It's small but clean, cozy and comfortable. Location is great, you can walk almost anywhere. and the staff were so friendly and helpful.... they even helped me figure out how to catch a bus to my next destination in Italy. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Roma!

The staff is superb. very helpful and knowledgeable getting around town. Kaly is exceptional in helpfulness. Hotel location is unexcelled. Easy access to local buses and Termini train station. Breakfast is significantly better than average and the expresso was better than any other I had in this trip. Fruit, cheese, ham, bread, cereal, milk, danish, […] etc.were everyday on the menu and replenished as consumed.. Hotel is quaint and older but exceptionally clean. If you are looking for Marriott or Hyatt, this not for you. If you want a clean quaint Italian hotel with exceptional staff and location you will be very pleased. The hotel manager really made our experience a pleasant one at the Hotel Saturnia. We were initially disappointed with our room (which was booked as a triple) being that there were three of us. It was basically a double room with a pull-way bed brought in which left no space to move around, yet alone unpack. Our overall stay was nice due to the service we received. The complimentary breakfast was also an added plus. Our room was a basement, walls were chipped, and although they say free wifi it is only in the lobby. The breakfast however was great and staff was friendly. The location is also great, but avoid weekend stays because it is very noisy as drunks roam and holler right outside the room.

Very friendly. Free breakfast was great. Walking distance to most all of the ancient Roman sites (Colisseum, Forum, Trajan's Market, etc). Walking distance from the Termini train station. I checked out reviews before booking this hotel. I concur with many of the reviews. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. The hotel was extremely clean. The breakfast was very good. It is in a great location. You can walk to almost anything in the city from the hotel. I know someone said that they did […] not feel safe at night due to the hotel being down an alley. It certainly is not an alley. It is a small street that you could only go one way. I understand everyone has differing opinions, but I never once felt unsafe in the area of the hotel or anywhere in the city. In fact, I walked around the city by myself and never felt unsafe. The only thing that happened at the hotel was our toilet flushing mechanism was having trouble flushing the toilet. We had to take the cover off and hold in the inside button. We mentioned it to the staff and they moved us to another room (that was better than our original). When we returned from sightseeing our luggage and belongings had been moved to the new room. I did not take this as a sign of not maintaining the hotel. It is a hotel and as such, things will tend to need to be fixed due to the high volume of people. Great little hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. They had to move us to a different room after our first night because they were going to redo the shower in the bathroom. They gave us a free upgrade and moved all of our things for us. I had an excellent stay and would definitely stay there again.

I went as a single traveler. I'm 64 and carry 2 small bags that I typically can manage. Up a narrow staircase is another issue. No elevator, so they offered to help with one piece going up. I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Saturnia. My satisfaction results directly from the excellent service orientation of its staff who went out of their way to ensure that my every desire was met during my 3-day layover after a long flight from San Francisco and prior to the next series of flights ending in Gaborone, Botswana. I needed a quiet respite with which […] to recover from jet lag and this option provided just that. Alerted by email that I would be arriving much earlier than their usual check-in time, they generously allowed me an early morning registration and I was able to be napping well before noon. Though the room was small, it was reasonably priced for being within a stone's throw of the Cavour Metro station, which allowed me to get to most places by just taking a short walk to the subway. When I wanted to sample authenticity with a "locals" trattoria, the desk clerk gave considerable thought and then sent me to trattoria Gioia Mia Pisciapiano, Via degli Avignonesi, 34, just off Piazza Barbarini. All I can say is "Bravissimo!" It was a hit, though it's not for anyone interested in a quick 20-minute power lunch. When I needed to check out in the mid-afternoon because my flight didn't leave Fiumicino until 12:15am, they kindly allowed a late departure and then stored my bags until evening so it wouldn't be necessary to store them at termini prior to taking the Leonardo Express train out to the airport. So, if you're not planning on spending large amounts of time in your room, want an affordable experience that provides excellent service and a complimentary breakfast that is more than ample, this is a good choice in my opinion. I heartily recommend it and please understand, I have no affiliation with the hotel. The hotel staff are welcoming and very helpful. When we needed directions, reservations, or extra bathroom supplies it occured immediately. The location is about a 10 minute walk to Termini station. We had an awesome experience in Rome (but no way is four days enough)! Staying at the Saturnia was part of what made our stay special. Alessandro, Ricardo, Palmira, Lilly, etc. were exceptionally nice and helpful, and always handled our "touristy" ways and questions with a smile and with enthusiasm. I don't know that I've ever dealt with a more friendly […] hotel staff than those at the Saturnia. We also felt the stay was well worth the cost... in fact, without our asking, we were upgraded to a better room than we paid for, at no extra charge. We also got all we could eat for breakfast every day (awesome pastries and coffee/cappuccino/hot chocolate!). When I went to ask where to purchase postage for our postcards, Alessandro or Ricardo would just take them and say "We'll mail them for you" at no charge. Cool! The location was good. We were almost across the piazza from Santa Maria Maggiore, and it was an interesting 10 minute walk down the "via" from the Colosseum. Our only "negative" for us country folks was probably the city noise. We were not used to motorcycle and scooter noise at all hours and incessant sirens (a problem with Rome as a whole, not necessarily with the hotel :-) ). Please remember that this is not a suite at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. It is a little, friendly, family establishment in the middle of Rome. I had high hopes for this hotel with all the good reviews I read about it. We booked a room with a shared bathroom and that must have been the problem. We were on the top floor, no elevator, 4 flights of stairs. There was no A/C in the room thankfully there was a fan that was adequate for September. The windows were new and we had a sink in our room. […] The floor was terribly dirty. I dropped some water on the floor from the sink and wiped it up with a towel and the towel came up with black on it. The wallpaper was peeling in many places and had some sort of white spots all over. The bathroom across the hall was bad. The shower was the worst. It had black mold all up and down the corners. The accordion doors that are supposed to come together to shut it, didn't, and left a 6-8 inch gap for water to spray all over the floor. We told the front desk about it and even before my husband finished speaking, the man at the desk hurriedly gave a pat answer of, "yea yea we will look at it" Nothing was done. The breakfast was not very good with pastries that seemed day old. The only thing that was a positive was the location. It was a short 10 minute walk to Termini and was within 15 minutes from everything else but the Vatican. I was very disappointed with this hotel and would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Perhaps the other rooms with bathrooms were better. Don't book a shared bathroom room at this hotel, it is awful and a huge rip off. Read more

This hotel is a great find in Rome. The location was fantastic and the staff was super helpful! It was wonderful to wake up each morning to a nice breakfast. Our bed was two single mattresses pulled together and one of them was significantly lower than the other. Otherwise everything was perfect!

After fighting through cars, trains, and crowds, we were hot and exhausted. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and went up to our room. The air conditioning was a God-send! We got a standard double room w/ bath. The rate included breakfast. Room was adequately sized for 2 people with two 22" suitcases and a couple of hand bags. no elevator but stairs were no hassle for us. The only challenging thing about the room was the shower stall. You can close the windows and turn on the AC and be oblivious to all that. The hotel also offers free wifi. The staff were very courteous and helpful. On the day we arrived, we were offered a cup of coffee. Very much appreciated after an overnight flight. All except one desk staff spoke English. Continental breakfast with made-to-order coffee saved us both time and money every day. Termini is a 5-minute walk. You will discover that this is the best amenity of ALL. BTW, in getting to hotel once you arrive into Termini from the airport (Leonardo express from FCO), find the Piazza d. Cinquecento exit and get onto Via Cavour. Walk straigh down Cavour, and Via Ruiniglia is on right. Hotel has a sign visible from Cavour. Area amenities: Lots of eateries in the area (favorite hole in the wall - Forno da Milvio on Via Dei Serpenti). You can walk from here to the Colosseum in 10 min. There are three groceries nearby plus a pharmacy within a block. We were out till about midnight every night and we never felt ill at ease. Read more
