whether bus or metro to arrive central London. We were very happy to choose that hotel, we extremly recommend it.
