Le Manoir des Deux Amants - Eure (department)

Stayed in newly refurbished condo, master bath and bedroom in the loft, sofa bed and powder room on first floor. Grounds are very picturesque. Front desk staff was very helpful. Hotel provided fun activities as a way to meet other guests from all over Europe. Overall positive experience.

It was difficult to find without a detailed map of this part of France. Note, purchase Michelin #304, Eure/Seine-Maritime for a detailed map. Once there, it was well worth the time it took to find it. We were sorry that we did not plan on staying longer. When I booked the room initially on the internet, the room pictured looked just fine. However, when we got to our room it was at the top of the inn on the third floor. The ceilings were slanted and being tall people we kept hitting our heads. The kitchen was very strange. it was divided into two spaces. The stove top was over the washing machine and […] the oven was in the living area. Also the dishes were kept in a dresser that had the tv on top--so everytime you needed dishes you had to disturb the people watching tv. The kitchen counter was under the eaves so it was quite impossible for us to use this area. The sofa bed was had a broken slat so my son had to sleep backward on the mattress. When we questioned why we got this room (which was not like the one pictured on the site) we were told that there was no other rooms available for us to switch (by the manager) We looked at the vacated rooms on the second floor and they were very nice as we had expected. We asked to have someone fix our sofa bed and no one ever addressed the problem. There was one sweet girl at the desk who apologized for our room and our situation stating that she would give us another room but she would get in trouble.. Another issue was that the bathroom did not have a shower--only a shower spray in the tub so it was very difficult to take a bath in a small tub. If you decide the stay here make sure you get a first or second floor apartment. The area surrounding the inn is stunning. Read more

The apartment was very spacious and clean and very well equipped with lots of little extras like tea/ coffee, water in the fridge, complimentary toiletries, dishwasher tablets etc. that made it a very pleasant stay. Stayed here on 29th October 2012 for 2 nights. Had a great relaxing time! Kids loved the play area and pool - adults liked the hot tub! I found the hotel to be very pleasant and located in a quite location where we were able to relax. There were plenty of restaurants nearby even though the hotel did not have its own. It did provide moning service from which you could select various items such as bread. A nice place to visit. Our room was actually a two bedroom suite with much room.

On arrival was wowed by the location. Stunning, on the side of the river with an island to explore. Ample free parking, helpful and multilingual staff who spoke excellent English and were very accomodating with our requests. We were taken aback by the room. A spacious small apartment, with a working kitchen, small lounge and balcony, a good sized […] bedroom and huge bathroom. There were some issues, where floor tiles were broken, but the cleanliness was good and the room amenities were excellent and more than made up for this. Dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven, kettle and coffee percolator were among the amenities. The hotel does have a (slightly expensive) shop on site that will do for emergency items. To be honest, we only stayed one night and left with a heavy heart the next morning knowing that the rest of our holiday would not be in such spacious rooms and such a wonderful setting and have vowed to return next year for several days to enjoy both the hotel and the area. The hotel offers very comfortable apartments and we have now stayed there four times. We used to stay at hotels in Rouen. We tried several and we had no complaints because they were all were comfortable. The difference at the Deux Amants is that you don't get a room, you get a kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms with all the facilities you could ask […] for. We stay for a couple of nights as we travel from the Midlands down to the South of France. It has become a home from home for us and allows us to rest before cvontinuing the journey. It also allows you to visit tourist sites on the trip: Versailles, Giverny, Honfleur, Bayeux, the beaches,etc. An additional point is the friendliness of the staff. When we were late arriving one night, the hotel staff rang us to see if we were okay! Brilliant. I have seen comments about the lack of a restaurant, but the apartments have all the vcooking equipment you mighty need. We shop before we arrive. We prefer it. We eat what we want, when we want. Our family of five spent an enjoyable night here. Everyone enjoyed the 2 pools and hot tub. All of the staff speak excellent English, albeit they seem to have a long list of rules they want to tell you about when you check. Really, all of the rules boil down to "don't be a jerk", but I guess they feel the need to tell everyone. The location is kind […] of in the middle of nowhere with no eating facilities on site. There are kitchenettes in the rooms, which are well supplied. The only inconvenient part is a reasonable restaurant is quite a drive away, but this is a minor issue. Cadre agréables avec des prestations correctes offertes par l'établissement.Petits apparts studios, très anciens. Carrelage cassé dans la cuisine et SDB. La peinture s’effrite de tous les côtés. Il y a des trous et des boute de moquette arrachés dans la chambre. Les installations sanitaires sont anciennes, le lit menaçait de tomber car les pieds étaient […] cassés. Malgré l'intervention de l'équipe de maintenance (très sympa et courtois tout comme la réception) le lit faisait toujours des vagues... Impossible de prétendre à de folles cabrioles avec mon épouse sans que le lit ne casse :-( Bref, il n'y a que 8 chambres rénovées sur l'ensemble de l’hôtel.
