"Wonderful Relaxing Oasis"

Spent 5 nights at the Phoenician and loved every minute. Kind of pricey, but really a great oasis in the desert. The pool complex is wonderful and a perfect spot to enjoy the sun and Scottsdale weather. Outstanding golf course. Conveniently located to Old Town Scottsdale and other shopping and galleries, yet far enough away so you are removed from the noise and can really relax. We hiked up the Cholla Trail to the top of Camelback and would highly recommend it, but be warned it is pretty long and difficult. Overall a great hotel and location.

Stayed at the resort February 28, 2014 for 3 nights. Girl spa weekend. The resort was very nice and the spa was excellent. Book your spa treatments before you go to get the times you wish. The pool areas were very pretty and you were waited on the minute you sat down. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The only downside was the hotel seemed to charge for everything, including wireless internet. We would stay there again for the spa.

Situated in an enormous area, with a golf club, several swimming pools and magnificently maintained gardens. The hotel have nice rooms, clean and very spacious. Staff is very polite and helpful. Restaurant is very good and service excellent.

This is definitely one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at. I used an SPG upgrade and we stayed in an awesome casita suite overlooking the pool area. It had a bedroom, a living room, a large dining table, 2 full bathrooms, and a private patio. Everything in the room was top quality and new looking. It was an absolutely perfect room. Also the parking situation was the best I've ever had at a hotel. We got to park 20 feet from our door and paid nothing for parking. The rest of the property was just as well kept and up to date as the room. The pools were completely clean and a great temperature. The staff was the most professional I've seen in some time. The breakfast buffet was just average and way overpriced, but the most negative part of the stay was that the Jacuzzi was closed for renovations and there had been no indication of this when we booked the room. The temperature was in the mid 60's and a Jacuzzi was really needed. Overall an incredibly nice property. Highly recommended.

The staff has been wonderful. Our trip started with some problems and everyone has bent over backward to make sure our stay is beyond expectations! You will not find a more helpful and friendly staff anywhere!
For claiming to be a 5 star resort is embarrassing. The staff here need to have their heads examined. I have never before dealt with such rude and lazy staff in my life. The costs are atrocious 9$ for a hotdog.. Really... 17$ for a single rum and coke. It really is disgusting. And if and I say if who a big sigh the staff was at all helpful and polite it would be ok. But these guys are just gross. Do not waste your money. The golf side of things... The course is not bad but there are no sand traps they are rock pits. Again out of 5 maybe a 3 at best

I was just there this weekend and was very surprised at how clean the hotel was both inside and outside and how cordial the staff were in all areas. The fact that they recognize you from the morning after you have breakfast and you come back for either a drink or a lunch/dinner in a certain restaurant is appreciated. The rooms are large and you get a view of wither the Camelback mountain which is right there...so close you can almost touch it or you get the view of the beautiful Gardens and the pool area. I was in a deluxe room I understand and again, all the rooms are large with ample space. There were too many pools to count and each one of them looked inviting. They also have a beautiful trained hawk that manages to keep the "pests" at bay and a large koi pond for the children to feed during feeding time. The lobby and its bar area are very inviting and there are terraces with fireplaces/pits all around the hotel. I had breakfast at the Terazzo which was well done and dinner at JG (Jean George Vongerichten), the famous steakhouse where I dined with a colleague on a tomahawk steak with mushroom and spinach as sides. The wine list is very good as well and all the people seemed to know about wine and wine pairings. Again a sign of a well trained and caring staff. For starters we had the seafood platter with a bottle of Shramsberg Californian sparkling wine and for dessert we shared a delicious apple crumble. From a service, food presentation and ambiance perspective, it was excellent and we will definitely go back if we were ever in AZ.
"Beautiful Peaceful Hotel"

Although I have been very fortunate to have traveled all over the world, I have never been to Scottsdale,Arizona. Two weeks ago I had a business conference in Scottsdale and stayed at the Phoenician. The hotel is beautiful and immaculately clean. The staff was fabulous,so accommodating and nice.It was a pleasure seeing these young, exuberant, sweet kids always there to help with a smile. The bar and restaurant service were excellent .The food was better then I thought it would be. The only complaint I have is our rooms were not in the main hotel and they were a long walk from the main building. All of the conference meetings were in the main building and so it was a hike .However ,we were able to get golf cart service back and forth from the out buildings to the main hotel so that was very helpful. It was also very cold that week ,and we didn't have coats with us so we appreciated the rides back and forth. We had a corner room with a beautiful terrace and a wonderful view.My only complaint is that the rooms need more light, they were a little dark. It's worth a visit to Scottsdale just to stay at the Phoenician. The scenery is beautiful and the Hotel is great!

Having stayed in Phoenix a few times now we thought we'd try this hotel. It is big and can get a bit overrun with conferences. We were lucky re room 6195 whilst a very long walk the balcony and view of Phoenix, camelback, cactus garden and hole 9 made up for it. Some great sunsets seen as a result. Don't bother with valet it is 29 dollars per day and the self parking is really easy. Ate in J&G steakhouse one night lovely food definitely worth the money Pool area good and attendants look after you well. Some good classes at spa and enjoyed a great massage too. Location is excellent both for Phoenix and Scottsdale plus very easy journey too and from the airport We did the cactus walk which was great the guide who has been working at hotel since it opened and cares for the garden was very knowledgeable and was great throughout definitely worth doing.

The Phoenician is in the up market side of Scottsdale. Everything about the hotel is first class. The staff are very accommodating nothing is too much trouble. Our room was spotless we had a huge bathroom. The grounds and pool areas all very pleasing on the eye. The adult pool area also overlooks a lake with hundreds of koi carp, very relaxing watching them swimming around!! Brilliant golf facilities. The hotel also caters for businesses and had quite a few conferences going on, although they didn't intrude on us holiday makers. My only gripe would be $12 per day extra for Internet in your room, which considering you are already paying top dollar was insulting! Another tip would be to pack some slightly more smarter clothing for the Eve's in the hotel as most people are very well dressed! Not usual when eating out in the States. (Sat afternoon they had "afternoon" tea with lots of ladies dressed as if they were off to Ascot!!) quite a contrast with the rest of us off to the pool area. The end of our stay came too quickly. All I can say is we will look back with fond memories.
