All rooms includeBordering San Marco and the Rialto and stretching east to some of Venice’s quietest greenest parts, Castello is the city’s most varied ‘sestiere’. Its most famous aspect is the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront next to the Bridge of Sighs, with picture-postcard views onto the lagoon. Yet a few yards from the tourist hoards, the backstreets are quiet and typically Venetian. There are many outstanding churches and art collections in this area.

Try and get a top floor room with a view on San Marco .... can only describe this as amazing! It feels like you are on a ship as it is decorated in wood and cream leather and furnishings. Very clean. Breakfast was ok, crossaints, boiled egg, rolls, cake, fruits, cereals and twinings tea! Service excellent. The only minor thing was they didnt have an iron on the premises, so iron your clothes before you go!

The hotel Bucintoro is everything you could want for a wonderful stay in Venice. It is in a perfect location about 7-8 mins walk from San Marco but away from the crowds. Eating breakfast (fantastic buffet style) and sipping evening drinks (try Spritz or Prosecco) on the terrace looking at the boats coming and going was a highlight. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the hotel was clean and comfortable. Our room was quite small but nevertheless immaculate. We were on 4th floor so views were incredible. Hotel Bucintoro is convenient for vaporetii stop, Arsenale, (just over bridge). Would go back again and again and recommend the hotel to everyone.

Hotel Bucintoro has a beatiful location. Our room had an amazing view both looking back to the lagoon and out to sea. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful booking tickets, finding train schedules and booking hotels elsewhere in Europe for us. Getting there was easy as we just took a water taxi right from the Train station, which was an economical option with 4 people and extra luggage as compared to the Vaparetto. Breakfast is fantastic as there is a shady are in the morning right in front of the hotel to enjoy as you watch the ships coming in and out of the harbour. It is just beyond the main touristy area too, so there is relatively little foot traffic going by. They also run a complementary water taxi to Murano if you want to watch a glass blowing demonstration. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Let me start by saying that Venice is a beautiful city regardless of which hotel you're staying. Some offer more convenience than other. Now the negatives: it's not very close to any of the public water transportation stop. Imagine having to drag your luggage for about half an hour up and down several bridges, after a long tiring flight. This off course can be avoided by taking a private water taxi. It'll cost you though. Secondly, we arrived a day later than planned. We book our hotel through hotel.com for four nights. Our reservation was completely cancelled. Initially, they were not accomadating at all, even after we apologized for our delay. We would have left, but were too tired. Finally, they were willing to let us stay, but for only 2 of the 3 nights needed. I've never felt so angry spending my money. Trust me, we would have left if we weren't exhausted. Aside from these, the hotel is located in more quiet area of Venice. The view, overlooking over the lagoon is great, especially in a moonlit night. The room is a bit small, but comfortable. They put two single beds together to make a large bed, which I don't comprehend. This needs to change for a hotel of this caliber. The breakfast menu is good. Overall, with the amount of money spent, you probably can get better elsewhere.

This hotel with the shipboard theme and excellent, caring staff was a real gem. We stayed a week and between the location being close to the water bus stop and within easy walking of St Marks we never had any difficulty getting to the various sites. Recommend spending the money for a water taxi directly to/from the airport (95 Euros each way) as they drop off within about 30 feet of front door - no bridges to cross with luggage! We will be back.

Hotel was beautiful very clean and really well fitted out with very solid fixtures and fittings. Our room had fantastic views over the bay and staff were very friendly and helpful - we couldn't operate the rooms temperature locally so only small prob but room did go quite cold in the night. As with everywhere in Venice the drinks are expensive so if you like a whisky of an evening expect a sizeable bar bill (shots are quite big though)! However I would def stay here again...
