The hotel in general was just fine however the water had a bad oder to it and was not drinkable. Supply your own drinking water and you'll be fine.

The hotel was very nice. The staff was even better. The rooms, not so good. Our first room was extremely musty smelling. We changed rooms within a few minutes. The next room was also musty, but not as much. The odd thing was that we were next to a King room that had a broken door lock, so the room was unoccupied and it smelled great. Maybe there is a problem with the air conditioners at this location. Overall I would have given a much better score, if not for the old, musty, damp smells.

The carpet was very wet and tehre were no other rooms. I should of asked for a major discount as the room as musty and wet.

Everything was fine until we pulled out the pull out couch and the sheets were bloody..it was awful! They did switch our room for us which was just another inconvenience as it was 830 and we had to move all of our stuff as we as our 3 and 5 year old....yes its great they switched our rooms, but blood covered sheets is very unacceptable! There were also no resturants near by that I would even eat at other than Mcdonalds..and we usually dont eat there.

The staff at Holiday Inn Express Exmore were excellent. They took the time to talk with us - even though the hotel was fully booked - and treated everyone as 'guests'. They were great.

It seemed that the air conditioning had trouble keeping the room cool. It was very warm in the room and the air would run and then shut off for just a few minutes and then turn back on. Other than that it certainly suited our needs.

The bed was one of the firmest matresses I have slept on in a long time, but I slept well. The AC unit, kept turning off and on. I was hoping it would stay on for white noise. Overall, very pleased .

Exactly what you expect from Holiday Inn- nice room, fair price. Not super fancy but a pleasant surprise for the money. The place was clean and everything worked as it was supposed to. Good wifi and television. There were a few cracked floor tiles in the bathroom that stood out since the rest of the property was In good repair. Overall- I will stay at HIE again whenever possible as you always know what to expect.

Very hot day-100+ outside-top floor(3rd) at least 85. Room was about 80 and took several hours before it was bearable. Staff was great. Breakfast was great. Gotta do something about air on third floor, both hallways and rooms.

Felt person at desk was rude and unaccommodating. Surprised that elevator not on 1st floor and that there are not enough parking spaces for all rooms.

My wife and stayed here on May 13th 2015. I booked the room through a 3rd party and the reservation was messed up because I booked a Handicap room 1st floor, and they were booked, the front desk clerk immediately contacted the general manager John, and he apologized and upgraded us to a sweet at no extra charge. He was very professional and kept asking, what else can we do to make your stay more enjoyable? I will definitely recommend this Hotel and return. R. Friend Satisfied customer!!!

I have traveled for business for over 35 years. This hotel ranks right up in the top 5%. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The in room Jacuzzi was an excellent surprise. Felt great after long day of driving. Manager went out of his way to make sure everything was up to par. Breakfast was good and hot and well prepared. Again, the breakfast staff and front desk were extremely cheerful and helpful. Will be my stop on all future trips down Rt. 13 on the beautiful Eastern Shore either for work or play.

This is a favorite hotel and we were not disappointed. It is currently under construction, but the staff do their best to make sure you have a peaceful stay. The first room we were given on the 3rd floor adjoined a room full of noisy construction workers. We asked for another room and the clerk was very kind and gave us 2 choices of quieter rooms. The breakfast was great with a friendly attendant. Our room was clean and quiet.

Although half of the building was being worked on, the lobby and rooms were in great condition. Staff were helpful and very accommodating. Rooms were well maintained and came with refrigerators and microwave ovens. The hotel also serves an up scale continental breakfast which was continuously refilled. Will become one of my new favorite stopover.

Returning from a long trip overseas, we stopped here for late-night rest; our room was clean & bed(s) comfortable for us weary travelers... usual Holiday Inn Express breakfast buffet 'got us going' again the next morning :) Ongoing renovations will further improve this hotel's facility...its location, only a few minutes North of Chesapeake Bay Bridge & Tunnel, makes this a good stopover for travelers going to/from Norfolk area and Delaware, Pennsylvania or New York. Cheerful morning desk clerk, 'Jameeka', is an asset!

Had to get away before the snows began, so we headed down the peninsula. Stopped at the Holiday Inn Express in Exmore, just a few miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and large, and the breakfast was ample. And it was very quiet. Will stay here again, if needed.

We have been by, but never stopped. We made the reservation only to find the place in transition. The left side of the hotel is being renovated from the ground up. New facing, new windows, new remodeled rooms. Our side was more than dated. Old carpet in hallways and rooms. And the hallways were freezing. Just hanging plastic between the occupied and un-occupied sections. They could do a better job in 30 degree temperatures. Breakfast included no fruit. However, the young lady was helpful in procurring my wife her desired pancakes. They happen to shut down breakfast 15 minutes early. Personnel was friendly. This shuld be better when summer comes.

Compared to the Best Western in Florence we stayed in last night it was the "Taj Mahal" the room was clean, bed comfy, pillows great. Mostly quiet. Going through some renovations at one end of the hotel, and the pool, so it wasn't usable. No ventilation fan in the bathroom. Heat/AC unit ran smoothly no erratic noises. Fair amount of electrical plugs and 2 cat 5 cables if you don't have wireless. Breakfast was good and the items that were supposed to be hot were actually hot. Eggs, bacon, sausage, and much more, warm cinnamon rolls, a good variety although no waffle maker. The only problem, which I understand was temporary but has happened before, the water was salty so everything made with water was salty. The people were super friendly and helpful and when we told them about the saltiness in the water, they told their superiors and hopefully it will be resolved quickly as it began to make my husband nauseous. It didn't bother me except for the taste.

Rooms were clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Great selection. Hot foods. Good coffee. Workers were friendly. Had a pool. Not too warm though. No hot tub. Price too high for simply passing through and needing a clean room and shower. Nothing fancy or special. An average, clean hotel stay. No major perks or services that stand out from the rest.

Rooms were OK. Hallways and Elevators were in need of a good cleaning and vacuuming. Breakfast was decent. Don't look out of the rear of the hotel, it looks like a homeless shelter with makeshift chairs, tables, BBQ and fryers plugged in. Wish there was a Comfort Suites in this area instead.
