Hotel is nice and very clean, 2 minutes from the beach. Lovely swimming pool. Very nice breakfast especially omelet.

We enjoyed our stay in Karon Princess. We have previously worked in Phuket, and was delighted to find a hotel so close to the beach and with breakfast included at a very fair price. We are avid walkers, and often walked to Kata to enjoy the scenery.
After the beach clean-up by the Military Junta, the hotel breakfast view is absolutely stunning. Situated just on the beach road, we enjoyed breakfast from the hotel restaurant every single day.
In fact, we have to think quite hard to find something we were dissatisfied with - and the only thing we could come up with was the hotel WiFi. The price of 600 baht/day is absurd, and we had to double-check to see if we read it correctly (two days in a row). Both me and my girlfriend work in tourism, and have never seen WiFi at this cost. We tried it one night in the restaurant while enjoying a cold drink, and the speed wasn't impeccable either.
Bonus points for nice, quiet pool area.

Rummet stort och bra. Ganska lat personal och de första dagarna var vattnet i poolen ganska smutsigt. Men rengjordes under tiden vi var där. Sista dagen vid poolen kom det en råtta springande. Inget hotell jag skulle välja igen. Frukosten ok. Nära strand och shopping.

This place probably wasn't the best choice for my spoiled North American personality that was experiencing severe culture shock. I would rate it as a 2-star hotel at best. The staff were kind, but they have limited English. Compared to my hotel in Bangkok, their English was terrible. Somehow, we managed to communicate and book a car pick up and ferry ride to Phi Phi. The location is directly across the beach. Only a road separates it. The rooms are stuck in the 1970s. The bathroom is quite disgusting, but there's hot water (sometimes). AC worked great, thankfully. Breakfasts were good! Coffee, fruit, vegetables, eggs on demand and Thai foods. The highlight of the hotel is the pool. We rented a motor bike from the hotel for 250 baht. They hold your passport, which I found unnerving. No problems though.
I stayed at the Karon Princess Hotel in early March 2015. The first thing that I liked about it was its location within walking distance from the sea, it takes you about 2 minutes to cross the road and you find yourself on a nice beach. The room was cleaned up by very friendly and smiling staff every day, it was really comfortable to stay there. What i liked the most was the pool located on the roof of the hotel from which a spectacular mountain view can be seen. The shops, restaurants and some bars are within walking distance as well; strolling along the main street you can enjoy live music, a mango or whatever fruit you like smoothie, it is really cheap and yummy but if you suddenly feel like going for more performance, you should hire a tuk-tuk (try get one with music, and a real party will start right away) and head to the main spot of Phuket nighlife, Bangla Road (about 15-20 minutes).
The positive. Short walk to restaurants and shops. Rooms with ok size. Fridge / etter heater for coffee / tea. Air con worked well. Poor sea view due to large trees. we had no problems with the water. Everything worked well. The negative: Not friendly staff at reception. Internet only in reception area against payment. Hard beds. This was my 2 visits to this hotel and will be my last. After that, I stayed at Diamond Cottage located between Karon / Kata. This hotel was absolutely top in all areas.
The reception staff were surly. Don't speak English. All the employes couldn't raise a smile. They don't clean de bathroom. The breakfast was poor. Near you can get karonburi, very better in all aspects.
There hotel needs an update, and people motivated, not people who treat us like invisible people.
OK,, confession time. We like hot showers, not necessarily long but dependable. Not so much at Karon Princess. The location is excellent, the people are very accommodating, but the room we stayed in was dated. (Quick note: if you like to use the drinks in the minibar and replace them, know that they are marked subtly. We replaced the Chang we drank, but were still charged (a decent enough price, I'll admit) for them because we replaced them with ones without the little colored mark. No problem. Wi-Fi in the room and hot water? Now that's a problem. On the other hand, breakfast was amazing, and the service was very top notch. (We extended our stay.)
Ok ill start the reveiw with the good points.
1.location, stayed for 6 nights.Nice spot near some good eateries and shopping.
Unfortunately its all down hill from there.
1. Hot water runs out/not working at all most of the time.
2.Air con has 2 settings, stifling heat and sub arctic. This makes you get up about 5 times during the night to adjust it.
3."international satelite tv" has 9 thai channels and fox sports showing soccer 24h a day.
4.We had no power for around 24hrs and couldnt even use the pool as the diesel generators exhaust that exits just below formed a nice smelly cloud over the area.
5."wifi" yes it is there but you pay dearly for it and have to walk 100m to reception to get it to pick up.
6.Beds two singles, one around 75mm taller then the other lashed together to make a "king"
Combined with the thin piece of foam masquerading as a pillow ensures the hotels spa does a roaring trade in back/neck massages.
7. Food. Breakfast was okish, ordered a ham and cheese toasted sandwich from room service and it turned up cold. Not sure how that can be messed up but anyway.
8. Staff at reception were quite nice when they were there.Every other member of staff were rude as hell.
Overall 6 days of holidays ruined.
Not happy especially after paying the same amount we were at another hotel further north which was spectacular.
Loved the room, 1214, top floor and total privacy as balcony screened by trees. Great air con and room kept clean. Breakfast buffet same every day. Drinks need to be much colder and hot food to be kept hot. Coffee at breakfast, delicious. Staff at reception and waitresses not overly helpful. Resturant Manager very helpful. Travellers remember we are in an underdeveloped country. Tradies not good. During a rain storm the water was running through the light fitting into the bath. Scary! Be polite to the Thai people and don't raise your voice.
Stayed for 14 nights at the Karon Princess. Found the hotel ideally centrally situated for easy access to beach and restaurants. We booked a delux room which was kept clean on a daily basis. Breakfast is a buffet service and has an egg station where eggs are cooked to order. We found the staff to be very helpful and polite. Overall for the price we paid felt this hotel was good value and would consider using again. The only issue we did have and is no reflection on the hotel was some of the other guests who felt it was appropriate to drink glass bottles of beer and eat their lunch in the pool without consideration of hygiene or safety of themselves and others.
As usual we book and pay through the internet and when we get at the hotel we just give the printed copy of the booking and in few minuted everything is usually sorted out.
Well not in this case.
After photocopy our passport and checking our booking reference number they still started asking questions after questions.
After a good 20 minutes they asked us to email to them a copy of the booking.
We said.....but we already gave you this copy which has got a reference number.
No, they insist that we send the booking to their computer.
Ok, let us do that but we haven't got a computer so you got to let us use your computer.
One girl at the reception said......the computer is not free.....you have to pay.
What, we said.....are you joking?
We don't need your computer, it is you that tell us to email you with the booking reference.
They didn't reply so we stand back and sit down in the chairs totally exhausted after that confrontation.
Nothing happened for few minutes but in the meantime they must have understood how stupid they were so they told the bell guy to let us use the computer for free.
After 20 more minutes when they finally printed the booking confirmation they finally took us to our room.
I have seen so many stupid things but this one beat them all.
Avoid this place unless your patience is limitless.
We had not booked via the Internet, so as a walk in we were lucky enough to be shown what they call their "pool room" not I would imagine everyone's taste.... But for us this was great!!! It's a ground floor room leading onto the small pool area and jacuzzi. Clearly noisy at times, often with children in the early morning but that did not worry us too much. The room was very spacious, always clean, well serviced and allowed us to have a magical 10 days of swimming, jacuzzing and great walks along the beach. Their restuarant is adequate, same breakfast day after day, and an ok al la carte menu. Lastly and sadly no working wi fi in the rooms.....paid wi fi but not working!!!!! Would we go back again....... Yes!!....not outstanding but very pleasant all round!!!
